A question for all my fellow December filers!

As we all are away from our loved ones I am curious to find out how you keep connected... and in each others lives while apart?!? I have been here in the US with my fiance since September of 2008 and we frequently see each other... alas, I will be going back home this coming weekend and was wondering how the rest of you stay connected.

One word - Magicjack - 100$ = free long distance for 5 years, very simple to use - i bought one and sent it to my fiancee, doesn't matter where in the world you are you can call the US or Canada for free. And on the same hand you can call the magic jack from the US or Canada using a cell phone or regular phone for regular rates. So me and my baby can talk for basically free - i thought it would be a good investment - i was right - so now we get to talk on the cheap - and when she gets here - her mom / bro / dad can keep up with her for free as well - ima worried about her getting home sick - but at least this way between a web cam and free long distance - i dont hafta worry about $1500 phone bills. The best part though is she can call me or i can call her and we don't hafta worry about the price of the call anymore - wooooohoooooo!!!!

its primitive to not have one - very much worth the cost.

it's been a while since i logg'd on the forums - jus no time for anything lately - well except to find some cheap tickets to go see my baby - yup i got tired of waiting for her to get here - so ima go back and see her - cause i miss her BIG!!

OHH and im not sure how this is going to work - but i bought a magicjack and sent it to her - so when she has it hooked up i can call her computer as if it was a local call and she can call the u.s. for free - i can't wait to try this out!

i know its been a while since i posted - been working alot, and long hours, so i haven't had much time to do anything remotely like researching how things are going with our apps. i did though find the time to book another flight to go see my baby!! wooohooo im so excited 1 month 19 days 2 hours and 14 minutes till i get to wake up knowing by the end of my day i will be looking in my baby's eyes. dam i miss her. so if anyone can summerize how's vsc has been going - would be much help

im nervious about the whole interview thing just seems like so much stuff we both hafta have toghter... i guess its all for a good reason, i was reading around on the forums and came upon glenn's story, thats very sad stuff there. anyways by chance how often do the petitioners hafta go to the field office for interviews?

so whats this igor's list and how does it work? i keep seeing references to it, can anyone clue me in?

This is only based on VJ members and not the other 1000's out there that are in the visa process, but it is quite handy, although it can get quite depressing if you dont move in the right direction on the list.

I have to say, I get a sense of pride in seeing how active our group is, especially compared to other threads comprised of folks who've filed at the same center and month. So - the more the merrier! Actually, as I'm sitting here watching these two (two of my favorites bands, no doubt), it makes me wonder who is the better guitarist: Jimmy Page or Eddie Hazel. I know Jimmy Page is more commonly recognized, but once you hear Eddie Hazel you'll see why its a tough question. What sort of music do you all listen to?

Oh ok, i feel better now. NOA1 to NOA2, this is the big wait huh? is there any we should do during this time or will there be ample time to get all the items toghther post NOA2, jus anything to speed it along?

@ Xaenyth - english is my only language too, been butchering the grammer and spelling of it for close to 30 years now. Its a big boat we are in, as we are definitley not the only two. i think its a mega-ultra-super-galaxy class yacht criuse ship, capacity: most of america so i wouldn't sweat it.

does anyone know what the philippine embassy requires as far a vacs and just generally how they operate?

yea i left off that i sent our letters of intent, there in the application packet that i sent in. from what i read on the list only thing i left out was a title page and table of contents, i sorta miffed the declaration of how we met as in i didn't type a whole page, jus a paragraph of how we orginally met, and how and were we met in person and what our intentions were. so hope that gets by. also i didn't provide multiple copies of pictures toghter, just one of each with around 10 submitted, of me and her and her family. definitely this site would have been a big help.

anyways lets look forward to our dreams comeing true rather than RFE's and the likes. good luck to everyone and hopes that somehow our apps get processed super fast

I know what you mean, i was checking my bank account everyday before my check was cashed. Now i'm waiting to receive my NOA1 in the mail. The last time i checked the USCIS site i was touched on 12/2/08. Just hang tight, your check will be cashed soon.

i know im a little late for the December party, i filed in January, haven't seen a January VSC thread yet. Similary though my check was cashed very soon after arival at the processing center, Hopefully they will be as quick on processing the application as they were at cashing the check.

I didn't know about VJ before the process and just went off of instructions from the I-129F form, i sent in a copy of my passport, birth cert., passport style photos of she and i, pictures of us toghter, boardling pass, iternary, G-325 for the both of us, and her birth cert., and copy of her passport. From what i have read it seems like thats what the most people here send in or along those lines, though i didn't have it all nice in a folder, just a big envlope. I guess if i knew about this site before hand i could have done better. hope i don't get any RFE's, time will tell. I don't know if its just me, but i have developed the habit of logging into the CRIS system to check and see if anything has changed. I love her so much and i can't wait till shes here. hopefully it will not take as long as it seems like it will take for any of us.
