  1. Hi Guys. I am a ISC. Filing I-130  for my wife. She came in lat May as a tourist on a 10 year visa and we were married in December.

I think i have everything filled out with new forms. Just getting lost on the fee that should be on the check.

The forms are I-130, G325A, I-485, I-765 and I-131. I believe that is all that is  needed.

    Off the USCIS site I-130 -535.00, I-485 -1,140.00, I-765 - 410.00, I-131 - 575.00.

Question in do we need I-131 and what is the correct amount and how many checks?

    Thanks

  2. Hi guys,

I am a US citizen and my wife just got a 10 year GC on Feb 14th.

We have a single 31 year old son in the Ukraine.

And we also have a 22 year old in the US that will have the permanent GC in June.

My question is - do i file for my step son? Does my wife file now or wait till she becomes a citizen?

    Would adopting my stepson help?

Should his Brother file in the Summer?

I know it more then likely has been asked before.

    But here we go again.

BTW... this site has worked flawlessly for us. I trust it more then any lawyer :-)

  3. Got our biometrics done today too. As we were leaving i asked the lady if we could get a passport stamp. She said we would need an infopas appointment setup for that. We went upstairs to the machine. made the appointment. As it was printing... i asked the guard that was sitting there if i could ask the girls behind the glass a question. He looked at us and said : I can't see what you are doing behind my back" :-). We walked up to the window and 3 minutes later the lady handed us a passport with a stamp for a year in it. She said " you use it as a Green card, you do not have to show your green card, have a nice vacation". I was shocked... they are pretty strict here. But over all it was a great day. :-)

  4. Yes, of course. And when you file for removal of conditions you will get a letter extending her green card for 1 year. She should take that with her. Even if her green card expires before she returns she can return with the expired green card and the letter. Alla did it many times coming back from Canada. No problems at all.

Be aware that when you file for the removal of conditions she will get a notice to do biometrics and will have to be here for that. It is usually 4-6 weeks after you file.

Of course. Try doing it with a son going to college in Russia!

No thanks Gary :-) I remember what i went through when the kid followed 9 month after my wife came. :-)

Well... she is off to Kiev today. She got her passport renewed in Chicago two days ago. She got it done in one hour!!!

She did not like the place and how the people were treated. Never the less - she got it done. For some reason the council asked for employment verification and did not accept GC as a document. Strange. The same dame the reminder letter cam from the Immigration service remanding us to file for ROC. We cant file sooner them March 17th. So we have a bit of time yet. Will keep you posted on her trip.

  5. Hi guys. My wife and I are about to file for AOS in March. And by the looks of it it may take 90 days or more to complete. Today we found out that her Mom is in the hospital and not doing very well. My question is - what is the fastest way and paperwork do we need for her to travel. We had I-131 but they are already expired. Her conditional GC expires June 16th so we have time I just don't know if her Mom does.

    Thanks
