  1. I'm not sure what will happen regarding the canceling of your work visa. If it wasn't reported to the authorities it might show up as a "we no longer need this person - sent home".

With regard to your interview, answer what you are asked as directly as possible and do not elaborate unless you are asked to give more detail. Keep it simple and I am sure everything will go well.

Let us know how it goes. Good luck.

    thanks..i will

  2. Hi VJ family,

I am just days away for my final interview. I am just worried because i was deported from my company in taiwan before for taking or shall we say stealing a scrap thing (VGA) for souvenier. The company deported me back in the philippines but i dont remember them turning me into the authorities. I already acquire a police clearance from taiwan and there was no conviction record under my name. But i am haunted with my past because i am scared and worried that they are going to check with my company regarding my work. I dont have any not good stamp in my passport. I even travel to South Korea, Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, Hongkong etc.. and now am presently living in Japan. Do i have to tell them what happened during that time or just let go of this? Any help and advices are greatly appreciated...thanks

  3. Hello Everyone,

I am 3 days away to my final interview for CR-1. However, i am bothered with my not good past. Three yers ago i worked in one of Taiwan company. Honestly i am not proud for what i've done....with my friends we stole a scrap thing in the company like VGA for the computer supposedly as a souvenier. But the management learned about it and they send us back home. We were sent back home, cancel our visa but the company didn't turn us in the authorities. My passport dont have any stamp but only departed date. I even went to korea after taiwan and traveled in bangkok, malaysia, singapore and now i am presently living in japan. I already acquire a police clearance in taiwan and they found no conviction in my record. I am just worried that the US embassy will check on what happened with my work in taiwan. Do i have to mention this during my interview? please i need advices and support.....thank u guys!!!!!!!

  4. So, at the interview, we don't need to worry about BRINGING anything that we previously submitted the originals for, correct? There were a few docs that the originals were submitted for, but i am especially wondering because of the Police Certificates... they took a long time to come after she requested them, and they were in that "Do not open" sealed envelope so we couldn't make copies. Anyway, all the docs that were previously submitted are supposed to have been sent to the consulate where the interview will be right? I am still going to send my wife copies of as much stuff as i can so she can bring them to the interview, but we don't need to worry about things like the police certificates right?

Police certificates expire after certain period, accordingly I am bringing new one for the interview. Other documents( birth certificate, etc) are valid. So getting a new police certificate is a good idea

yep..that is still very valid for as long as it remain sealed...my interview will be on february too in tokyo...

    i think that just right....on my case i submitted all including the DS-230 part 1 n 2....

Cool! Good luck for the interview!! So for the police certificates, you just sent the sealed envelope with the DS-230 and are hoping that they will have it there at the interview with everything else that was submitted? Not getting new ones to bring to the interview, correct?

  5. Hello, any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

My fiance is interviewing in Tokyo. We have collected all the documents and sent required information to Tokyo Embassy. Within a couple days of sending the information to Tokyo, we used the on-line interview request. We received an email accepting then another email saying "We are very sorry to let you know that your case is still under review and is not ready for an interview. We have cancelled attached interview appointment. You will be contacted when ready to proceed with the further process."

Is this normal? Upon sending the information, did you wait for a response or try to request interview? Any idea how long it should take from Packet 3 submission to notification that we can schedule the interview?

Hi...you can't get an interview unless you won't receive the letter of approval or the packet 3. But don't worry because that won't wait that long. Mine was sent for only 2 weeks including weekends. My advice is for you to wait for the petition approval and immediately gather the requirements and go on line for the final interview. Don't worry Us embassy in tokyo is very effecient.

  6. dphyled, (or anybody from Japan)

My Japanese wife (in Japan) went to the station to get her police certificate. They told her they need a letter of instruction in Japanese and English from the embassy to release it to her.

I read some people got "Packet 3" which had some document that can be presented to the Japanese police to request a police certificate. I didn't get any packet. I paid the aos and iv fee online and was told, after calling NVC, to print out and submitted the aos. I didn't send in the ds230 because the police wouldn't release the certificate. NVC then sent me a letter stating I'm missing ds230 part 1. So I sent that in. I feel like I've screwed something up here.

How did you get the police certificate?

    Thanks,

    Joe

I have something to share... my husband and I filed the I-130 last october 20 and was approved initially immediately. Last November 6, i received a letter from the embassy stating that my husband's petition for me was approved and that i need to start working on the requiremnts such as police certificates and medical exam...and for you to acquire the police clearance, you have to show the letter from the embassy, it's actually the I-130 approval.\

My interview will be on feb. 9, 2009....we had to pending the processing for awhile bec. my husband's contract will end on May and we might move to USA on June..i heard that you have to use the visa six months after you receive it...

When will be your wife's interview?
