99% of us are on this forum because we're doing it the legal way. If it has taken your friend's husband ten years to realize "oh #######, maybe I should become a legal resident", he's never going to be able to make it through the mounds of paperwork, questioning and general atonement that would be required.

Third and final reading. 10 years is almost enough times for most family immigration categories to become current let alone a spouse. He got married 8 years after he was living in the US. What was he doing for 8 years? I'm sorry, there might be some sympathy for the devil but not for your friend's husband.

tell him to go home and try to do it the legal and right way. i'm sick of reading about people like this. NO SYMPATHY!!!

I concur -- buy 2 seats in advance. For your safety/comfort and that of others. Few things as uncomfortable as being squeezed by an overweight woman (in my personal case) on a non-stop from Mexico City to Vancouver.

Yes! Well, you mean the entire thing (all the way thru NVC) right? Hubby's case was approved in less than three months-we got our interview date on Friday the 13th and it's in two weeks!

honestly, does it really matter? why not just fill it out 4 times and spare yourself the ease of mind...that's what i did, and then i made copies of what i had filled out and kept them with me because you never know if they get lost in the mail.....do what you think is best. good luck!

my only advice to you is to take it slow, question everything, look at different sources for the same question(s), and go with the flow.... oh, and don't allow cultural garbage to overwhelm you. what i mean by this is that a lot of times a lot of people will do dumb things in their countries and say that islam justifies this. i see you are an intelligent person and hope that this won't happen to you...

I'm not arguing whether they should or not, all I'm saying is Muslims here in the U.S. might want to start getting the word out a little better that groups such as Al-Qaida and Taliban are about as Muslim as NOI.
