I am sending my Packet on March 31st.. :-) can be April File too.

We just got back from SS office. what a mess. They took all of out information. And will decide later on how to fix the name change situation.

Their Computer system will not allow them to change a name if I-94 is expired. Now thats BRILLIANT!!!!!!!!!!! ON a K-1 visa, the I94 date is 90 days from POE. Now we can get married on the 90th day of I-94. That will leave all of the other institutions saying that the K-1 holder out of status ( according to them). I have stated to them that the information they have is incorrect. And they cannot base their decisions on the date of I-94. It simply will not work.

They have copied all of our documents and made us fill another SS form .. with proper names. Maybe they will do it a s a mistake correction. I do not know at this point. The USCIS guy on the phone yesterday stated that SS office dropped the ball and that on I-485 i should write the married name.

So the Green card will come with the correct name.

I just spent 20 min on the phone with USCIS they said that WI courts screwed up. They SHoudl have changed it.

No they want me to write her maried name on the petition. and after the card comes in they will change the SS name and then the DL .

Kinda #### backwards if you ask me.

This is NUTS!!!!!!!!!!. we have passed the road test today, but they did not give a license until AOS is complete.

Same in the name change stuff. I am thinking of changing the name on the AOS petition. The green card may be the way out .. not the courts.. maybe i should call them.

We just got back from CS. My wife got another MMR shot, even though in Ukraine they said she would not have to get anymore.

They knew exactly what needed to be done. And walked me through it. $35.. for supplemental transcription of immunizations and $72.00 for an MMR shot.

But we got the envelope sealed in 10 minutes. Now just the tax stuff and mailing the envelope.

Hi Danu... we have to see a CS?.. she had her medical on August 4th. I am totally lost now. some are saying that medical is good for a year..some say we need to go to CS. :-( Help!!!

I took a look at her medical - one page with a stamp?... that's all we have to send?

Hi Guys. I am about finished ( i hope :-)) with all the papers. And reading all of this i have two questions so far.

Medical that was taken in August 2009 is good enough yet for AOS?

And another thing, My wife's 19yearold son is still studying in Ukraine. I am not quiet sure how to go about his paperwork yet.

I guess i found one more question. Wifes last name is not changed yet.. they wont chenge it till AOS is done?

Just came back.. Under F-129, the name change cannot happen, until the visa holder files for AOS and gets the Green card.

Thats what i just been told. :-(

We just went to SSA to change a name.. and they should go to DHS office to change the name.. I called SSA and after 29 min on hold they told me that the name change can be done only after DHS office changes the name in VISA. Just made an appointment to INS for this afternoon.. will let you guys know how it will turn out. In theory they are correct.. After the marriage even the DL wont ve bale to be in the brides new name, because the DOT/DMV computer asks permission with DHS office. And that happened to me yesterday. The Dl will be issued in the name that's on the visa. I assume the AOS with sent marriage certificate will change the last name at DHS automaticaly, and trigger the chain of releases in DMV and SSA.

My bride Came to US on the 12th of September that was a Saturday. On the 14th we went to SS office and applied.. The girl there looked at the screen and said that she was not in the system yet. I waited two weeks and went back. They said we have to wait.. as they sent a request to the the department of homeland security of some sort.

Now on 26th we were married.. I am not sure how long it should take.. but they initially said 10 days. In out case it is taking longer.

The Kid is in school till Summer. So if i Apply for K2 before he wedding that i can stall he should be able to finish his year in Kiev.. and Come in the early Summer as long as it is within a year. Correct?

Thats what i was hoping for.. she is coming on the 12th.. then wedding and the AOS.. can i apply fro K2 with her AOS papers?

Am i to understand that my soon to be wife's (K1) son who is 19 wont be able to come to US for 5 years?

After you get your first GC.( the two year one) does it allow you to travel outside US? or one still have to have the parole papers?

Thanks Guys.. i will have to go though this with my fiance at the end of the September. I wonder if we would have to go though the full test.. even if the person is allowed to drive in the states with the international license for several month? Or they woudl just change it and issue one with driving experience of 30 years in Europe.

Thanks Joe, visa in hand.. she called FedEx and said she had plane ticket in hand.. and they said to be there at 18:00 sharp to see if the car from the embassy will bring her stuff. It was there. :-) Visa in hand.. all worries gone..
