This thread is funny, feel sorry for the person who started it, scraping the bottom of the barrel comes to mind here........
it's your right to feel sorry ... I'll shamelessly appropriate an expression posted earlier ... "Its no skin off my nuts."
check your humor meter ... picking on the prez has been a sport for a long time. have you never watched Leno etal?
Obviously you thought Mr Bush was a superior speaker than Mr Obama. Bizarre really when all you had to do was look at how both Bush and Obama spoke during their Presidential debates and to the nation on Inauguration Day.
They had a debate?
Hmmmm....2003 and 2007 are two different years you know

Indeed the poor chap must have taken all day to count up all those pennies
Those who are good with numbers, budget cut as a fraction of the total works out to be..
$100million/$3.5trillion = 1*10^8/3.5*10^12 = 2.9*10^-5
Which works out to 0.0029% of the total.

i think thats bogus, cause im trying to buy a ticket right now and it nowhere near 200...its over 350....and to europe cant find anything under 1300 so....they dont know what they're talking about.........
try yutravel.com i awlays buy my tickets from them and most of the time it adds up to areound $700 after taxes to europe and that is round trip. for some reason they now canged their website and it would not give you a quote online butcall them up the lady that awlays take care ofme her name is Sonya. Iam aboutto but a ticket for my husband fromher. they do have thebest deals from what i have experianced
www.itasoftware.com is a good start to search for low fares. It allows for flexible date searches on international flights and all. I usually book directly with the airline once I find the best dates with lowest fare and most convenient itinerary but the searching happens on ITA.
That is the best flight search engine out there but I do always check kayak, travelocity, vayama, expedia, farecompare, farecast, cheapflights, orbitz and of course the airlines individual website.

And in the Fox News poll....
I stopped reading there.
the rasmussen poll was an okay part ... and the fox poll wasn't?
No neither were, seeing the Fox News poll mentioned with the Rasmussen poll confirmed for me not to read on. It's all "Fair and Balanced" you know.

The GOP just can't stop the bleeding.
May it never stop till the beast is dead.
Great, a one party system. Just what the US needs. Be grateful that the two parties are actually different as opposed to the UK where I can't tell the difference between the major parties.
Indeed, Labour have become more and more like the Conservative Party over the past 10 yrs, good old political compass shows the change. The Lib Dems will save the UK!
-
Obviously reflects how out of touch the GOP are with the people and themselves.
Will we finally join the ranks of other civilized nations and ensure health coverage for all Americans? I think we will. I think this is it!Should have been done years ago, we're in the 21st Century and America as of yet cannot offer healthcare to all of its people. Looks like that is going to change finally, long overdue.

Good luck to all interviewees for this week and congratulations to those who were approved last week.

OK, just now getting the Evidence of Support forms all sorted out and my fiancee says to me she has her recent tax return. However I'm a little bemused by the fact that the 1040 according to her is 10 pages long! (With the W-2 only being a single page.) Does that mean she will have to photocopy all ten pages or is there like a summary (single) page of the tax return itself that she should be sending me. If so can someone provide a link to a copy of this form on the net. Thanks!

Interesting video about how some votes in the recent election was affected by the colour of the candidates skin. Reasons for this it seems that a lack of education isn't the only variable in a person voting for McCain rather than Obama because Obama wasn't white. I met some people like that the last time I was over in South Carolina, they felt Obama was a better candidate for the job than McCain but they were going to vote for McCain anyway because Obama was black. Personally I can never understand that logic.
And 96% of the black vote went to Obama. So what's up with that?
Nothing, Gore got 92% of the Black vote in 2000, Kerry got 95% of the Black vote in 2004. Watch the video, it gives an interesting analysis about the election and racism.

Looks like you can only embed videos from youtube, so I'll just provide its link.
-
Sorry about this but can someone embed that link for me on this message board, I'm not sure how to do it.

Thanks KAT&Allie and Ellie-And-David, I've now completed the checklist and sending packet 3 today.
-
Thanks for the queries
Just one more thing, I am due to send off packet 3 tomorrow, on the IV-15 checklist (2nd page) you have to write dates for three events. Is it OK if I put "ASAP" for Date of travel and Wedding, since we don't know those dates yet? (Naturally it depends on how fast they process our paperwork etc!)
For Date of Medical, I don't want to book this until I receive an Interview date because I'm thinking of doing the medical on the same day as the interview just saves me doing one round trip to London via train. What should I put? "Pending until Interview date received"?
-
Happy St George's Day! Rang up the State Department today and they said our Packet 3 was sent from London on Tuesday. As of yet though I have not received it, what class are the letters from the Embassy sent under?
It has also been over two weeks since I sent off for the Police Certificate and that has still not arrived. All I know is my cheque for the service was cashed on the 20th April (Monday).
Maybe I'll get two letters through the door tomorrow *crosses fingers*

About time as well.
If this part is true, that's shocking..
The U.S. spends enough on health care -- $2.5 trillion per year -- he says, but it spends it in the wrong places. The CBO says current health care spending could pay for one doctor for every seven U.S. families, Wyden notes. But many remain uninsured, while others get care they may not need or is too expensive -
Delta most of the time for three reasons:
1) Their transatlantic fares are usually the cheapest
2) Only Airline to do a non-stop flight to Atlanta from the North of England.
3) Skymiles - Frequent Filer Program
If not Delta then I usually go with KLM/NWA and fly out of Amsterdam instead. Never flown Continental, USAirways or United transatlantic usually more expensive though USAirways can offer good deals. Have flown with American Airlines before to Los Angeles.

George W Bush has a personality?
-
Perry is just a grandstanding chopf*ck.
1) If Texas were not in the Union, the Democrats would currently have a filibuster-proof majority in the Senate -- or at least they would once Al Franken gets seated. This is because, in a 98-seat Senate, only 59 votes would be required to break a filibuster.
2) If Texas were not in the Union, the Republicans would operate from a significantly weakened position in the House, since the net 8-vote advantage their congressional delegation gives them in the state (they have 20 seats to the Democrats' 12) is by far their largest.
3) If Texas were not in the Union, George W. Bush would never have become President in 2000 -- not because he'd be constitutionally ineligible (Bush, despite his Texas twang, was born in posh New Haven, Connecticut). Rather, he wouldn't have had enough Electoral Votes to defeat Al Gore.
4) If Texas were not in the Union, Barack Obama would have won the Electoral College 389-147 instead of 365-173 (note that there are two fewer votes total, because there would be two fewer Senators). The vast majority of Texas' electoral votes would be redistributed to lib'rul states like California (which would go from having 55 electoral votes to 59) and New York (34 rather than 31)
5) If Texas were not in the Union, Bush would still have defeated John Kerry 269-267, but Kerry would have an easier go of things, winning the election if he'd won either Iowa or New Mexico; he would not have had to win Ohio or Florida.
Makes perfect sense.

I've just completed all of the DS forms, that took ages! Why the need for all of these forms when they are basically asking the same thing time and time again, I don't know. Anyway just one query and that is about the form DS-230, do I need to send in part II of this form (Question on there about whether you want a SSN when you arrive etc etc) with the packet 3 or do I take this part to the interview with me?
I think that if you were to compare all the information requested on all the forms you'd find that All forms ask for info A, B, C, D, E....
But one asks for info X not included in others
And another for info Y not included in others
And a third for info Z not included in others...
They are multi-purposing these forms across several different visa types.
I thought you only did part 1 for the DS-230? Read your instructions again, I don't think the rest is needed.
OK Thanks
I have also just noticed that there is another form required for this process and its the DS-2001 but to me it just looks like the IV-15 checklist
Is this necessary?

That was quick
I sent back my Packet 3 on the 26th April, had signed delivery confirmation on the 28th April, rang up DOS today and they said according to their records London has not received Packet 3 yet.
