  1. Congratulations!

I did not know you needed tax / pay-check / employment proof for the N-400 interview.

In my case I just went for my interview, only took the copies of my application, the documents requested on the interview form. One of the forms N-426 Request for Certification of military or naval service.

The interview did not take more that 15 minutes, the interviewer took the N-426 said "you should had file this with the N-400 now we going to have to wait for Military Certification". So he gave me a walk-in pass for a new biometrics (it was almost expired) and said just wait for your Oath Ceremony date.

Military certification took 3 months, but at the end I got my USC.

  3. I have a question about the medical exam and my medical records.

I live in the US and i know i have to take a medical exam by a civil surgeon, the only problem is I have no medical records, I mean I have a doctor who has been my primary since i was a baby in London who has records but I don't know how to get in touch with her and how that is going to work? will she be able to send me a copy or email me a copy?

Plus i don't have a vaccination record, last time i was vaccinated was when i was in high school during those four years we had like 3-4 vaccinations done, and they never gave us any paper work for that? and my mom didn't keep track. how would i find this information? or who would have it? Is the vaccination record important? What happens if I don't have it?

    Thanks for your help!

You do not need your medical records. Just find a CS (Civil Surgeon) in your area. Make sure to call all the ones in your area to get a price, prices vary from CS to CS. They will perform the medical examination on you.

The vaccination record is required by the CS in order to fill out your I-693 (Report of Medical Examination and Vaccination Record). If your unable to find your vaccination records, the CS can provide the vaccinations, usually they charge extra for this. In our case we went to the county health department (ORANGE COUNTY CALIFORNIA) and they provided the vaccinations free of charge (they also give us free flu shots). So you might want to call your county health department to find out if they provide this service.

Hope this helps, best of luck.

  4. Hello I'm new to this but I have noticed you guys have been helpul each other by answering their questions and i was hoping you guys could do the same for me. I'm an LPR and just married to a colombian citizen, she arrived in the US with a tourist visa. I know i can file a I-130 for her so i was wondering if i can file a I-485 or if she can apply for SSN and/or work permit along with the I-130.

Thanks and for the record this is so far the most helpful website for immigration purposes and all thanks to all of you!

Hi and welcome to the forums.

I am fairly new to the forum too, but I think I can answer your question. Hopefully someone can correct me if I am wrong.

First let me ask you how long till your eligible to apply for citizenship?

I ask because I would not recommend doing a AOS in your current status as a LPR. It will take forever.

she is not elgible to file a 485.

she is not a K1 or K3...she is not an immediate relative.

guess she could stay as an illegal until the OP becomes an USC, if she doesnt get deported in the meantime.

Sorry desert your reading abilities are faster than my typing skills.

Your right she could stay illegal till OP becomes a USC, but is not recommended. You never know what could happen in the mean time. Like desert said she could be deported in that time.

Even filing for I-130 because of your status as a LPR it will take a long time.

  6. Make an Infopass appointment at your nearest sub-office or District Office and find out what is going on with your case.

If it's actually been more than 90 days since you sent the RFE'd information back and you still have no EAD, that's not good. There is the potential they haven't linked up your RFE to the original petition. If that happens, eventually the application for adjustment will be considered abandoned and a denial will be issued.

Of course there is also the potential that the EAD is on it's way and just delayed because of the holidays. Either way you need to find out what is going on.

hi can i ask a question?i received a biometrics letter i read it and it say only my I-485.but i did no received a biometrics appointment for my EAD?i dnt understand?my biometrics appointment for both?your advice is need my friend coz i have a biometrics appointment this friday.

So I need to wait another bio letter of my I-765?

I'm not sure if your going to receive another letter. But the biometrics letter we got list both the I-485 and I-765. Maybe your should call and find out what is going on.

  7. That is cheap. I called around to find prices for a CS it ranged from 150 to 250. Went to the one for 150 but the vaccinations are not included but was instructed by the CS to go to the county health department office and they give you the vaccines for free, they even gave us free flu shots. But had to pay an extra $40 for x-rays because my wife tested positive for TB in prior exam.

All in all you got a great deal :D

  9. Definitely not the same. I had mine at the LA convention center in Los Angeles. Total number of new citizens was 6038. The hall was big enough to house the new citizens and there was about 2000 seats for family members. They gave us flags and a generic letter from the president as we enter to be seated. We were given table numbers to go to after the ceremony to pick up our certificates. All in all it was very orderly, I was very surprised. It was very pleasant except the part they make you watch the video.

    Also the ceremony about 3hrs.

  10. A little late to the game but as they always say, better late than ever. We are December filers as well and just went for the Biometrics appointment this morning.

I am just now skimming this topic as I had an occurrence I thought odd and wanted to see if anyone else had this happen as well.

Submitted and received everything fine in December. NOA's arrived and Bio Appointment letter, even and RFE, all arrived with no problem. Then today, I received and email from CRIS stating that on Jan. 7th the post office returned two notices they tried to send to us. We have not moved and have been checking the mail on a regular basis, has anyone else had this experience?

    Thanks,

    Zenny and Eric

Sort of. Our most recent notice had a note on it saying to "try" our apartment number. They had left off the last digit. Thankfully someone wrote that note on it otherwise ours would have been sent back too. I called to advise there was an error and I'm hoping they will fix it.

All the other notices were correct before so it just looks like a clerical error.

Did the letters come from the National Benefits Center or the Service Center? Maybe they have different databases and your data was inputed wrong at the Service Center. My wild guess. I would call and make sure everything is ok.
