We had the same $hit to deal with on Parental consent.
It's for the protection of these young girls, many of whom, IMO, are not emotionally mature enough for marriage.
The only thing that I really need to know now is how to go about getting permission. Her dad and I are close but her mom left her when she was 2 and moved far away. I can get his permission. Do I need both or will his permission be fine?
-
We did Parental Consent due to my fiance being 20.
It is needed for CFO only, USEM will not ask for it
You can get a lawyer in PI to draw it up and notarize it, pretty cheap compared to USA.
Philippine family code (if I can rember correct)
Age 18 to 21 - Must have Parental Consent
Age 22-25 Must have Parental Advisement
Sorry, what is CFO? I am new to this.
Also can her dad, her, and I just type something up and bring it to a lawyer? Do we have to write it and sign it in front of the lawyer or just bring it to him? How much should I expect to spend (so I can bring extra $) Her mom lives far away and abandoned her when she was little so hopefully we don't need her too do we? Thank you so much.
CF0 - Your fiance will have to attend Seminar about 2 hours, and after she has her visa in hand she can go back to CFO and get a stamp to leave PI.

Is her mother listed on Birth Certificate from NSO?
Yes she is listed. Does that mean both have to be present at the lawyers or can her dad just be there?

I agree with pay.. your best bet is to wait until your approved petition arrives in, or is on it's way to, Manilla.
It will likely do you no good to notify the uscis at this stage.
Ok thank you guys very much. I was just being paranoid that they might think she is trying to hide something by not reporting her address change right away. Do they ever ask for proof of her address? How long does she have to change her address before the letter is sent to her?
-
you can change your address online https://egov.uscis.gov/crisgwi/go?action=coa or give them a call, there should be an 800 number on the NOA1
AR-11 is used by alien's already inside the US:
If you are a non-U.S. citizen, please also have:
The date when you last entered the United States (If you cannot remember, please fill in an approximate date.);
The location where you last entered the United States (the port of entry where you entered – whether by land, sea, or air).
I read that but it confused me. Is this for people that have already come to the USA? She has never been.
She will have a receipt for her new place and that will show that she moved there in Jan. Will that look bad that she didn't change it until later?bad to who? the address is used for the mailing of the interview information packet...
When she has her interview she will bring her receipt that shows her new address. It will show that she paid it all the way back in Jan. She has to change her address to get the letter from the embassy

best bet is to wait until the file gets to Manila and inform them at that time

I thought I read about a form somewhere too. She is the one that is changing her address not me. So she does this anyway. I found info but it seems to gives scenarios for the petitioner and not the beneficiary

My fiance is moving to a new apartment and will be changing her address. I filed at the USCIS already. What do I have to do since the paperwork is processing and we won't get the NOA2 for a few more months. What does she have to fill out and who does she report this to? We want her address to be accurate because they send a packet and letter that you have to bring to the embassy. She lives in the Philippines.
Thank you

I am 29 and my fiance is 19. I read somewhere that in the Philippines a person has to be 21 to get married without parental consent. I already filed at the USCIS. Do I have to have heard dad type up a statement and sign it? If so do I only have to supply this to the Embassy in Manila? Is there a sample parental consent form? Does it have to be notorized? Thanks
Conan...I think that would make since to do what you've suggested....just my opinion.
Addittionally, when her father signs and notarizes it to you would hand one in with your application and keep a notarized copy for future needs would also be a great idea.
The problem is that I have already filed. Do I just need this for when she goes to the Embassy in Manila?

I am getting nervous reading this. My fiance is 19 and from the Philippines and I am 29 and am from the USA. I have a lot of phone records but they are to her cell phone. Can she bring in the phone to prove it is her number? Should I be worried? What is the best way for her to pass the interview? We are planning to be together next year and will be devastated if she isn't approved.
Can't take cellphones in USEM. No need worry as long as you have the call records. Who else would you be calling almost daily in the Philippines?
Best way to help her to pass is for you to make more than one trip and to attend the interview with her.
I've been banging around immigration forums for quite awhile and have seen VERY few denials if the fiance attend the interview. Seen LOTS of fiances kicking themselves in the butte because they didn't attend the interview and their fiancees were denied. Me included!
Thank you for the response. You were denied? Did they say why? What did you do to get approved and how long did it take?

Under the part that says
"I own real estate valued at: With mortgages or other encumbrances thereon amounting to"
What does this mean? Do I put the value of the real estate?
Lets say the house was purchased for $90,000
It is up for sale at $109,000
I still owe $75,000
what do I put? I am very confused
Do I need to prove how much it is worth?
Also under the personal property section do I just guess or do I need proof of the value that I put?
Thank you

Hey all,
I found out my finace is pregnant. What forms do I fill out in case she doesn't make it to the US in time for the birth?
I just got my NOA1 Dec 2nd so we still have a long wait. She is due in July
Any other advice? Thank you very much

only thing i can tell u is what i have done first time i tried to expedite they decided after six days they could not because my case is in security if it is in security or back ground check they cant do anything until it is out.
i again on the first part of dec asked for expedite they are now requesting supporting documents for the reasons that i asked them to expedite.
u call the number for customer service and follow the prompts one of them will say is to request an expedite, u then tell them why u think ur case needs to be expedited, if they think that it might be a valid request they send u by snail mail a request to fax in supporting documents.
to expedite u either have to be in the service, have a medical condition that waiting attributes to ur medical condition and it cant be just ur nerves, suffering large financial loss, or requesting for humanitarian reasons for ur fiance
hope this helps u
sara
What about a pregnant fiance? Mine is pregnant and I requested an expedite. It has only been a few days so I haven't heard back yet

A list of things that will be needed: http://manila.usembassy.gov/wwwh3217.html
Note You will need to provide an I-134 for the interview, prepare and send it AFTER NVC sends case to the embassy.
I was looking at that list but wasn't sure if it was fine her to do things before the NOA2 or not. Like can she go ahead and get NBI clearance or does she have to wait until after NOA2?
Also if she has never left the country does she need police clearance or something from them that states she has never left the country?
-
I have been reading a lot but am still a bit confused. I realize that there is a long time between filing and then receiving my NOA2.
My finace and I are wondering what she can do while we wait. I read that she will need NBI clearance but somewhere else I read she should wait to get this after she is contacted by the US Embassy. We want her to get everything she needs now but we don't know what things she could do now or what things she should wait to do.
One of the things is she applied for a passport but what others things should she do? I don't want anything popping up that she could have done now and have it cause a delay. I can't seem to find a clear list on things she could get a jump start on because it seems that she is supposed to wait to do somethings.
Also I am still concerned about the letter she is supposed to receive. She does not live at the address that was filed anymore but her sister and a housekeeper do. What if the letter never arrives? Does she need it or can she call to have a new one sent?
Thank you
-
Many take the original and copy to a Notary Public and have the copies "Notarized"Do copies I send need to be certified? Who can certify copies of a passport? You can do this when you get your I-134 notarized.
Awesome...do recommend getting anything else notified? This has been very helpful

US B.C. is primarily used to prove citizenship for filing the I-129F. a photo copy for interview should be fine. Some send a complete certified copy of US Passport to fiancee for interview, this does 2 things, proves citizenship, and shows a record of trips to see fiancee.Yep, mass confusion going on here.Yes I-129F and G-325A have to be originals sent to USCIS.
All attached evidence that is sent with the I-129F should be copies.
You can send a photo copy of I-129F and G-325A and the originals of the evidence to fiancee for interview.
Sorry for the confusion. I am new at this. Do I send her my original birth certificate too? I sent the USCIS a copy. Also with her brith certicate I heard that they only take certain kinds. How do I know that she has the right birth certificate?
Thank you so much everyone

Hard to certify something without the original, the person certifying the copy needs to see the original in order to certify the copy. You will not get the originals back from USCIS. It stated in the I-129F notes to send copies.Try and get certified copies to send to your fiance.
I had an agency helping me and they said to send original signatures. All of the forms are typed. Do you think I could just sign and date them again and have my fiance sign and date them again since all of the info is typed except the date and signatures?

Sorry if i wasn't clear...
I meant certified copies of birth certificate, divorce papers if applicable...
I meant that I sent originals of the forms such as the G325, I129 not birth certificates. IS this ok?

In one of the VJ guides it states
http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...mp;page=k1guide
"Send all originals of the documentary proof that you submitted for the I-129F to your fiance(e) for their interview at the embassy. "
I sent the originals to the USCIS. Do they send them back to me after approval? I am a little confused on this step. If not then how do I send the originals to my finace when the USCIS has them?
-
Taken directly from the K-1 guide on VJ.
What to send to your fiance(e) once the I-129F is approved (Receive NOA2):
1. A copy of the entire I-129f package (that you made when you sent the petition in) and a copy of information that you sent back due to an RFE (if you received one).
2. Send all originals of the documentary proof that you submitted for the I-129F to your fiance(e) for their interview at the embassy.
3. Send an original letter affirming your desire to marry your fiance(e) and your continued support of the K-1 Visa. Sign and date the form. This will be similar to the letter you provided with the I-129F, but dated much closer to the interview (it will have most likely been several months since you submitted your I-129F).
4. I-134 Affidavit of Support form. Ensure it is notarized (by a US Notary Public), with all required supporting evidence. Begin collecting the required information ahead of time, as it can often take several weeks to collect it all.
5. You will likely need at a minimum (for the above form) two to three of your most recent pay stubs and a signed letter from your employer listing you job title, start date, your salary, and the status (full-time) of your position. Begin collecting these ASAP after your NOA2 arrives. You will also probably want to include other evidence such as your banking information and other assets as required by the I-134. Specifically you will need at least 2 of the 4 options mentioned in Section II-Supporting Evidence of the I-134. See this FAQ for more tips and ueful information on the Affidavit of Support Form.
6. A copy of the NOA2 that you received in the mail.
7. Proof of your ongoing relationship. This needs to be taken to the interview! Include photos, travel documents, emails, etc from between the time you filed and present (NOA1 date-now).
Examples: Copies of phone bills, cell phone bills, emails (you can edit personal info with a marker), letters (edit personal info also), stamps on the letters (to document the date they were sent), and other written documentary proof. Provide a reasonable amount; two to four of each type. Pick a range of dates up to and including the present. You can also include a copy of engagement ring receipt (this is something that is a big optional - do not worry if you do not have a ring yet!)
Thank you very much guys. You all have been awesome. My head has stop spinning. I was trying to sift through everything and was sure I was missing something.

yes she will get a packet cause will have to go to St Lukes for her medical she will get the appointment then she will get appointment for the interview if all her paperwork is in order it will be ok
The problem is that I don't even know what paperwork she needs. I want her to do her paperwork now but I don't knwo what to do. Is there any step that we might forget that would take a long time to complete?
I am reading about DOCUMENT VERIFICATION....What documents does she need this doen for?
Will they call her or just send something in the mail? What if it never arrives? She doesn't live at the address anymore.
Sorry I am so lost
-
also pictures of the 2 of you together letters copies of e-mails she will get a packet from the us embassy with a list of things she will need Good Luck my asawa is from the philippines too
Thank you very much. I read over the guides but my head is spinning. I don't even know where to begin. Do they still send her a packet? I filed but how will she know when she can go to the embassy? Do they still send a letter or can she call? She is not at the address that is on her form anymore. Thank you so much

So they never asked her about her age? Was the letter notarized or was it just something her father typed up? I am worried about the situation with her mom and can't find any answers on this. It is very hard to find info about this situation.
