  1. Hi and congrats, my husband is also going to do the medical in Bogota in two weeks.... which doctor did your wife go to? and which Flu shot she needed?.. the bogota embassy webpage shows two difrent flu shots "Influenza" & "Haemophylus influenza tipo b (Hib)" and it is about $20.000 pesos in the Red Cross rather than the Dr.'s office....please let me know... thanks

she went to Dr. Jairo Roa because the woman doctor (forgot her name) was all booked...she is definitely more popular, but my wife said Jairo was just fine. She had to get Influenza, as well as Varicella, MMR, and TDap. Those 4 shots are the main shots you need, the rest are not age appropriate. The cost was about 243.000 mil pesos (around $125) for all the vaccines at the clinic. We decided to just get them at the clinic because people have said they had major trouble with the doctors not accepting vaccines that were done at other offices,so they had to get them again at their clinic, and we did not want nor had the time to take that risk.

  2. Hello everyone,

My expedite got approved. Got email from embassy today. Called NVC they said it is approved and they will send me email with interview date within 48 hours.

    Question:

I already sent AOS and IV packages to NVC, are they gonna forward those packages to embassy?

Does my wife needs to send any other documentation to the embassy?

    Thank you

well, in my case, we had to send the DS-2100 (applicant readiness for interview- basically saying you have all the documentation and are ready for an interview), and the DS-230 to the embassy since we did not send any packets to NVC. They do forward those packages to the embassy if you already sent them, but I am not sure how the process works after that...sorry!

  3. Happy 1 year anniversary to the both of you! And I wish you the best of luck tomorrow at the interview! I can't wait to hear the good news :)

thank you so much! My wife is definitely a bit nervous because she has been denied for a tourist visa in the past so that is still in her mind, but I am trying to calm her down with some positive thinking. We have all in order and tons of evidence, so I think we will be just fine :) Just gotta try and relax, and think positive..that goes a long way!

  4. Thanks! So happy I finally got the date.

I have a friend that had the same issue with getting an error about a gap. You have to have the end month and start month to be in the same month. So just put address two ending in August 2010 and address one starting in August like you have it already. When my friend did that, the issue was solved.

You just need to send in a copy of the present passport. I also have an expired passport from years ago, but they don't want that. They just want to see your current passport.

    agreed

  5. yeah, I just find it strange..because my wife has been married, obviously to me lol. Also, my mother-in-law was married at the time of her baptism, and at the time of her birth. Oh well, it will all work out ok :) My poor wife had to get 4 vaccines today (MMR, tdap, varicella, and influenza)...ugh...I couldnt imagine getting all that in one day.

  6. Xelance: you think so? im gonna call again in the afternoon to ask, cause she told me the expedite was still under review !! that happened to you when they approved your request,?

you said that the automated message said this when you called, right?:

    Case Complete:

"... your Case was completed on ...Please allow 8 weeks for further instructions..."

    Case Forwarded to Embassy:

"...The NVC has completed the case and forwarded it to the Embassy or Consulate in..."

Is that correct? If it is, then I would have to imagine your expedite was approved and now the embassy has it.

I did call an operator, she said it was sent to the consulate and we will be notified if the expedite was approved by the consulate. Does it mean they may not accept it?

    Thanks for your help

it is ultimately up to the consulate, so yes, they may not accept it. It really just depends on how strict the consulate is on expedites.

  7. that is strange....they definitely were married at the time my wife was baptized and there are no notes. Im just a little worried because the Bogota embassy specifically says Baptismal certificate with marginal notes, and of course there aren't any on my wifes certificate. They wouldn't make a big deal out of that right, if it specifically says there are no notes? Nothing we can do at this point...interview is only 3 days away, just a little worried about it. Also, on her birth certificate, there arent any marginal notes either.
