hi guys, most of you here were rigth...i also know one friend here, she keep asking material things from her husband without thinking what migth her husband feels about it. iphone, sets of diamond jewelry and etc. according to her, her husband will going to give her everything she ask because she know HE IS MADLY INLOVE WITH HER. first time we meet i keep talking to her, then later on when i discover what kind of person she is, i started to avoid her. why do we keep making friend to the abbusive people? they are just bad influence to us. THEIR JUST A DISTRUCTION TO OUR GOOD REPUTATION.
Wow! she really said that all I can say is "GRABEH"

2 thumbs up for your post kabayan. It just gets into my nerves hearing some stories about husbands requiring/demanding their wives to speak English in all way even just talking to another Filipino friend. I would say these husbands are hurting the freedom of their wives to speak in their native tongue.
In some cases, yes its understandable to talk in English say if you are in the church with fellow church mates who are fil-am couples as well, then Yes. Speak in English. But say you are talking to your family back in the Philippines, I don't want it when my husband demands me to talk in English wherein my mom or sister is talking in tagalog. I don't want my mom to feel that I'm way up there. or feel conceited, just because I'm here in the states, I have to talk to talk in English. What I do is I just tell my husband what we talked about so he won't feel set aside.
I have no knowledge what these girls are going through but I can definitely say that if someone is not acting right, there is some sort of insecurity or self deprivation that they feel so they look for some ways to make their selves feel better.
Whoooow! that's awful.I have skype on alwyas so I can see my parents and sister with my pamangkin just doing their everyday thing. It's like CCTV hehehe! my husband doesnt mind. I can hear their voices atleast and see them from a far

Mhay got hers about 2 weeks after her arrival. She did her POE on 8 May and got her SS card on 18 May....POE was Guam. We are still waiting on her greencard though.
Does it matter where your point of En try is? Cause mine was Seattle and it is a very busy airport for a point of entry. missed my next plane to Anchorage but Alaska Airlines managed to have me and my husband on th next flight which is just an hour interval from my original flight. ,so not bad thanks for the reply

Hi got here recently ,I am wondering how long does one has to wait for the SS number/ID .I have checked the DS230 form for the issuance of the SS number/ID. I would like to apply for a state ID so I dont have to carry my passport always for Identification, I'm assuming they would like my SS number.
Thank you
-
hi , Got here just recently, I would like to ask question " how long do immigrants( CR1) usually wait for an SS number/ID?"
I have clicked on YES in the DS230 form ,that NVC can request for my SS number.
Thanks

Once you check in they will check your ticket on your airlines data base and they will inform you if you need to pay the tax or not, that's what happened to me , so no worries, just make sure you have the money to pay or you wont be able to fly.

When we got married on a Saturday, the pastor registered the marriage certificate on the next working day ( Monday) and we were able to get our copy that it was registered to the municipal hall before the end of the week. But after getting it , I requested for certified xerox copies from the Registrar's office with the NSO officer signature at the back , it took me a week and a half to get it . That is what we used to apply for i-130and when we are about to be in the NVC stage , I requested the NSO copy from the National Statistics Office and that is what has been submitted in the NVC.

can't board plane without it.
I have done the Pre departure seminar and got the sticker from CFO on my passport.
I-94 is for K1 only OP is under CR1
So I'm thinking I dont need any document coming from the POE , I just hand them the packet and my passport .
Thank you very much!
-
Hello,
My honey would like to know if Documentary stamps are supposed to be on the CENOMAR as well as her birth certificate...
No , the CENOMAR coming from NSO is good enough
-
Receiveda phone call from Ms. Imperial from the US Embassy stating that we can picked up the visa( that was fast) and so we got on our feet immediately to get it!.
Went straight to CFO for the sticker and at last we have everything ready:dance::dance:
Thank God !!!

We finally got the pink!
Interview went out very smooth, during the pre-interview, a very young gentleman on window 21 ( looks like he just stepped into college) asked some simple questions and asked me to submit proof of relationship and pictures, I have prepared these the VJ (members) way so it was neat and very easy to understand.( Thanks for all your suggestions!).
During interview with CO, he just ask about 4 things,
1. What is your name?
2. When is your birthday?
3. Who is your husband?
4. What is the job of my husband?
CO checked the i-864 he has in front of him ( submitted to NVC)and typed something in the computer in front of him and said " YOUR APPLICATION FOR VISA HAS BEEN APPROVED"
My husband asked if we can pick up the visa , CO said "no problem" , we were asked to wait for our name to be called on window Y, then window Y called my name and ask for my number and said they will call me as soon as the visa packet is ready.
We went back to the hotel before 10 , change into our comfy clothes and I got ourselves ready to go to PRISM for the pre departure counseling, We reached PRISM around passed 11 AM,
I was asked to fill -up a 3 page paper work ,asked to submi a PHOTOCOPY of marriage certificate and valid ID,and PAY 250 pesos, then assigned to join the 1:30 session. I saw many girls still waiting for them to be called and get their certificates,I saw somebody who is just 19 years old with a much older fiance than her, she was asked to bring her parents who by that time at ISABELA ( imagine that!). She was giving the CFO people her parent consent letter but they keep on refusing her. All other ladies(mostly with fiance visas) who were in the morning session said they were asked to show proof of relationship, emails, chat etc, (in my own observation, the fiance visa applicants are the ones most likely to be scrutinized and interrogated).
My husband and I went hunting where to eat and we found YELLOW CAB,left my husband in the resto to proceed to CFO, he just sat there and read while waiting.
During the 1:30 session (well actually it was almost 2 PM when we started:wacko:)
It was with fewer people, we have a general orientation , then we were divided among our host countries,
We were assigned to a lady , the counseling went very informal which is good, then one-on -one session with a counselor , I think they seem TIRED
after talking to quite a number of ladies in the morning session, I wasn't ask to submit any proof of relationship , just asked how i met my husband and I answered , then she said OK were done .proceed to the next room to have my picture taken, then after less than 15 minutes waiting I got my certificate.Double check the certificate if everything is accurate,
SO I THINK IT IS BETTER TO GET THE AFTERNOON SESSION IN PRISM(F)
We went back to our hotel, drink some water and juice , took a shower , went to bed to SLEEP very happy ( we were so tired!!!)

I was tired of waiting and waiting inside the Clinic.

That is an RFE, you can call NVC for further questions. We didn't receive anything like this, but all we had was a log in fail in the payment portal of NVC Aand then our case has been completed.

Do we need to bring a new i-864 to the interview or we can just bring a photo copy of the i-864 that has been sent to the NVC?

As far as I know, your wife doesn't need a reason in order to pick up her visa at the Embassy. At the end of her interview, she simply needs to tell the consul officer that she wants to pick up her visa at the Embassy. The consul officer will accommodate her request.
Don't let her forget the CFO sticker. She will need it to leave the Philippines.
Good luck!
Did they give your wife a date to return ? My husband will accompany me to my interview and we will be staying in a hotel near the embassy so we would like to also pick up the visa if possible.

Congratulations! surely Mhay can adjust to the weather and the sunlight, she's going to enjoy some walking under the sun and looking at some wild flowers.

thanks for sharing the experience

I have been a member of this site for 3 years. Aside from my cousin (Bratikicks) whom I didn't know is a member of this site as well until we see each other in Idaho, I met another VJ member as well here in our area.
Her display name is sweet_angel.
Them at the left side (red girl), and my husband and I (gray) in the right side.
