  1. no touches for me either

i wanna know about the tax transcripts. my hubby has all of his income tax returns .. does he still need the transcripts?

I think I read that someone got an RFE for not having them (but don't hold me to that). The transcripts are free and they are official. I KNOW you won't go wrong sending them. I would get them in your shoes. I ordered them last week and they took less than a week to get here. You just call the 1-800 number. See here:

  2. I live in Washington State and I'm about to file I-130 application for my parents using US Postal Service express mail (overnight delivery). Which address should I mail it to?

    1. USCIS Lockbox

    Attn: SAI-130

    131 South Dearborn – 3rd Floor

    Chicago, IL 60603-5517

    2. USCIS

    P.O. Box 804625

    Chicago, IL 60680-4107

Having found myself facing the same question, I opted for the obvious courier by using FedEx. Then I used option #1 above.

  3. I'm trying to get my stuff together too but I'm still REALLY confused whether I need a co-sponsor or not. Like I said before, I fall about $4,000 short on my salary alone but I do own a house so I think I wouldn't need a co-sponsor but I still don't know. :(

How much equity in the house??

    Around $27,000.

Just in case I do need a co-sponsor, my uncle is willing to help. He does not live with me. He has a wife and 2 kids. Now, would he have to add my wife for the AOS like I do? So his household would go from 4 to 5 for the AOS?

You might be okay with that equity. I would ask this same question over in the main IR1/CR1 board and see what they think there... Give it a good meaningful topic...

Still waiting, too. But Igor shows a 09/10 approval of a 07/23 NOA1 date. Closer still!!

Wow! That only took them seven weeks! I'm going to be really going crazy 3 1/2 weeks from now...

Don't set yourself up for a major letdown, Finn. Please remember that CSC is officially processing March files still.

    :(

No so I checked on the USCIS website and this is what I found out

If the office is processing a particular type of application in less time than our processing goal, you will see the processing times expressed in months (for example, if the office is processing naturalization applications in less than our 5 month goal, the processing time will state “Five Months”). However, if that office is taking longer than our processing goal to handle the form type in question, you will see the filing date (e.g., “April 10, 2003”) of the last case we processed on the date the website chart was last updated. The charts are updated on or about the 15th day of each month.

Field Office Processing Dates for CALIFORNIA SERVICE CENTER as of: June 30, 2009

I-130 Petition for Alien Relative U.S. citizen filing for a spouse, parent, or child under 21 5 Months

April is now 5 months ago.

Yeah. But 06/30/2009 is only about 2.5 months ago...

  4. Wow, that's interesting! I've never heard of that. I'll check with the embassy and see if that'll suffice! That'll save him a huge amount of pain... :crying::lol:

Unless, of course, the titre test is MUCH more painful than the immunizations would be (Sorry, sir, but we must extract a pint of blood with this implement that looks amazingly similar to a grease gun).

  5. Hey Mark, I just ordered my tax transcripts! If you haven't done so yet and want them faxed to work, call them from a cell. You physically have to stand there with them on the line when the fax comes thru. I called from my work desk line and the fax machine is about five miles away down the hall (ha!), so they're mailing mine to me. No rush, since we're not at that stage yet.

I ordered them already. Like you, I think I have time (unfortunately) to wait for them in the mail.

In other news, my wife just got her new Peruvian ID card with her married name :)

  6. Hey mark, this thread is very helpful. thanks for asking these questions. I called NVC to inquiry about the translation after reading the site you list. They told me that I still needed to have the documents translated even if they are in the official language of the country where my husband lives.

    Good to know, Queeny. Thanks.

The only issue I have is that I have translated the docs already and I will be requesting fresh docs (with different date stamps). Luckily I have an excellent relationship with the agency translating my docs, so I think I can get "updated" translations with little trouble or expense... Still this adds a kink I didn't necessarily need (especially when their own site says it is not necessary).

I am glad the thread is useful. Totally what I wanted. I only hope its content is searchable.

    Mark :)
