There can sometimes be lag between the two offices

You can go to the VFS website and put in your passport number. It should give you a blue dart tracking number and you can see where your passport is - once you have the passport and visa in hand you'll feel a ton better!

well its a best day of my life...My visa got approved today....after 19 days of AP at new delhi embassy....its my wifes birthday today and she got the best present today....

well i called VFS office today and they said we have recived ur passport and you will get it in 3 days.....im soo happy...

i started cryin when i heard tht......thanks lord this the best time for me and my wife....soon i will be there with my wife....

guys..who are under AP dont worry...it wil be over soon...!!!

No. They didn't take passport or to submitt it later.

Matter of fact, we got denial letter due to mis-representation. But consulate didn't specify what mis-representation.

Anyway, can we get marry and refile I-130 right away based on their denial ??

If so, I like to hear from you what kind of Pending letter was for and how long it took from receiving pending letter to actually getting the Visa.

My fiancee just received 221(g) letter asking for Additional Proof of Relationship on Jan 21 2009. Consulate didn't specify what specif proof it needed.

Anyways, we sent the all necessary required proof on Jan 27 2009. However, we have not heard back from Consulate.

We sent an email inquiry re: Case Status. And Consulate replied stating...

"Your case is in Administrative Reivew and it unable to tell how long it will take to process the case, it will try it best to process it quickly"

DO I HAVE ANY CHANCE OF GETTING VISA AFTER RECEIVING 221(G) LETTER ??

Did they took your passport?? or did they ask your fiance to submit it later on??

first of all what i think...you can get married but you cannot reapply like that,,,coz you have to withdraw the K-1 petetion

then you can apply ....and if you wanna apply then DCF is the best option.....

They asked for ma passport... Do u think thts a positive sign??? Is there any law or rule tht embassy cannot keep passports until certain period of time??

I feel so bad for my situtaion....my marriage is on verge of divorce....cuz of the embassy people..My interview went fine and at the end they issued me 221g requesting documents...i submitted them..,and its been over 2 weeks no news frm them..

well me and my wife fight everyday on phone cuz its been 1.5 years of marriage and we hardly spent 3 months together. and plus she lost her job because of recession, ....I tried to call her to india..but my parents are against from our marriage cuz my wife is WHITE., she is white american....but i love her and she loves me too...well, I am goin through a lot and i dont know on what basis they issued me 221g....well im soo depressed..and frustated....

i think 221g is favourite for new delhi embassy....

I feel Like i lost everything..-------------No hopes-----------

This is what my embassy told me as well to inquire every week. Also I went from AP to AR in a week since the letter has been requested.

I guess maybe after 2 weeks it's best for your petitioner to call Lorraine in the USEM and inquire on what really is they want. No guarantee's they will tell you anything but atleast you are inquiring.

Well i submitted my 221g documents today with my passport.....they told me to enquire after 1 week,,,,but they said generaly it takes 2-3 weeks to process....they said as long as ur documents are completed then it will be fine...and rest it depends upon on ur case....well..i dont knw..how its gonna be,..???? hoping it goes well...

I know that this entire process can suck and is very very frustrating. I can't imagine what it would be like to be away from your daughter for such a long time. There are many cases here of people who do hand in the reqested paperwork and they get the visa within a few weeks - so not all hope is lost. It's just another (annoying) hoop to jump thru. You are so close to the finish line in this, so don't give up!

I think I follow now - you are the husband and the beneficiary? And your wife is the petitioner and USC? I take it she was living with you for awhile recently in order to be able to apply as DCF? Was she at the interview?

Try to make the affidavits as thorough as possible - I don't think there is any harm in adding additional photos if you have them. Do either set of parents have an issue with the marriage? If not, having them make statements will be quick and easy. Just be honest and tell your story.

Thanks 4 cooperating ....well yea my wife was here in india for 3 months for DCF...well she wasnt with me at the time of interview....USCIS told me that she can leave after petioning the case....well she went back coz our daughter is bak in US ,,,,my mother in law was takin care of her.....due to some reasons we couldnt get her passport...so my wife came alone to india,,.,,well im sooo frustated right now...im not gonna give up....well my wifes sending me the documents which we need to submit....I am gonna do tht soon....

But the problem is they are asking abt my voters ID card and last five years of voters list...

well i just got my voters ID card in begining of this year...and i dont have any records of voting of last five year....so im confused what should i say them about not having voters list....but i can show my voters ID card....

well in immigrant visa or DCF cases they take long to issue the visa...for 221g...do i have to go to embassy again for interview??

Yes, Please make an affidavit and explain why you dont have a voters list for the past 5 years.Did you vote last election?
