  1. I received a notice today that my case was transfered to CSC. Doesn't this sound weird to you guys? Coz if you look at my timeline, it seems pretty late for my application to get transferred. Don't transfers happen early in the process? By now, I should be getting the interview notice instead, right? And if my case was to be transferred, shoudn't they have done that in January or February? I'm not complaining, I just think it's unusual.

  2. I received a notice in the mail today. When I read on the envelope that it was from the USCIS, I was expecting that it would be the notice already for my interview appointment, so I couldn't believe it when I found out that it was a notice of transfer. I mean reading the timelines this notice is usually sent to the applicant like the next month or 2 months after filing. I filed in December so my application has been processed for 3 months now, so it sounds like the transfer is pretty late. Is this unusual? Also, those cases transferred to CSC, do they all mean no greencard interview later? Or are there some exceptions?

  3. even when you already have a greencard, do you still have to notify the USCIS of your new address everytime you move? Do you have to do this until you become a USC? or until when exactly?

Your statement says " even when you already have a greencard, do you still have to notify the USCIS of your new address " The answer is NO , because the I-864 Affidavit of Support is valid up to the time the supporting immigrant receives their Perminant Residence Green Card . Or is credited with 40 Quarters of Work in the USA , as defined by Social Security Administration . So that means wonce the Sponsoring Immigrant becomes a US Citizen , Your Affidavit of Support on that indending Immigrant does not apply anymore .

I'm the intending immigrant/AOS applicant. I suppose your answer goes to the I-864 sponsors/petitioners.

  4. Congratulations to all the ones receiving their approvals! That was fast after your biometrics Itty Bitty! I hope that happens to me too.

I wanted to let you know I had my biometrics appointment today!

Please help me to update my information on the spreadsheet

    Here Are the Days

Notice of action of biometrics was 02/23/2009

    Biometrics appointment was 03/06/2009

Authorization of Parole was issued on 2/9/2009

    Thank you

Itzy!!! I'm glad you have finally done your biometrics. Boy, that was a long wait for us, wasn't it? Yea, my EAD came pretty fast after I did my biometrics. It kind of paid off the long wait for bio notice, lol. My EAD was actually approved on Feb. 12 but they just waited for my bio result before they ordered the processing of the card. Im pretty sure your EAD will come early too after doing the bio because it's almost been 90 days already since u filed for it.

  5. The immigration specialist of my state senator called me this afternoon but i missed it so she left a voice message. She said that she made an inquiry to the USCIS regarding my I-485 and I-765 and was told that my EAD was approved on 12/12/09 and that the USCIS is waiting for the result of my biometrics (which i did today) to be sent back to them so that the production of the EAD card will be ordered. As far as my I-485, the USCIS told her that they're processing it and will be forwarder to the local USCIS office soon. I was very happy with this news that I replayed the voice message like a hundred times, LOL. I just hope the biometrics result will be sent back to the USCIS ASAP, cant wait to receive my EAD. but what I'm hoping for the most is that I'll have my interview before April ends because we'll be moving to Texas on the last week of that month. **still crossing fingers**

Did you mean it was approved on 2/12/09?

    Congratulations!

oh lol, yea 2/02/09/  I guess you can sense my excitement, lol. Thanks Diazy :)

  7. My husband and I are moving to Texas at the end of April so I will most likely have my interview there. So I just wanted to know how your interview at a local USCIS office in Texas went. We'll be living between Austin and San Antonio so I'm not sure which office I'll be going to for my interview. Please share your interview experience guys 'cause I'm almost getting there and Im really hoping for a nice interview officer :P Did anybody here get interviewed by a nasty one?

  8. You have filed for AOS so you are fine. Take copies of you NOA1's and marriage cert. to be safe if you are worried about being stopped. You have followed the law, unlike the lady in your story. AOS is not a choice, it's a necessity that that family didn't seem to understand.

I filed the AOS but didnt do it within the 90-day period. I came here May 2007 and only filed for it on December 2008 (same reason: financial) . So even if I already filed, I still overstayed, so thats what concerns me.

  9. Hey itzy, I finally received a biometrics letter, yayyyy!!! after more than 2 months. I'm so happy! I'm gonna cancel my infopass for this tuesday. My husband was so excited to give the letter to me because he knows how long ive been waiting, lol. A big sigh of relief! It's for both my I-485 and I-765 and it's scheduled February 24. Hope you'll get yours too. Did u place a service request already? I did, twice and found out that the first one wasn't forwarded to the processing center, and i don't know why. So im glad i did it once more.

  10. This story makes me scared to go to Texas because I'm out of status now even though I already filed for my AOS. If you live in Texas or have been there and experienced similar thing as the girl in the story did, please share it also.

No AOS, got caught, put in jail

I just want to know if some people here have been out of status (but with a pending AOS application) and traveled or lived in Texas, was interrogated in a border patrol check point and it didn't turn out to be a problem. i'm going to texas and im sure my application won't be approved by then so now im doubtful because of what ive read.

  11. Itty Bitty!

Just noticed that you got that letter! yes it is strange that it doesnt mention the AOS application!.

But I guess you just need biometrics taken one time!

So what they are telling you is that they are very busy in that local office, and that is why you have not received it.

    Nothing has been lost.

Have you called again to ask about your question?

Any news from my side yet.

Was your case also transfered to CSC?

    Itzy

    Hi itzy,

I'm still waiting for my biometrics appointment. I dont think my local office which is in Salt Lake is that busy. But well, I'll just wait. I called to ask if an appointment has been made for me yet and the customer service rep I talked to said she didn't have access to such information. I didn't bother to ask why the case entered into their system was only for my I-765. No, my case wasn't transfered to CSC though I hope it was. Was yours transferred? I made an infopass again for Feb. 17 so that if I still don't receive a biometrics appointment this week, I'll try to ask for it at the local office and show the letter I received :P Did u get your appointment yet?

  12. I received a letter today from the Department of Homeland Security regarding the service request I placed. this is what the letter says:

    Dear -----:

On 1/26/2009 you, or the designated representative shown below, contacted us about your case. Some of the key information given to us at that time was the following:

Caller indicated they are: Applicant or Petitioner

    Attorney name: info not available

    Case type: I-765

    Filing date: 12/09/2008

    Receipt #: MSC-12-345-67890

    Beneficiary: N/A

    A-number: A123456789

Type of service requested: Non-Delivery of Other Notice

The status of this service request is:

Your application information has been entered into the system which schedules applicants for biometrics at their local ASC. We are unable to determine how soon you should receive the Appointment Notice. Biometrics appointments are scheduled as lots become available at the ASC and some Centers have a waiting period of 3-6 months. Once you have been scheduled for an appointment, you will receive an Appointment Notice that you receive with you to your appointment.

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

My question is, since the case type entered into the system is only my I-765, it could mean that if they schedule me for a biometrics appointment, it will only be for my I-765 application and will not include my I-485 :( . Do I have to have biometrics for both applications? or a biometrics for I-765 alone will suffice? Should I call the USCIS about this? :help: PLEASE!

Paging map1map, If I'm not mistaken, I think it was you who posted before about having received the same letter from the DHS. did they only enter your I-765? was your biometrics both for I-765 and I-485?

  13. Well I just tried what Jhunjhun told us about dialing the number of USCIS and it worked so I spoke with a lady who was very kind and told me it was very important to notify this since they cant continue if biometrics has not been done, so she submited a request to check what was the status and notify I have not received the biometrics. The only bad situation is that it seems this is going to take a looooooongg

time to be solved, they gave me March 7 as the time this should be checked! I was hoping to have permision to work and travel by then!.

    Itzy

i did the same thing. In fact, i already did it twice. The first time was January 16 (as you can see in my timeline) but until now, still no updates. I called USCIS again a few hours ago and I was informed that my service request for biometrics was forwarded on February 2 but they still haven't made an appointment for me yet. Please let me know itzy when you have received a biometrics letter already. This waiting game is driving me nuts.
