  1. I just paid my IV fee and I am waiting on that to go through. Now I am filling out the I-864 and wondering about question 25. Federal Income Tax Information.

In December I was trying to get things done ahead of time and I ordered my last 3 years tax transcripts which where 2006, 2007, and 2008. Also in December had my supervisor write me an employment letter that stated that I make X amount of money per year.

Some time in the middle of 09' we all took a pay cut. Fast forward to now, I have my 2009 taxes filed that show my earning at about $3000 less than they were and less than what they are stated in my employment letter from my supervisor. My questions are...can I just use the 2006, 2007, and 2008 or at this point in time, do I have to include 2009 and if I do include 2009, will that discrepancy cause any problems?

I hope I am just being paranoid about this...

  2. It wasn't even that long ago(last summer) that we were getting 48 PHP to a USD. Does anyone else notice that when they send money via Western Union, Money Gram or Xoom that the exchange rate is always a peso lower per dollar than what it actually is? Lately the exchange rate has been 44 PHP to the USD but every time I send on those services it comes out to be about 43.3. What gives?

A weak US Dollar affects us all. I haven't seen any signs of it getting better, either.

Moneygram and all those instant money places will give you a lower than actual rate to make a little more off of people in a tight spot.

I signed up for a HSBC Direct online account. You can transfer money from your checking account into the HSBC account for no charge and they give you an ATM card.

I sent the ATM card to my wife and then called HSBC and told them I will be in the Philippines indefinitely. That way they don't think it is stolen and being used there by someone else.

It does take four business days for the money to transfer, but as far as I know it is the cheapest way to get money there. The only fee you get hit with is a small ATM fee when money is taken out.

I think I actually got this idea from someone on this forum, so thanks to whoever that was for a great idea.

  3. Bernie,

I am reading the section you are talking about all falls under Part 3

Part 3. Information on the immigrant(s) you are sponsoring.

    8. I am sponsoring the principal immigrant named in Part 2 above.

    I checked Yes for 8

    9. Nothing to enter here

    10. Enter the total number of immigrants you are sponsoring on this form from Part 3, Items 8 and 9.

    That comes out to 1

  4. Hey Tom,

I was feeling the same way, but we got our NOA2 in 2 months after the NOA1 also from the California Service Center.

I got the email notification and a week later the NOA2 showed up in the mail. That same night I called the NVC and talked to a

very friendly woman that gave me our case number and answered all my questions. I was so shocked I forgot her name..

Now I feel a little caught off guard(my own fault) and we are scrambling to get everything together.

As long as you don't get any RFIs there is a very good chance it will go faster than you think.

    Good luck

  5. So the NVC has our approved case, email addresses, ect, they emailed me Choice of Agent form with our case# and barcode. My wife signed it, appointed me as address and agent and we emailed it back to the NVC.

Now I am filing out the I-864..

    Two questions..

Part 2. Information on the principal immigrant.

It is asking for my wife's address. Is this her address in her country where she is now or my address here where she will live when she moves here?

Or is it my address here because I am the assigned address and agent?

I was looking at the example I-864 form on this web site and the sponsor filing used their current address for their beneficiary.

    Next question..about Sponsors Household size

Part 3. Information on the immigrant(s) you are sponsoring.

It is just myself and my wife...2 people..and it says don't count anyone twice.

    8. [X] I am sponsoring the principal immigrant named in Part 2 above.

    10. Enter the total number of immigrants you are sponsoring on this form from Part 3, Items 8 and 9. = 01

Then I get down to Question 21 A through F

Enter the number you entered on line 10. = 01

Persons NOT sponsored in this affidavit= 01

    b. Yourself.

    c. If you are currently married, enter "1" for your spouse= 01

Add together lines and enter the number here. Household Size: 3???

    What am I doing wrong?

    Thanks!

  6. You can file E-file if you spouse doesn't have a SSN and they do have an ITN. Got my refund check already. But thanks for playing :bonk:

Also if your spouse is not a resident alien you will not get any stimulus checks or rebates.

Thanks for playing? Nobody is playing here tough guy.

There was a post that said something about e-filing without having a SSN. Now it is gone.

Maybe I should have elaborated more, but I was simply saying this late in the game, you can't e-file without a SSN. The form won't let you.

    ITN is another story.

If I or someone is incorrect or missing some information, then just bring it up.

We are trying to help each other get the correct information. Not trying to look cool with smart #### replies.

  7. Congratulations! I know the feeling.

I woke up at 3:30 this morning and couldn't fall back asleep, so decided to check my email and we got the same message from USCIS.

Application Type: I130 , IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN

Current Status: Approval notice sent. April 7, 2010

I was checking the USCIS web site for our case status every day like a maniac since the NOA1 notice.

Staring at that same Initial Review blue circle everyday wondering how long thing is going to take.

    Thank you California Service Center!!

  9. Sorry for all the posts here

I do have a new question..I just want to make sure before I send this off.

My wife who I am trying to bring here, when she fills out her G-325a, where it says "Applicants last address outside the United States of more than 1 year"

I am assuming she is to put her current address(which she has been at over a year) in there even though the question right above asks her residence of the last 5 years..

    Is this correct?

    Thanks again

  10. My wife sent me her 4 signed copies of the G-325a. This is from the pdf so all answers are typed in. The only hand writing is her signature and date.

She missed the question about Former Husbands or Wives (If None, so state) and left it blank. She has never been married before.

Is this a problem? I know it clearly says if none, so state, but will this be an issue to leave it blank or should N/A be hand written in there?

Also at the bottom ..and sorry if this is stupid question, but where it says" "This for is submitted in connection with an application for:"

I am guessing that would be "Status as Permanent Resident", but I wanted to make sure.

    Thanks

    Mark

  11. Wyatt, great story.

It is easy to get discouraged and take set backs personal, so it's good to hear other people survived these crazy things they throw at us.

You almost feel like the people you have to deal with have been personally selected to make your life as difficult as possible.

Our marriage contract had to be sent to Manila and back to where we were married twice because of a misspelling on their part and then a registry number they screwed up. It took Manila one month to send it back to our municipality each time. We were married in April and I just got her papers and our corrected MC last week.

  12. Yes, we are going for the CR-1. I have some other issues I am waiting for answers on before I can file. I think she may have to resend me new G-325a forms, but we'll see. I posted some questions in the CR-1 forum area but haven't had a reply yet.

I'm still confused on this whole address thing. Does it matter that she has her current living address(which is not registered with the post office) on the G-325a and I have that address for her on the I-130?

    Thanks again for any help.
