It's good to vent and get out the frustration.

Although my case has not yet been 9 months (rather going on 7), I too have not moved past initial review on the USCIS site. I have also had to have biometrics 3 times.

It does make me despondent sometimes when I see all the approvals coming out of VSC but I try think that if it were me getting approved how happy I would be, so I try to feel some happiness for those people instead of envy.

Good luck. Hang in there and may December come soon so that you may file the N-400. The system is flawed but you are nearly at the end of your journey ~ congratulations for sticking it out & not going insane!

With the new layout, how can I tell if I have been 'touched'? I did a walk-in bio. on Saturday but don't know how / where to look for a 'touch' on the new page.

At the biometrics appointment they take a photograph and fingerprints. I'm not actually sure if that photograph goes on the 10 year card - maybe someone who has received one can say - but I would assume it does.

I did a walk-in yesterday in Atlanta. I arrived at 10:30. Showed my letter to the guard who let me straight in. I was the only person outside when I went up.

Inside there were maybe 15 people in total. When processing my paperwork, the 'agent' remembered me & said hopefully 3rd time will be the charm. I agreed!

I had my picture taken & that was that. No fingerprints this time, again.

I was in & out in 15 minutes, tops. Actually the fastest I have had biometrics done & it makes me wish I had done walk-ins before.

The last bio. (#2) was a shock. On the notice my receipt# & name was wrong, I called the 1-800# and they fixed it. As for this third bio... I just don't know. I will go again, and then wait. I am only a little over 6 months so can I still call a senator??
