  1. No I didn't have it translated for NVC

Really! Wow! Better hope you don't get an RFE

I got a RFE but not for that I got it for something else. I was reading the requirements for the interview and I read that we wouldn't have to translate it if it is in language of the country where the interview is taking place, but I think I''m going to have it translated just in case

  2. Hello everyone,

I'm getting all my documents and evidence ready for the interview and I was wondering if I should make copies of all the paperwork I'm taking to the interview (Bank statements, affidavit of support, evidence, etc)

    What do you think?

For those who have already had the interview, has the immigration officer kept any of your paperwork or evidence? or do they give it all back to you at the end of the interview?

  3. NVC already completed our case and it has been forwarded to the embassy in Bogota (5/27/09). We were already assigned the interview date but we haven't received any packages from the embassy. Are we supposed to receive a package from the embassy? If so, when?

And how do I find out what vaccines I need? Our interview is July 6

  4. I still can log in into NVC system! Does that means that they haven't done anything with our case? Any one please!

    Orlando...

I think their online system is not working. I tried to log in earlier and it didn't let me log in either. You should try calling them. I sent my corrected form around the same time you did and mine got completed yesterday. Maybe your is already complete. Good Luck!

  5. I just thought I would let everyone here know that our case was completed yesterday.

My husband and I filled out the Ds 230 again and sent it in and it got approved. I called our lawyer today to let him know and as usual he was not in the office. I spoke to his secretary and asked her if they receive the email from NVC about the RFE and she said no, so it's obvious they don't check their emails. If it wasn't because my husband called and gave NVC our email addresses we would still be waiting for the RFE package.

Anyways, we're so close to the last step. I don't post that often but whenever I do you guys always give me great advice and support. Thank you so much for all your help!

Now we just have to wait for NVC to set up the interview

  6. My husband and I decided to go ahead and send the corrected DS 230 form without waiting to get the RFE letter since we already know which questions are wrong. He already fixed the questions that needed to be fixed but now we're trying to sign in to the NVC website to print out the bar code and the system is down.

My question is, can I print out my own bar code using James' Shortcut and send the corrected DS 230 with that bar code?

    Thank you.

  7. If I print out my own barcode and send the new ds 230, will they be able to match it with my case and the rfe?

I got a RFE and the operator told me I have to fill out the 230 again because questions 2, 3 & 20 were filled out wrong. I know why #20 is wrong but I'm not sure about questions 2 and 3. Can you guys please help me?

Question #2 says: "Other Names Used or Aliases (If married woman, give maiden name)". I never changed my name after I got married should I put N/A or should I write my maiden name eve though it is the same name I use now

    Yes, write your maiden name.

    3. Full Name in Native Alphabet (If Roman letters not used): What do I write there if it's spelled the same way?

Place nothing on that line. (I take it you mean your name is in roman letters)

And last question, my husband and I really don't trust our lawyer. This could have been approved already and he has delayed the process by about 1 month already. I talked to my lawyer and he said they're not going to send anything until they receive the letter with the rfe . Since the NVC operator already told me what questions are wrong, can I just fill out the 230 again, print out another barcode and send them to them myself without waiting for the lawyer's approval? The lady at NVC told me I could print out another barcode and send it in without having to wait to receive the RFE letter

Either way, wait for the RFE or print out your own barcode.

We told the woman there that we were going for a K visa and wanted to avoid the ridiculous fees they charge at the doctor's and what vaccinations would she recommend for an American visa. So Fernando got 6 vaccinations (I can tell you which ones exactly if you want to know) for a total of $293,000. We went to Dr Maria and were in and out in about 5 minutes--no additional vaccinations needed. Easy!

Oh and PS--he had no vaccination records. No problem if you go to the Red Cross and take that card to the medical.

    Thank you so much!

Can you please tell me which vaccinations he got? And can I do this at the Red Cross in Barranquilla or does it have to be in Bogota? TIA
