  1. Well, no we can't tell you exactly when it will be sent because we don't know. The VJ timeline is just an indicator, that is why it says it MAY be adjudacated. I certainly hope it is but for sure, no one knows.

If you signed up for electronic updates using your case receipt number on the USCIS webpage, then you will receive an e-mail that your approval is on the way, then the USC should get the Notics of Action 2 in the mail.

    Good luck.

    hi hi

I realize that, what i meant is, can someone give me some sort of a ballpark figure when things will be send to her in relation to the NOA2 ? is it usually 1 week after, same day, 1 month after ? i am not familiar with that part of the process and unable to find concrete information on it. so an estimate would do.

    thank you

  2. hi

my NOA2 date is approaching at the end of this month. I am unclear what exactly will happen and when exactly it will happen. according to my timeline etc., my I129f may be adjucated between September 30th and October 4th.

what will happen ? will they notify me by e-mail ? also there will be something mailed to my fiance, at what point, what date may i expect this mailing to take place, will they notify us electronically when something is being mailed to us ? i need to let her know because sometimes we have problems with getting mail delivered to her. most of the time everything gets through just fine, but sometimes mail delivery people do not leave notices when she is at work and then whatever is there gets sent back. obviously i dont want this to happen here.

the way we get around this is by using EMS, track numbers for important things that way even if they do not leave her a notice of delivery, she can go pick up whatever is there at the post office.

so can someone tell me what and when exactly will be sent to her ? and will we be notified by any other means ?

    thanks !

  3. hi

no offense but i doubt these are bonafide relationships, as posters above stated. how do you think your process will go when all this comes out at USCIS or consulate ? you may be setting yourself up for a 3rd K1 couple years down the road.

i have a Chinese fiance, i have been to China several times and have had a long distance relationship when not there for about 2 years. lately i am having trouble because i got hit by the economy, my overtime got cut, i make much less money then i used to and i havent been able to return to China since october last year :( so it is taking a toll on our relationship and really we are going through the test of time.

i have met my fiances family, except her father and brother because they live in part of the country that i have not been to yet, but i know all her bad sides, mood swings etc. it is very important you do not choose to marry a person that you can not live with, and to see if that is or is not the case you need time.

as posters above said, give it time, take it easy, go for some local dating for at least 6 months or a year, or just concentrate on yourself, start working out, get your finances in order etc. then date internationally again, but this time, really date.

  4. Hi

I got a few questions with regards to the whole process and what is posted here upon which I would like to get some clarification.

    1. What is NOA1 ? I see it listed as "first notice" in the FAQs etc. but what exactly is it ? is form 797C a receipt with number considered an NOA1 ? Or is it just the 797C and I am yet to receive NOA1 ? I am unclear.

    2. What exactly is NOA2 ? It says on the FAQs , guides etc., that it is 2nd Action of Notice for me and my fiance to start gathering required documents such as proof of relationship, identity, citizenship, passport photos etc.

But I already submitted all those things along with much extra material along with our G325A and I-129 forms. So will I still receive NOA2, since everything is already submitted ?

    3. My fiance has a daughter. Her daughter will not be initially coming to live with us, she currently lives with her father. But she will most likely be coming to USA once she reaches high-school age, in about 2-3 years.

What kind of visa is used for a foreign child of a US citizen or legal resident ? I looked around and on the USCIS website and I am confused. is it K1, or K2 ? and which forms ? I-129 ? or I-130 ? also what are the timelines and

procedures on such ? is it the same as the K1 fiance visa ? about 5 months ? longer ? shorter ? I do not see info on K2 visas available.

    4. What sort of visa do we need for her daughter just to come for a summer vacation and then go back to China ? I do not see any info on this whatsoever.

    Thanks !

  5. OK, I realize I got maybe another 3 month to go to the next step, so obviously I will just sit tight and wait for the time being, however, my original question still stands.

How do I contact a live person at USCIS ? I searched FAQs on this and other sites, searched the USCIS site, and they all give same automated number, and the people so far all have answered to call that same number also :(, all these FAQs + USCIS website just run me around in circles without concrete info to what I am looking for.

IS there even a way to contact someone live ?

    Thanks !

  6. Hi

I got my "I 797 c" and a case number, it is in the following format:

    "XXX-00-000-00000"

XXX are capital letters, 0 (zeroes) are numbers and dashes are dashes.

I checked the USCIS website, but its been almost 6 weeks since I got my I 797c, and that seems to be somewhat long, I wonder if everything is OK, but the status page doesnt give any info whatsoever, other then they sent and assigned me a case number and I received the form. I think its way overdue for the next step, whatever it may be.

When I call USCIS at 1-800-375-5283, and try to use the automated system, it doesnt let me. Since my number contains 3 capital letters, there is no way for me to input them by phone. I tried mine and couple other peoples phones, same deal. Every time I try to input these letters, phones automatically convert them to numbers, then the automated system says that the 1st 3 digits do not match and thats it. Also, it says something about asterisks, I forgot exactly what, but I do not have any asterisks ib my case number, it is the format exactly as I put it.

So I am getting worried something is amiss, maybe some clerk mistyped somewhere or something like that and my case is in limbo. I would like to know, if there is a way to reach the California Service Center USCIS and actually talk to someone live about this, I need peace of mind, or find out whats going on and straighten it out if there are any problems.

    Thanks !

  7. My visa is approved today but i was asked by the consul to submit a new nbi with a.k.a. Eventhough i wasn't able to get a pink slip but the consul assure me that my visa will not take any longer as long as i can submit the needed document. After the embassy i went immediately to nbi to get a new one with a.k.a and i am so happy coz i able to get it right away. I am going to pass it tomorrow and hoping i will be done at 2pm coz i will be heading back home to cebu at 3:45pm my flight schedule. I want to thank everybody who prayed for me and those people who always cheer me up and being supporting and most especially the lord and mama mary. To my beloved fiance i will be seeing him so soon, he wasn't able to sleep while i am at the embassy this morning....hehehehehehe\

To those who are still waiting your time will come and you will be fine. Trust me interview is so easy nothing to worry.

Goodluck and God Bless you all :dance::dance:

can you tell me what exactly is an "NBI" for an AKA ? I understand AKA is another name used, but what is an NBI ? I might need this also and would like to know what it is and how to attain it.

    Thanks

  8. Hi

I have been in a long distance relationship with a girl in Guangzhou China for about 2 years now. I have been there several times and one thing led to another and we decided to get married. I was actually thinking about moving there, but it is better that she comes to the USA. I have some problems with the K1 process.

Originally my fiance is from a very small village just north of the town of Tongjiang, which is located north of Harbin in Heilongjiang province, its name is QingPing also, neighboring village is very small too, its name is Er Long Shan. These are small farming communities that you cant even find on maps or google earth :) both are great places to visit BTW and you can stay for people that dont mind getting a bit adventurous.

She is currently 30 years old and for the last 4 years has been living and working in Guangzhou, China, where I met her. She works more or less as a "Trade Consultant", independently. She speaks fairly good English and knows Canton Fairs as well as many of the local garment factories, so she basically connects customers and helps them get the products they are looking for. Her life however has had some turmoil in it.

When she was young, she went through an arranged marriage while still living in her village. Needless to say it didnt last long and she left. Her final official divorce took place at Er Long Shan village, at a police station there. Since these are very small and close communities where everyone knows everyone else, the officials there knew her by her nickname, childhood name and put it down on the divorce document. It is basically the same name but one syllable is different. All the rest of her records match on it including the name, birthdate etc. of her daughter from that marriage, whom we plan to bring here in couple yearsafter she finishes school and whos living with her father now.

So the 2 names are not an exact match, it is very difficult to straighten out this matter, since its in China and in such a place, I am looking at travel costs + a LOT of "gifts" for the people doing this, in order to get all this done. Alltogether upwards of 20k USD, in order for them to correct this paperwork. I simply can not afford it, not even close.

So far I have used the misspelled name as an alias, where it says to list all other names used and had her write and notirize a document stating basically what is above and that she is same person. I will be filing it with my G-325A as an attachement. But I fear it may not be enough and the visa will be denied because of this.

Does anyone else have any ideas on how to deal with this problem ?

2nd, She does not know her complete address from her residence before Guangzhou, it is extremely different, in Wuhan, Hubei, it doesnt follow any of the western world address formats as far as city, etc. and on top of that we dont have a street or building address. is this also a big problem ? What can I do about this. We do have city, district, area, just missing street and building #.

So these are my 2 problems. I would greatly appreciate any advice, especially from anyone that has experienced similar situations.

    Thanks

  9. Hi

I am about to be moving to a larger place on February 28th, but I would like to start the K1 process for me and my girlfriend as soon as possible due to the amount of time the whole thing takes.

My question is, if I start it now, then move in about 2 months, will my change of address cause any delays or have any adverse effects on the whole process ? Am I better off just waiting until after I move ? Or perhaps it is irrelevant to the whole proceeding ?

    Thanks
