Hi everyone,
Could you tell me what to do with my medical exam`s results?
Shall I keep them until the interview or send them to the embassy?
If I have to send them, do I need to send the originals ( there is a DVD with the results of my X-ray).
But what if it gets lost...?
I called the place where I got my medical done, and they said that they weren`t the ones transfering the results to the embassy.
Thank you very much for your help!
Take care!

I have a few more questions...
QUestion 3 on the affidavit of support: This affidavit is executed on behalf of the following person: That's me right? his fiancee? That's you.
And question 8: the following persons are dependent upon me for support: is that me too? I don't work so I do depend on him financially, but I will work eventually... what do we check? This would be any other dependents - not you.
And question 11: I do intend, or do not intend to make specific contributions to the support of person named in item 3.
If do intend say what exactly.
What do we write? Most folks follow the example in the guides and write "N/A ( K1 visa process for permanent residence )"
Thank you SO much for your help. All of you!
Check the Example Form - http://www.visajourney.com/examples/Form-I-134.pdf
THANK YOU!

I don't insist at all on using the most complicated one! I just wonder if my embassy will accept the newer version, since they sent me the older one in packet 3...
what do you think?
Thanks!
Yes (they will) - the new version was fairly recently propagated so they may simply still have a supply of the 'old' ones - you can use either.
Oh that's fantastic! Thanks so much!

If it's the new form, it does not need to be notarized.
You will take it with you to the interview.
It's not the new form unfortunately...
it does need to be notarized.
But by who?
Thanks!
Suggest you guys download the new version.
If for some (odd) reason you guys insist on using the form that requires notarization..a Notary Public will sign and stamp the document (found at any US bank, and other places too).
Seriously though - it is a simple matter to download and complete the new version. (Found here on VJ and on www.uscis.gov also.)

you wrote you need to leave 4 days after the exam. do you want to fly to the states then? if you intend to leave belgium to move to the states youll probably encounter some issues!
when is your medical? when is your interview?
you know that the embassy will only issue your visa after they received your medical records form the doctor! and then itll take a couple days for you to receive your passport....
Thank you for your concern, but I am just having a layover in the States, and will not be staying there. I will go back to Belgium for my interview, whenever that is.
I haven't scheduled my appointment yet for my interview, as I am waiting for the medical to be done, and for me to have all the papers filled out properly.
I know about the 2 weeks between the medical and the interview, which is why I am waiting to send the form that says I'm ready.
Thank you!

Hi everybody,
I am getting my packet 3 ready, and I would like to know what to do with the affidavit of support.
I know I need to fill it out ( well my fiance)and get all the proofs that my fiance has enough funds and all,
but I have to bring it to someone who will sign an oath to say it's all true.
Who is that person?
Is it a notary? ( don't know one)
Or can my fiance go to the US embassy in my country and have someone sign it there?
Thanks so much for your help.

Hi,
I was reading through some of the posts about the medical, and I saw something that made me worry a bit...
I have my appointment and everything ready, but I am wondering:do they keep the passport?Or do they just make a copy of it?
Thanks for your replies!
They (the doctor's office) do not keep your passport - they may make a copy but that's it. Not to worry.
Oh thank God!
Thanks a lot for your super fast reply!
It's just that I saw people saying that the hospital in the phillipines do keep the passport, so I was wondering if that was the case in Europe too.
Thank God it's not! I need to leave 4 days after the exam!

Hi,
I will have my medical in about 2 months, and I received packet 3 about 2 weeks ago.
Here are my concerns.
On the paper that you have to bring to the medical, it asks whether you have ever been to a hospital, say reason and name of the hospital.
About 4 years ago, my friend brought me to the hospital cause I had taken too many dafalgan ( like aspirin).
It was in another city, but still in Belgium.
Then about a year ago, I did an overdose of my current medication and fell on my head. My fiance brought me to the hospital. This was in another country.
None of those were *suicide attempts*.
But I am afraid the physician will see it like that and that it will mean my visa being denied.
I am ready to have a letter from my family physician to back me up and say that I am not a danger to myself or anyone.
My questions are:
Should I keep that a secret? Or tell the physician ?
How can they find out about stays in hospitals? Can they find it out even if you weren't in your home city or home country?
Please tell me what you think.
Thank you for your help!

You won't need it since the embassy will have your case that was forwarded by the NVC.
You will need a copy of it however, when you file for AOS after you arrive in the US and marry the petitioner.
Diana
Thanks.

Hi,
I am getting my packet 3 ready and I'd like to know if I need the NOA2 or if a copy ( in this case scan) is enough?
Thanks!

Hi,
I'd like to know the difference between a police certificate and a police record?
Do I need both?
Where can I obtain them?
Thanks!
All the info is on there ( template letter )

I will not recommened it yet due to the facts that you will need the NOA2, also known as Notice of Approval or you have been APPROVED. You can ptrepare it and send it as soon as you get the hard copy of your NOA2
Hi,
Do you need the NOA2 or just a copy ( scan)of it will do it?
THANKS!

Hi,
I am now waiting for my packet 3.
I am NOT in Belgium at the moment and am not going to be for a few months.
How do they send the package? Through normal mail, or against a signature?
If they need a signature, can it be of someone from my family or does it HAVE to be me?
THANK YOU!!
if you had put Begium address on i-129, it will be send it ur address in belgium.
i believe , u will also have to get the Police certificate from belgium, not sure if a person must be present or not.
after it is obtained either by ur family member/representative, then could ffd pack3 to u to fill out other info then u could send it back to us embassy in belgium.
may b packet 3 from embassy could be delayed and may b u would get it after u r back to Belgium.
They send it by regular mail.
You could look up the Us embassy web site for Belgium.
most forms, u could downloaded and filled it out urself .
Goodluck
Thank you. I will have packet 3 sent to me. I was just wondering about what kind of delivery they use, cause sometimes you NEED to be the one picking it up!

if you mentioned in your application then i would get it just in case but if you haven't then i wouldn't worry about it especially if you didn't commit any crimes here!
Ok I'll check with the embassy here and see if I have time to get it before I leave .
Thank you!

Hi guys,
I already posted this but I can't find it , for some reason.
So here goes:
In 2007-2008, I spent over 6 months in Brazil.
Do I need a police certificate ?
If so, how can I get one?
yes , you will need it.
How to obtain a police certificate
Brazil
Do I need to provide a police certificate when applying for permanent residence?
Yes. Applicants need to provide the three different certificates listed below.
How and where do I obtain one?
Local Requests
Applicants should contact the issuing authorities to obtain the three following certificates:
A Certidão de Antecedentes Criminais, issued by the federal police. Consult their website at www.dpf.gov.br for instructions.
A Certidão de Antecedentes Criminais, issued by the state authority. Contact the state authority directly, using the local directory for assistance.
A Certidão de Distribuição Cíveis e Criminais, issued by the Federal Ministry of Justice. Contact the local justice department for instructions or consult www.justicafederal.gov.br.
Non-Resident Requests
Applicants must have a representative in Brazil with notarized authorization to request the federal and state police certificates on their behalf.
Thank you so much!
Hi,
I checked the website but it's in portuguese.
A representative in Brazil?? How am I supposed to get that?
Is it because I stayed over 6 months? What if I stayed just under 6 months? ( I'd have to calculate exactly, with my passport stamps).
And what if I stayed 5 months, then went back to Belgium, then came back to Brazil?
Thank you!
Ok I just checked, I stayed exactly 5 months and 17 days.
Do I still need it???
Thanks so much!

Hi,
I am getting my packet 3 ready and I was wondering if I have enough evidence for the affidavit of support
I have:
- letter from my fiance's employer, stating his job title, when he started, and how much he makes per show and how many shows there will be this year. ( + the fact the the employer pays for lodging, food and health insurance)
- a letter from his employer stating how much he made in 2008
He makes more than enough money for the both of us, so I'm thinking this should be enough evidence... But I am not 100% sure.
Do I need bank statements? Or his tax returns? Anything else?
Thank you so much for your help!!
In this instance, he needs to provide the most recent tax return in addition to the other evidence you already described.
Also, he will need to meet or exceed the poverty line of income, as described below:
2008 Poverty Guidelines for the 48 Contiguous States and the District of
Columbia
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Poverty
Persons in family guideline
------------------------------------------------------------------------
1............................................................ $10,400
2............................................................ 14,000
3............................................................ 17,600
4............................................................ 21,200
5............................................................ 24,800
6............................................................ 28,400
7............................................................ 32,000
8............................................................ 35,600
------------------------------------------------------------------------
For families with more than 8 persons, add $3,600 for each
Thank you.
Where do I get his tax return? Can I ask his employer ( they did it for him)? Does he need to be in the States for that?
Thanks a lot!
Well, individual tax returns are generally filed by the taxpayer. In this instance, his employer should have provided him a copy. Ask the employer to provide a copy, if you don't already have one.
No, he does not need to be in the USA for this.
Ok I'll ask his employer cause he doesn't have a copy.
Thank you.

Polices certificate & Medical - Belgium
in US Embassy and Consulate Discussion

Hello!
How are you?
Send the letter that you can find on VJ to the ministry of justice. Then they will send you an enveloppe with 2 copies of your * casier judiciaire* ( police record) . It`s for the entire country, so you shouldn`t worry about it.
For your vaccinations, do you have a family doctor?
If so, go and see him. Some vaccines are mandatory in Belgium ( polio, tetanus...) so he can write you a vaccination card for those. And maybe he knows what other vaccines you have had?
If not then the blood test sounds like a good idea, cause it will show the anti-bodies you have and that will most likely show which vaccines you have had.
hope that helps
take care!
