  1. Hello, my question is, I got my petition approved on March 4, 2010. I received my hardcopy on March 8 or 9 ( I forgot) Its been over 1 month and almost 2 weeks and NVC still does not have it. NVC told me to e-mail them a scan copy of my approved letter and wait for a response back. Here is the response back that I got after 3 weeks.

    Dear Sir/Madam:

Please be adviced that the National Visa Center (NVC)contacted U.S. Citizenship Immigration Service (USCIS) in regards to your approved petition. This petition is located at the USCIS office in California Service Center. Please contact USCIS for further information

So from my understanding with this e-mail that I got, its still sitting at the California Service Center and has not been mailed out. CORRECT? Its already been approved but why can't they just sent it out and foward it to NVC. Is this normal? I've contacted USCIS and all they say is it could take up to 90 days to get to NVC. What am I to do? Really I shouldn't be complaining because I got approved in a short time, but its frustrating that it did get approved but it hasn't been mailed out yet. Has anyone else gone through this same situation or have any advice for me. Pls help.

    Thanks

  2. Yeah I remember..... DAMMMMMMMMMMNNN ......They still haven't received it!! You know another VJ'r had same time as us and they lost his file for about a month, "enroute" from USCIS to NVC, I think he got a congressman involved and his file magically appeared at USCIS and they kept telling him for weeks that it was at NVC. I hope that it doesn't take much longer for them to get your stuff straight.

yes I finally contacted my congressman today. A "special assistant" who was filipino made me fill out a casework form and then he said the congressman will contact me soon. I ask about how long he said, it shouldn't take too long. Now that I think about it. Im just wondering if maybe the reason why its getting delayed because I starte a new job on March 1, that required I do a security clearance and background check. Im a civilian employee working inside a navy base and im a federal employee. Maybe about 2 or 3 weeks ago I had an interview with the the federal agency asking questions about my last trip to the philippines and questions about my relatvies. maybe they are still doing a background check on that, thats why it hasn't been sent yet to NVC. Could that be a possibility?

  3. May completed her medical Monday/Tuesday as well.

    Congrats to all.

    Adam & May

Your interview date, did you choose that or thats the next available that NVC gave you or was it embassasy that gave it to you? Im just wondering because your interview seems so far out. Is that what the next avaiable appt is?

  4. Congratulations!!!!! I'm still waiting for NVC to get my petition. Still haven't heard anything yet. Imagine my fiance would of been doing his medical also if it got to NVC the same time as yours, but No they still dont even have it. But anyways CONGRATS gud luck at the interview

  5. I'm so terribly sorry, you are attempting to hijaak this topic with an unrelated question.

I strongly suggest you start yer own own topic in a K-1 forum, and stay OUT of the CR-1 forum.

in the meantime - K-1 petitions are totally different, when it comes to NVC processing. Suggest you have the USC person contact NVC via telephone, get a Human, and GET the NVC casefile number , also inquire for 'when it left NVC'. Then call DOS Hotline, get a Human, and inquire for casefile status using the NVC casefile number.

In the future, please - do NOT hijaak other topics with unrelated questions. This Visa Stuff is serious, and you've just created a medium sized faux paux.

Wow there is no need to be rude. I'm only human and made a mistake and posted on this forum. And yes I do understand that this visa stuff is serious and im taking it seriously. I"m not attempting to hijaack this topic either. All you had to say is go to a different forum and post on that side. People like me are new and need as much help as possible, no unnecessary comments like these. But thanks for the info though, next time I will go to the right forum.

  6. I'd be willing to bet that you are still at CSC. Hell, we're not only in the same boat, same timeline but probably the same stack of petitions !

Any news yet were your petition is at? I think I need to stop calling because all I do is get upset. I called again today and each time I got a different answer. Do people at USCIS know what there talking about because I've gotten 3 different answers each time. First the lady said that I need to wait up to 90 days. Then the 2nd dude said that my petition got sent directly to the consulate in Manila. The 3rd lady told me that I need to wait 30 business days before I contact NVC to see if they have it. If they don't have it then wait another week and another week after that if they still don't have it. This is getting really frustrating because its not stuck in NVC, NVC hasn't even received it. GRRRRRRRRRRRRR IM sure it stuck in there millions and millions of pile they have. I pray it gets sent out this week if they haven't even mailed it yet. Keep in touch and let me know if you have news on yours.

  7. Hey yoko !

My petition was never sent to NVC. Have not a clue as to why ???? Just for grins I checked my case status on the CIS website ( has not changed since 03/08/2010 ) ..... and golly gee whiz ... my case was " touched " today 04/01/2010 !!!!!! at CSC !!!! Maybe they sent it out .... but who knows ?????

I now know what NVC's definition of " enroute to NVC " is ...... could be anywhere !

Well atleast you know were its at now. They still don't know were mine went. They said they sent it to NVC, but NVC still doesn't have it.

  8. Wow yoko !

It does look like we are in the same boat ... AND timeline ! I sent my inquiry last Wednesday 24 March. The first response I received was " it is not in our system " and then I got the one yesterday that said it was enroute. Hopefully this is THE week !

What happen to your petition? How come its getting sent back to CIS? I called again today and still NVC has not received anything. So I called CIS and I talk to someone who said they will e-mail CIS to forward my petition if they haven't done so and gave me a confirmation number. I dont know if thats going to help any because as of right now mine is just lost or floating in air somewhere. This is really getting frustrating.

  9. When CIS tells you that your petition has been sent to NVC, does CIS keep a copy of it also for themselves? I was just wondering because when I looked at my status on the USCIS website, it said it was mailed out on March 4, but on March 5 and March 8 it was touched? So Im wondering if they even really mailed it out because according to their website it was "updated" last on March 8, when they said it was mailed out on March 4. CONFUSED???

  10. Your not the only one, I got my approved NOA2 on March 4, 2010. It will be almost 1 month and NVC still hasn't received my approved petition. I've called almost everyday this week and last week and they keep telling me to wait and that it could take up to 90 days (I'm praying it doesn't). Then one of the operators told me to e-mail nvcresearch@state.gov, so i did, I got an e-mail saying that they will contact CIS regarding my petition. I called CIS and they took down my information and said they will look into the matter and I should be getting a letter within 7 to 10 days from CIS on what the status is. From what the lady at CIS told me it just depends on which "batch" of petitions went out first. So mine is just taking longer and i'm getting really frustrated coz it should of only taken a few days to get to NVC, now its been almost 1 month.

  11. Hey Jules,

looks like we are in the same boat. I made numerous calls to NVC ( best time to call is early morning or late at night .. they stop answering about 11:40 pm EST )always the same answer .." not in the system yet ". Then a young lady told me to send a copy of the NOA2 by email to NVC research to have them track down the petition. I called USCIS to see if they could tell me when it was sent .... she did not have that info on her computer. Finally last Friday I called my congressman's office to have them make sure it was not lost or stuck between 2 file cabinets somewhere.

I received an email from NVC research about an hour ago .... it said they have contacted USCIS and my petition is " enroute " to NVC.

I would suggest keep calling NVC until you get thru to them and speak to an operator ... the operator will probably suggest you scan your NOA2 approval notice and email it to nvcresearch@state.gov with an explanation that you would like to find out where it is located.

Hell, you just might want to do that now ! B-)

I'm in the same boat you are. My NOA2 says it was mailed out on March 4, and until now NVC still doesn't have it. The lady i spoke to today said to scan it and e-mail it to nvcresearch@state.gov and I did that today, so Im hoping that something comes up this week.

  12. It's been almost 3 weeks since USCIS mailed my approved petition to NVC. I've been calling every week at NVC to see if they have received my package. Till now they don't show that they have received it. I've talked to a live person and they said wait about 2-4 weeks and I said this will be the 3rd week. She then said it could take up to 90 days :( Of course that got me very sad because I've seen those who got approved the same time I did and they already have a case number and there packages have already been sent to Manila. Because I was getting so frustrated I called USCIS today (twice), the lady I talked to said that they mailed my package on the 4th of March. I told her that NVC still hasn't received my package yet. She said that it probably went straight to the consulate in Manila. I said is that even possible because I know that it should get sent to NVC before going to the consulate were my fiance is. She said no, it goes straight to Consulate of my fiance. After a few hours I called USCIS again and spoke to a gentlemen who said almost the samething the lady i spoke to the 1st time said. He also said there have been instances when the package is sent directly from USCIS to the consulate were my fiance is. So now my question is, Is that true or not true? I've read a few of the postings on here and most have said that it needs to go through NVC before going to consulate. Am I able to call the consulate directly so see if they received my package without having a NVC case number? I know I should just keep waiting and hopefully it comes soon, but im just to anxious and want a case number already. Any help would be great. Thank you

  13. You should have an MNL case number by now. Ours was sent about the same time as yours to NVC, but ours is being trapped in their Additional Processing at NVC, maybe a month longer now before it goes to Manila. But we have the MNL case number so we can still do the advance medical at St Luke's. Have you called NVC? I called them twice. Once I called on Mar 15, they said they just received it and expected it to head out on next round to Manila....then I called on Mar 19 and they said it was stuck in AP but I did get an MNL number so we can still keep things moving.

I did, I called twice last week, and 2 times the week before and they still haven't received my package yet. Thats why I'm kind of getting worried. I'll call again this coming week and the following week will be week 4, so hopefully they'll have it already soon. But as soon as I get that MNL case number I will have my fiance schedule his medical. Thank you to all of you for your quick response. Its been such a relief having people like you guys to answer questions I have. Made this process so much easier. Thank you

  14. How about just NOA2 but NO MNL case #? Can I go ahead and have my fiance do medical without a MNL case number? According to CIS they already sent my package to NVC but I still haven't heard anything yet from NVC. So pls let me know if I can have my fiance schedule medical at ST. Lukes with just a copy of NOA2 and no MNL case #. Thank you

  15. I think our situation is far more depressing,My fiance filled it july,we had an NOA2(approval notice)Dec17,so happy that we think its a case number nxt and my medical and interview...then jan 8 a letter that states our NVC turn back our papers in USCIS for review, then only this march 3 USCIS re open and reconsider it,then we had an RFE..Oh come on,we had this one in a million strange case! But in spite of all this we had a strong faith with this stressful sucking petition process...Now USCIS send back our petition in NVC...hahaha!!!So hang in there...SMILE! :)

Why did NVC return your papers back to USCIS? Im currently in between the USCIS to NVC stage. They sent it out to NVC on March 4 and till now more than 2 weeks they still haven't received it yet. I know they said wait between 2-4 weeks but I'm just getting worried coz other people who got approved the same time I did, NVC received there paperworks in a matter of days. So Im hoping nothing goes wrong. Good luck to you.

  16. I'm getting a busy signal when I call the NVC. #######? is that common? I didn't know it was possible to get a busy signal from an automated system

I received my NOA2 hard copy 4 days after it was mailed out. I called NVC today, first got the automated system then finally transfered to a a person. It took about 15-20 mins until someone answered. I gave them my WAC case number and she said they haven't received anything yet. She said it usually takes about 2-4 weeks for them to receive it. Im gonna continue to call every week just because i Have nothing better to do.

  17. Get your letters of employment verification and all your original documents together and send them to your fiance. Original paystubs, original birth certificates, original divorce decrees (if necessary) original EVERYTHING. If you found additional evidence, send it....always err on the side of caution.

You'll get everything back after the interview.

Make sure you make at least two copies of EVERYTHING for your records as a back-up here in the US so you have something to compare if your fiance has questions. You might as well send your proof of relationship (phone bills etc.) now, it's a small fortune to ship overseas and yes you will definitely want to use FedEx or DHL so you can insure and track the package.

    Hope that helps,

ORIGINAL of everything? Can I just send photocopy? Im really afraid to send ORIGINAL to the Philippines because I've had letters and other paperworks that I've sent that never got to my fiance. Kinda scared to send original????

  18. Hello everyone, I've been reading some of the post on here and it says that the Manila Embassy does NOT accept Co-sponsors for the Affidavit of Support? Is that true? Why? I also read that by March 2010 they are changing the Poverty Line (hopefully it doesn't change by much). Well i've filed my 2009 taxes already and for 2009 I do meet the income requirement. Say, even with the changes in March 2010, i still meet the income requirement, do I still need to bring or show 3 years worth of taxes (2009, 2008 & 2007). Because if I do, 2008 and 2007, I did not meet the income requirement. Pls any help will be greatly appreciated. Another question I have is, my fiance was previously married in the Philippines. He got an annulment and it has been approved. He sent me his paperwork but he was still waiting for his certificate of finality. I mailed in our I-129F package before I even got the certificate of finality. Do you think I will get an RFE for not sending in the certificate of finality. Should I still mail the certificate of finality to the USCIS or just wait until we get approve or wait to see if we get an RFE (crossing fingers we don't)? Thank you for all your help

  19. I just want to say this site has been a great help for me while I put my I-129F together. As of today I sent my package and hope that it goes smooth sailing with no delays. Wish us luck. Thank you again everyone for all the help you have posted on this site. I've learned alot and will continue to use this site along the rest of our process. So for now I'll just have to wait and hope nothing comes back wrong. Thank you again

  20. Note that a naturalization certificate isn't the same as a certificate of citizenship.

Usually, a certificate of citizenship is given to someone who was born a US Citizen abroad or who became a citizen through the child citizenship act (probably when his/her parents became citizens, or when he/she was adopted). Such a person becomes a citizen through the action of law, but they don't automatically get any paper saying they're a citizen unless such a document is requested. So they (or their parents) file an N-600 to request a certificate of citizenship.

A naturalization certificate is given to someone who filed an N-400, took an oath of naturazization and became a citizen that way.

So does your paper say "certificate of citizenship" or "certificate of naturalization"? Or do you have both?

My paper says "certificate of citizenship. So for question 10 on the I-129 form, I check off the one that says, " Have you obtained a certificate of citizenship in your name?" and I say yes and enter the certificate number their and date and place? Correct?
