K-3 & K-4 requirements (or lack thereof) are the same

    http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/ty...types_2993.html

    Applying for a Visa

The embassy or consulate where you, the spouse of an American citizen, will apply for a K-3 visa must be in the country where your marriage took place. Here are the procedures to apply. The embassy or consulate will let you know any additional things to do, such as where you need to go for the required medical examination. During the interview process, an ink-free, digital fingerprint scan will be taken. Some visa applications require further administrative processing, which takes additional time after the visa applicant’s interview by a Consular Officer. The following is required:

Two copies of form DS-156, Nonimmigrant Visa Application

One DS-156K, Nonimmigrant Fiancé(e) Visa Application form

Police certificates from all places lived in since the age of 16

    Birth certificates

    Marriage certificate for spouse

Death and divorce certificates from any previous spouses

    Medical examination (except vaccinations)

A passport valid for travel to the United States and with a validity date at least six months beyond the applicant's intended period of stay in the United States (unless country-specific agreements provide exemptions).

Two nonimmigrant visa photos, two inches/50 X 50 mm square, showing full face, against a light background)

Proof of financial support (Form I-134 Affidavit of Support may be requested.)

Payment of fees, as explained below

Thank u for all your help.. I think they were trying to get over on us!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  4. K3, depending upon what vaccines he has had will dictate what they require.

He is ok, but they said the girls were ok for school purpose, but not for traveling to the states

Did they go for medical already? Just get the shots when they go for medical and get it out of the way... Each country has a list of required vaccines to travel to the US... If they dont have the shot.. they dont get the visa....

yes they went yesterday.. that's when they were told that. The medical office is allowing them to come back today to fisnish the shots, but my husband was saying it is costing $ 437.00 us for the shots.. so that's why we want to make sure they are needed.

Officially a "K" visa has NO vaccination requirement...

  6. Good am every 1.. hope all is going well.. :help: I have a question. Are vaccines needed @ the time of the medical if your family is coming on a K3 visa, my hubby says the back of the letter he got from the Jamaica embassy says " if you are doing a AOS in the US, vaccines are not required" but @ the medical appt yesterday, he was told both of his girls needed vaccines, which is costing an arm and a leg there. :( Thanks for any help given.. Blessings
