  5. Hey guys..

an update from us - we're approved!

It was a long day, the interview was scheduled at 2 pm in Garden City, NY. We arrived at 1 pm and had to wait until 3 pm to be called. There were just sooo many couples. Some officers calling people were so nice and smiling right away, some were not showing any emotions at all. We were called by a woman who at first didn't look nice but once we were in her room, she was smiling and joking. She wanted to swear us in and told us to remain standing, and my husband didn't understand what to do at first - he went back to the door. She laughed and said - don't go, it's not over yet:))

Then she asked for our ID's, I-94, marriage certificate. Asked if my husband had a driver's license, and was surprised that he didn't have one. Then she asked how we got to the Immigration Office, he explained all our route with the buses, trains etc. She said that the taxi drivers were awful over there, and we made a good deal payin $27 compared with the minimum $100 the taxi would have cost us.

Then she asked me about my visa, where I studied, what degree I obtained and what I studied. She seemed satisfied with the answers.

Then she asked my husband about our relations, how we met each other. He started to tell her our story, and I couldn't stop smiling - he was sooo cute then:)

Then she asked for some mutual documents, we had only joint bank account, our names on the T-mobile bill, and gym membership. She asked if we were actually going there, and once again laughed, because my husband isn't actually going now because of the back injury, she said that men always find excuses.

Also she wanted to see some pictures, seemed to like them, we showed her pictures of our honeymoon in Florida, and she started to talk about Florida. She took one picture to keep on file.

Then asked me all the questions about weapons, prostitution etc.

Then asked if I want to have my passport stamped - of course I did!

The interview lasted 20 minutes, and during it I had really good feeling - she is a very good person and made us feel very comfortable.

So, although my case status online hasn't yet changed, I got a stamp in my passport and in about 2 weeks they said I'll receive the card.

Special for lostfairyuk - Garden City is a very good place, though it's crowded but according to what I know from other people and what I saw today - they are likely to tell you if you're approved right away, and today we saw all people getting their passports stamped. Don't worry, I'm sure your interview will be a breeze. WIll keep my fingers crossed for you on Monday :)

Thank you guys for your support, it really means a lot to me!!! (L)(L)(L)

    CONGRATS..

    im so happy for you..

  13. She is not going to be here for the holidays, sorry. If that is important, she could try to get a tourist visa but she is unlikely to get that as a single youn g Phillipina.

Assuming your brother-in-law is a US citizen, and the two of them want to get married (as oppsoed to jsut living together as boyfriend/ girlfriend- no visa for that) he can apply for a K1 fiancee visa, which takes 6-8 months.

yes he is a USC..so she can come here in tourist visa..then after that when she went back to dubai can she start processing the fiancee visa (dubai base)..?or she needs to go back to our country just to apply fiancee visa..?

ah ok..so for now she can apply for tourist visa..i was a fiancee visa too,so there just gonna do the same thing like what we did..?

  17. hello guys..

i have a question to ask..my interview is very near so im gathering all my documents..

--when i filed my AOS i put my mother-in-law to be my joint sponsor cuz my husband just got layed off from his job at that time..so now my husband has been working for his new job for almost 3 months now..so my QUESTION is do i still need to bring evidences for my joint sponsor like (bank statement, evidence of being USC) since my husband already has a job..?

    THANKS in advance..

Hi yes they will probably ask you for most recent paystubs of your mother inlaw and maybe a proof of citizenship also 3 years taxes for her. it would not hurt to bring this docs. when i went to my interview they ask me for 3 years taxes for my joint sponsor with original w-2's

did they took the original copies of W-2's..?

    thanks..

  20. yay! got my gc today! congrats to all of u!:dance::dance::dance::dance: btw umagirl im also in vegas ;)

    CONGRATS..

and where do u live here in vegas..?naka2tuwa nmn..

--so u were done on ur interview right..?i just wanna ask something..my interview date is near..is it gonna be a problem if i dont bring original copy of my birth certificate..?i really cant get original copy back in our country cuz u know there still flood in manila..and its gonna be weeks after i receive it..

--when i filed my AOS i sent them the copy of my birth certificate..just a copy..so do u think its gonna be a problem if dont have the original..?

thanks.. i live in the summerlin area.. how about u?

regarding ur bc, as others have said, if they ask for it they may issue an RFE.. but if not then it wouldn't be a problem. i have everything with me (originals/copy of every supporting docs for the I485) at the interview but the officer did not ask of any docs submitted with the I485, instead he asked of what other documentation or anything we may have together(the secondary evidences). but its still better to be prepared. goodluck on ur interview.

and have u read my post about my interview experience?? we were almost 30 minutes late for the appointment, but everything turned out fine. ;)

we lived in silverado ranch..near southpoint casino..

i havent read ur interview experience..i wanna read it but where can i find it..? :D i just really hope they will understand me on not having the original copy of my bc..but im still gonna bring my copy...just incase..
