  1. Should I include the remittances to our evidence?coz one of the members was questioned by the CO why is she receiving

money from his fiance..She advised me better not to show it just to avoid further questioning..

Anyone has related experience or any ideas.. Pls. kindly share.

    Thanks.

It is better not to show them..if they asked for it then you can..never mention about money and job during the interview.

  6. I am confused... its not hard, I get that way a lot...

I was under the impression that my lady only needed a copy of my NVC letter (MNL case number) and her passport to get her medical done.

I keep reading about some 'appointment letter'??

    Whats this??

    Where do I get it?

    How do I get one?

I thought you could not set up an appointment for the medical...

    GWN

Your fiancee will receive an appointment letter from the US embassy for her medical at Saint Lukes.

  7. Hi everyone,

Right now i have a scheduled interview by Feb. 2009 for my AOS application. My EAD application has been approved last Dec. 2008. I didnt file I131 since we dont have a definite plan yet of going out the country. However, there are little plans of going to the phils by dec 2009. Can you help me what i should do? I have the following questions:

    1. If we will leave the country by Dec. 2009 and by that time i have my Conditional GC, do i still have to apply for AP prior leaving the country?

    2. If so, Do I have the pay the fee for the AP since thats after already my application for the AOS?

    3. Is it still AP if i have the Conditional GC already?

    4. OR should i apply now already even if its not definite so i could avail of the Zero payment?

Please i need your insight on this matter so i can plan ahead and so that things would work best for me and my husband.

    Thank you very much!

    God bless!

Your green card will serve as your reentry permit. Once you have it you do not need the AP. I went home last May- Sept.2008 without an AP but i have my GC with me and had no problem getting back here in Georgia.

  8. I think in province even it's private it is not that expensive coz normal delivery cost like 12-16 thousand and c-section cost 30 thousand so it really depends the place even it's private and hospital

Does'nt matter what place. The private doctor's prof. fee is very expensive nowadays.I had a CS delivery in Sacred Heart Hospital in Urdaneta Pangasinan and costs me $1500 not including the medicines that costs me about $500.

  9. hello everybody, my fiancee is from cebu philippines, we applied for a k1 visa on march of 2008, but we are still waiting for our approval, my fiancee is pregnant with our first child, and i want to know how much money will it cost to give birth in the philippines, i want her to have the baby at a private hospital since i heard the medical care is much better, any thoughts are welcome.

    thank you

    hi,

I gave birth in the Philippines last July 2008. I gave birth in a private hospital with a private room and private doctor costs me $1500 not including the medicine but I had a C section. This $1500 does not include the monthly doctor's visit..it was just for the Ceasarian delivery and 2 days stay in the hspital.

I am sure normal delivery in a public hospital with a private doctor costs less.

  10. Hi all,

rightnow im preparing paper works for our application for k1 visa. its our 2nd time and im thinking when i ws in US i got a Social security #

    - should i put it in the G325a form? and in some advance thoughts... if ever ill be making it again for the interview to the embassy which is of course after 9 months or less i hope..

    - should i also include some previous papers from our 1st application? ie. pictures i used before, money transfer receipts etc. of course i will include more updated ones.

    - Lastly, the first time we went through this my fiancee went to a lawyer and paid a lot it cost him so much, is it better if we will just do it by ourselves this time?

    Thank u so much,

    sad emily.. :(

Lawyers are only concern of when the check is cleared...you better do it yourself. If others can why can't you?Goodluck!

  11. Bank of America - and we like them. I have always found them helpful and efficient. We have used their notary services as well as talking to an investment counsellor for CDs and IRAs. They have also called us when they noticed unusual activity on our account and we appreciated that, even though it was a legitimate transaction. I would actually recommend them. They also have bank machines in many convenient areas including inside Kroger's stores.

    I agree with Kathryn..

  12. Hi.. im new here... im REGISTERED NURSE in the USA N Philippines.passed my IELTS exam (english exam) im just 21 n my fiancee is 22... will this affect (or make our processing hard?) we r really inlove n just want everything for the k1 visa processeing sure

Your profession and your age does'nt affect the process provided you both can provide a genuine relationship.

  13. Hi vjers.. anyone here who's fiance bought ticket online? how does it work? i mean how can i get the ticket? Thanks.. :)

I always buy plane tickets online. If your husband buy ticket online from the US or anywhere else.. what you have to do is get the email confirmation # that will be sent to you by the airline company where you purchased the ticket.

Then at the airport you can claim your plane ticket by showing them the email confirmation #.That's how simple it is.

  14. Let's say someone has a DR's appt in one hour, but would like to know what to do RIGHT now to lower blood sugar until the appt. A post like this could be useful. If anyone thinks someone is actually using VJ as their Dr, that's funny.

I am not using VJ for medical help..was hoping any simple ideas from fellow Vjer's would help. Anyway he's been taking Januvia not insulin yet. It runs in their family coz most of them have diabetis.

He is back now from eating no breads,, carbs.. sweets and his sugar level is going down gradually.

I really thank you all for the ideas that am sure would be a big help.

  15. Hi again, I finally got my wife and kids up here in Alaska :) Had a wonderful Christmas and now it's time to file for the kids' I-485, but we have a problem. The Immigration officer at the airport did not open my kids' visa packet. we were going to get their SS stuff done today but we need their Birth Certificates which are still in the visa packet. I didn't want to open them and I don't really know what to do at this point, im going to the local USCIS office tomorrow morning to find out... but I was wondering if anyone here had gone through this circumstance. Anyway all your help and thoughts are appreciated. Thank you guys so much for helping me, I hope that all of you had a great holiday season

Don't open the packet..I was just wondering why you still have their packet in hand ???I thought the immigration officer at their POE will get the visa packet for record purposes ???I hope our fellow vjer's can help you regarding this.

  16. Hello VJ'ers,

  17. I was reading in the AOS FAQ section that during their interview they needed to show evidence of sharing a common address. Is this mandatory for permanent residency to be granted? Is the marriage not enough?

Let me explain. I am going to rent a room for my wife when she comes here on the k-1. I still live with my folks and I want to keep one foot in their house while I finish school & get a real job. And most rooms for rent dont want couples. Plus I can't afford my own aparment yet. I just barely pass the poverty minimums. So if my wife lives in an room in an apartment complex close by but I still live at home will that negatively affect our AOS? Any advice, insight? Thank you all!

    -Kyle

Definetely yes..because you should have the same address or living in the same roof as a married couple and you have to prove that with evidences like phone bills with both your names of the same address.

  18. We're still waiting as well.

    Hi cdneh,

This really sucks.... just when we thought we were so close.... we get stuck for AP!! I try so hard not to think about it or worry too much... the truth is, had I not found this site, I would never think twice that our case was unusual, only because I see other K1 filers fly thru NVC in a couple of days did I think why was ours taking so long.... however, I am greatful for everyone's support here and everything I've learned just from other peoples experiences... I guess the only thing we can do is WAIT.....

Just hang on there..you are just at the starting point of your journey. could take a couple of months before you will have everything in order. Background check is part of the process. The petition your petitioner filed for you does not mean you are getting your visa but only means he is eligible to file for him to bring you here. That is why there is the so called"processing time and interview to see if you deserve to be granted a visa.

  19. From my research about CRBA, you will need a official birth cirtficate and depending on your wifes country that can take a few months and then you can file. It *could* add up to 6 months to the waiting process.

You may be right about the birth certificate...depending on what country the baby is born. I gave birth in the Philippines..The CRBA process only takes less than 3 weeks including the time i sent my application. The BC only take two weeks using under the table to expedite faster....

  20. Hi Everyone,

Happy 2009! Hope for a speedier USCIS this year!!! And much health and happiness for all.

I'm applying for a K-1 visa for my fiancée who is a Brazilian citizen. She is currently in Brazil and I'm in the US (been making many trips to Brazil!!!) She is pregnant (F)(L)(F)(L) , and while we are still praying that the visa comes through while she can fly, we are getting down to the wire and I am now wondering about practical details should our baby be born in Brazil.

I have heard that as I am the father, the baby will be given US Citizenship, but I am wondering a number of things:

    1) Do I just have to fill out some paperwork saying I am the father, or do I need to prove I am the father with a DNA test?

    2) How long would it take for us to get proof of US citizenship for our baby?

    3) Do we need a passport for our baby to fly, and if so, how long after the birth will it take to get a US passport for the baby in Brazil?

    4) Is there anything else I should know and consider should our baby be born in Brazil that you wise VJ people can enlighten me about?

    Thanks and best to all!

    Hi Ken,

I gave birth in the Philippines and my son is a US citizen. You just have to file for a CRBA..DNA??if you can prove to them that you are the father of the child..then you won't be required of the test. Embassy did not ask me for the DNA.

  21. Wow Ano!!! What a great list!!! According to some of the info you have gotten here, perhaps we can fly a week or two later than I thought. Though not ideal, it gives us a little bit more of a window to work with (fingers crossed for NOA2 soon!!). Whatever we do, it will only be with the consent of our obstetrician.

    Pushbrk: what is CRBA?

    Thanks Everyone!

    Hi Ken,

I am a GC holder and went back home to thePhilippines to give birth last May 2008. My son was a US citizen even born there and the CRBA only took less than 3 weeks from the day i sent the application.
