  1. Hi all,

We went to our original AOS interview appt yesterday. The guy at the parking lot told us that if we are here for USCIS, they closed early but if we had an interview appt then they will let us in. We went in, we saw that they were decorating their office for christmas party!! We showed our appt letter, they said they will take it to a supervisor to talk to us. The Branch Cheif came out and stated that they checked in the system, our appointment is descheduled. We should expect a letter from USCIS )Vermont office) advising us of that. She said even if she wanted to interviw us, our file was not there, it has not been transferred to the local office yet.

So i dont know if it was the xmass party that caused all this or that the file is stuck somewhere...

If any of you guys went to the original AOS interview appt that was cancelled, please post your experience and feedback.

    Thanks,

    Nanny

I'm sorry your interview date got push back.

Guess things like this happen during the holidays, specially with government agencies.

Your tax dollar at work. =(

  2. Hello everyone ... great thread you got going here.

I'm a USC and applying for AOS for my F-1 Visa wife.

Reading threw this thread I read that F-1's have a alien registration number. What document would show this number? I look at her passport, I-94 and I-20 but cant find it.

There A# you can find it only on the work permit OPT card she will or did apply when she graduated, or on the NOAs and appointment letters you receive by mail after filing for AOS.

If you don't have one just leave it blank...

    Ahh thanks Tavo

speaking of work permit, reading the instructions for form I-765 seems to me that we only need to attach 2 passport pictures. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

  3. Thank you for your responses, you guys been very helpful.

Been going thru the forms and got some more questions. Sorry if they seen self explanatory (form questions) but i like to make sure I'm doing this right, took me 2 years to get my USC because I filled in questions I did not understand.

    1. In form I-130 question #19 "Your relatives address abroad", my wife and I we live together here in the US. Should I list her old address abroad?

    2. In form I-130 question #21 "If filling for your husband/wife, give last address at which you lived together?", Do I enter my current address?

    3. In form I-485 PART3 "Were you inspected by a US Immigration Officer?", what does it mean?

    Thank you again in advance.

  4. Hi,

Some background on AOS. I'm a naturalized USC, I'm sponsoring my wife who is in the US with a F1 student visa.

    I have some questions:

On form I-485, on part 1 it ask "Current USCIS Status" what am I supposed to put there?

Also in form I-485; I'm sending the I-485 with I-130, in "Part 2" application type what box should I check?

Also should I send the duplicate marriage certificate that they give you that the registry or make a copy and send that?

Do I have to get the I-864 Affidavit of Support, letters form employers or affidavit from third party need to be notarized? (I heard any affidavit need to be) If so do I send a copy or original?

I think last question; being a naturalized USC in any form that asks for a alien registration number, do I need to write no all A number or just N/A?

    Thank you in advance.

  5. Hi all,

A little background ... I will become a USC this coming Friday, and like to petition for AOS for my F1 wife. I feel I got all the info on how to go about it looking at the post and guides. But while filling out the I-864 it requires that I list 3 years of AGI (Adjusted gross income). Looking at the current support level I qualify for 2007 but not 2006 and 2005. My question is should I wait to file 2008 which I know is above the support level and file AOS or just go ahead and file with 2007.

    Thank you and best regards
