  1. I need some help from the  V.J.  veterans, I'm going to start applying for my Step Sons 10 year G.C. when i applied for my wife's 10 year Green Card I understood about the prerequisite  Family members signature, Bank Statements etc. etc.

But this is my Step Son what else besides filing the I-751 do i need to attach?  I mean I married his Mother & He's  her Son what else is there to prove besides he's living with us & were supporting him?

    He has a Job & Bank Account(Savings)

    Help Please!!

  2. I have a Big Problem, I think, I'm petitioning My Stepson, who is 17 Years old, he has never held a Passport before & my wife is here in America with me, he tried to get a Passport with his Grandmother & they told him that the legal guardian needs to be present to issue a Passport for him, because he not 21 Years Old, on the DS-260 Application it asks for a Passport Number, what we'd planned on doing originally was my wife was going to Thailand before his interview & was going to take him to get it, expedite if need be.

    1. Do I call the NVC & tell them, I'm going to leave it blank & before the interview get a Passport Issued.

    2. Send wife to Thailand for Passport for here Son & then again for the interview?

Any help would be greatly appreciated?

  3. Hello, I just have a few questions:

I'm at the step where I've chosen myself as the agent (American Citizen) for my Wife's Son, The website said I'll receive a confirmation number, so I can pay the IV Fee.

How will I receive this via letter or e-mail? After I pay the IV Fee, I know I have to submit forms to the NVC

Is there a Portal that's goes in Detailed step about this?

Any Help will be greatly appreciated

  4. Since its been over a month, you should probably start calling NVC. They can give you the case number over the phone and you can also ask for the invoice number so you can log on to ceac and start the process.

Also, another note, once they give you your case number, you should also provide your email addresses so they can send everything through email.

I'm also waiting for Case # from NVC to Start process, for Stepson, it's been over 5 weeks now, should I call ?

  5. I've been trying to some research on Visa Journey Portals (Bringing Family Members of US Citizens to America) all it has done is make more confused? I used Visa Journey, when I brought my Wife to America on a K1 Visa, very informative, but now were in the process of bringing my Stepson to America, we've filed the I-130 & it's been received by the Nebraska Service Center, so my Question is what's next?

Is there a Link, that explains in detail step by step for a USC bringing a Step Child to America? Because when I do research I see all kind of conflicting details.

Looking for some Experienced Advice Thank You Much!!

  7. Hello everyone, I just wanted to get some helpful advice from the fellow Visa Journey Members.

My situation, I brought my wife here on K-1 Visa in 2009 , she is currently a permanent Green Card Holder now.

Her Son is 17 Years old now & has finished his Grade School & he wants to come study in the States & possibly live here.

Can I sponsor him, via I-130 , therefore he doesn't have to wait on a Visa Number.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated

  8. Well I'm just 10 days away from visting Thailand for a week or so & bringing my Thai Fiancee home!!

I don't want there to be any suprises, when I arrive at the Airport, so what is expected at the Airport in Bangkok & P.O.E. in Chicago when we arrive?

    1. Thai Passport & K-1 American Visa naturally

    2. Brown envelope, in which the Immigration Officer will need.

What else? Any help, would be greatly appreciated!!

Ok, I guess we need to fill out an I-94 Form, on plane, before landing in Chicago, is that correct?

  10. Embassy in Bangkok said the visa is not ready yet and they will call my fiance tomorrow to pick it up. Anyone experience a problem like this? He said he does not think there are any problems with it but we are pretty freaked out.

    Rick

It happened to my Fiancee last week , she was scheduled to receive the Visa on August 28th at 3:00 p.m. (Friday) They called her on August 27th & said they had problems with there computer & they would call her back, when they get everything back on Line.

We expected to have to wait thru the weekend in Bangkok & possibly, she would get a call on Monday (August 31st) But they called her at 12:00 p.m. on Friday & said her Visa was ready, so she received her Visa on time & is now back home, until I come to get her this month.

So, don't freak Out!! As long as she passed her interview, your fine!!

  11. Visa in hand as of today.. POE on the 12th of September.. O'Hare airport.

I need some Oxygen :-) Thank You VJ

Congrats!! My Fiance Scanned me her Documents (U.S. Visa) today everything looked Good!!

I'm coming for her on September 23rd, spend a little Holiday with her & the family & we'll be in America on October 1.

POE - also ORD - (Chicago)

Good Luck to the Rest of you!!

  12. Rayman, congrats. My wife just had her interview on the 24th, told to come back to pick up the visa on the 26th. So we went yesterday(we live in Chanthaburi, so planned just a day trip to bkk) and the embassy had about half the visas ready and the other half, my wife's included, weren't ready because they said the printer was down. Now I don't know the specifics on how they make their visas, but the thing that really pissed me off was they didn't call/email people to tell them it would be delayed. Kinda sucks for people like me who don't live in Bkk and have to make the trip up there. Anyway, they said they'll call in a couple days, so I'm hoping ours will be ready by the 28th as well, but hopefully they have it straighted out and noone else will be screwed. Anyway, my gripe for the day and FYI.

Visa received on Friday August 28th, she said the Embasy called her at 12:00 p.m. She scanned the Visa for me to see & everything looks good!!

They called my Fiancee also & said they had problems with the Computer, now she also has to wait til next week

My Fiancee is forced now to stay in Bangkok, until her Visa is completed

She takes a Baht Bus (4 Hours) to Bangkok, but luckily she has some family in Bangkok & will vist them for the weekend
