  1. Hey thanks Dakine,

Did it matter what address was on your marriage contract or her G-325a?

I think what I am reading from your reply is maybe she had her original address on the early forms, but then on the DS form she put her work address? If this is correct, does it matter that it will show two addresses?

I am in that stage of freaking over every detail and over thinking and worrying. We have been married since April 20 of this year and due to misspellings on our marriage contract and her birth cirt, her were are in December and I still have not filed. I just don't want to make any mistakes to delay this any more.

  2. Hi, I posted this in another area, but I thought I would ask it here.

I am concerned about my wife's address. Currently, she lives with her Parents in their house in the Philippines.

It is a house on a street, surrounded by other houses, but for some reason there is no house number

or address registered with their postal system. When I send her something, I have to send it to her Fathers work or her work.

Her address seems to consist of a street or area name, the city, country, code. No number address.

I am worried about this because this is the address she has listed on our marriage contract and all the forms we are filling out

    like the G-325a, ect.

Will this be a problem? I think the NSO needs an address they can send her forms too. Is it ok to list another address as where to send forms?

Should she open a post office box?

    Thanks

  3. another question(s) about her G-325a. *Current PDF - typed and signed form*

I know the employment history needs to go back five years..

She has her last three jobs listed including her current job. That is all the jobs she has had. Before that was school.

She started working in 06' and also there is a one month gap between her current job and the last.

Is this an issue? Does she need to show "unemployed" between that time? Do they even check this stuff?

also, on the question about previous marriages.... She has never been married before so it was left blank.

It says: "If none, so state" Will this be a problem? Can N/A be hand written in there and in initialed?

I am asking these because I have her four signed copies in my hand and ready to send off, but I think she may need to

redo them and send to me again...

    Thanks

  4. I apologize if this has been addressed before.

This has had to have come up before.

    Another question ..about the I-130

    21. If filing for your husband/wife, give last address at which you lived together. (Include street, city, province, if any, and country)

We have never lived together. I have only visited her. How should I answer this?

Next question about the Evidence of a Bonifide Marriage step by step guide on this web site..

    5. Affidavits sworn to or affirmed by third parties havingpersonal knowledge of the bona fides of the maritalrelationship (Each affidavit must contain the full nameand address, date and place of birth of the person makingthe affidavit, his or her relationship to the petitioner ofbeneficiary, if any, and complete information and detailsexplaining how the person acquired his or herknowledge of your marriage); or

    6. Any other relevant documentation to establish that thereis an ongoing marital union.

When I send in my I-139 Package to the USCIS, all we have really is our marriage contract., no common residence or joint ownership.

Do I need to send any other evidence in? Is out Marriage Contract enough? Do I need to send in pictures of our wedding, chat transcripts, Phone bills,

    Ect?

    Thanks

  5. Hi, I was wondering if anyone could help me out. I'll give a quick history and then my question.

I am a US Citizen, I married my wife in the Philippines on April 20 of this year. Due to the municipality where we got married misspelling her middle name and screwing up a form number. We have had our marriage contract sent back and forth from the municipality to the NSO in Manila (4) times to be corrected and re corrected. Manila takes 1 month from the time they send anything until the time it is received at the Municipality. So here we are in December and I finally received a package from my wife containing her G-325a forms, our marriage contract, and her passport photos.

Now my question/possible problem....My wife signed our marriage contract, her (4) G-325a prints, and the back of her passport photos with her first and last name as it was before we were married, not with my last name.

As far as I know, the day we were married, her name changed to my last name. Be she signed with her family last name.

Will this be a problem? Will it be acceptable as is? Should she have sign with my(our) last name on our marriage contract at the day we were married?

    Thanks

  6. Anybody from Philippines here knows if DHL deliver overnight here in the US..

    Thanks

I am having trouble understanding your question. Are you in the Philippines trying to send a package to the US overnight? Or are you in the US trying to have someone in the Philippines send you a package?

A google search of DHL Philippines will get you here

My wife sent an envelope from Lapu Lapu City using LBC at the cost of 1700P and it took 4 days for me to receive it here in Chicago, but I don't have any experience with DHL or overnighting something to or from the Philippines. I imagine it can be done, depending on where you are trying to send from.

  7. Hi, I hope someone can clear this up for me. I am a US citizen. I married my wife in the Philippines in a Civil wedding in April. My question is, will there be a problem that the consular agency that married us put my Mother's maiden name in my name on the marriage contract? It reads: First Name - Middle Name - Moms Maiden Name-Last Name. At the wedding I asked why they did that and the answer I got was "That is how it is done here"

We had other problems with her middle name being misspelled and a problem with the registry number, resulting in Manila returning it and taking a month to do so.

I am just concerned about how my name reads on our marriage contract and will that be a conflict with other forms when I send in the I30 packet.

    Thanks

  8. Hello good VJ forum people, I have questions , thanks in advance...

    Here's some background..

I am a US Citizen and my wife is from Cebu. I was there in Cebu this past April and we were married there in a civil wedding.

Our goal is to bring her here on a spousal visa?.. get married here in the US, she stays here and we live happily ever after.

There were two problems initially. Her middle name was spelled wrong on her birth certificate and we didn't have time to change it so we just went ahead with the wrong spelling. Also they got her birth date wrong on our marriage contract. She has since taken care of both and she was told it would take 2 months or so to get the corrected ones back because one has to go to Manila and the other to Layte where she was born.

Also, neither of us have ever been married and have no children.

    I am confused by K3, I-130, and IR1/CR1.

I have been reading the step-by-step here over and over and over.

From what I have read and with our situation, it sounds like I need to do the K3 process. What is the IR1/CR1?

I read the description on the IR1/CR1 page that says this:

Note to K3 Applicants: This process also applies to K3 Visa applicants whom have had their I-130 approved prior to their I-129f. In this case you may chose to persue the I-130 path as opposed the the K3. This will allow the immigrating relative to enter as a permanent resident as opposed to having to file for adjustment once here. If the I-129f is later approved and forwarded to the embassy then you can write them to request the approved I-130 be acted on and the K-3 process abandoned.

I'm not understanding this. How is the I-130 different than the K3? Isn't the I-130 just a form that is part of the K3 process? Also, ..the part about having your I-130 approved prior to your I-129f. Isn't that how it works anyway?

The USDS web site also says something about a few other forms that aren't mentioned here..

I just need to know the best path for us. I hope someone can clear this up for me. Maybe I am missing the obvious, but all this red tape is dumbing me down.

    Thanks again for your time.

  9. Hi, I am a born US citizen. I recently got back from Cebu where I married my wife there in a civil wedding. She is a Filipino citizen. I want to begin the process of the spousal visa to bring her here to the US, but there is a problem that we need advice with.

Her middle name was spelled wrong on her birth certificate. Since I was only there in Cebu for a little over 2 weeks we now have a marriage contract that also has the wrong spelling of her middle name because there was not enough time to fix it. My thought was just leave it misspelled but her schooling/college papers have what is supposed to be the correct spelling and also her sisters civil wedding papers have her as a witness with what is supposed to be the correct spelling of her middle name. We need some solid advice on what to do about this. If she has to fix it, then I need to know what is the process for doing that, about how long it will take and roughly how much it will cost. We will also have to fix our marriage contract if we get her birth cert fixed. It would be great if she could just leave it spelled wrong and we could move on but we don't want this to blow up in our face in the middle of the spousal visa "journey"

Any advice will be much appreciated.

    Thanks
