  1. You Are 34% American

America: You don't love it or want to leave it.

But you wouldn't mind giving it an extreme make over.

On the 4th of July, you'll fly a freak flag instead...

And give Uncle Sam a sucker punch!

  2. to be gay in our country is to inhabit a true second class, devoid of the option of partner benefits, immigration options, and generally adoption( excepSF and some other areas)...I believe that we are born into our sexuality...How terrible to have no rights to bring our same sex partner o live wih us, simply because of bias. It is terrible to be in such a marginalized situation without the option of reuniting with a partner fron overseas. I am grateful to have been born into a situation of privildge, that of being heterosexual. We are engaed in a grave injusice

I completely agree with you. I know someone who is in a similar situation, the only thing is that she isn't a USC or permanent resident, but holds a G4 visa.

I get a little upset when people say that homosexuality is a choice. Deciding what pair of pants to put on is a choice...I don't think a lot of people would willingly choose to be ostracized and many times killed because of their sexual preferences.

  3. And would you be prepared to do that?

Not right this moment...I'm still at the point of holding out hope...I can just see it now, I tell my mom I'm moving to Mexico forever...you'll never see Javier again...you'll rarely see your grandchildren. Oh she's going to die. Literally.

I see your point, but I think that you also need to remember that this is the situation that your fiance's parents and relatives are going to be in.....being together means that you have to compromise...

  4. For anyone who doesn't know about Italian politics, IT IS A DISASTER.

Honestly, I think he's the best leader Italy has had in many years, even though that doesn't say much. Italy is not the US, UK or Australia and politics don't function the same way-- The institution is not as fully democratic from the start with lingering effects of fascism and communism, but he's not the one threatening Italian democracy or justice. It's the attempts at coup d'etat via the judiciary, and the hysterical propaganda associated with that.

I wouldn't be running out into the street singing ALLELUIA because you have no idea what comes next. Nothing is quick in Italy--an Italy that needs LOTs of changes.

Ace, I studied Italian politics in Italy and Berlusconi's government certainly was not the best leader that Italy has had...not at all. What he managed to do is to market his Forza Italia party very well to the point where he had both houses of Parliament...this then allowed him to stay in power for his whole term. Don't equate staying in power with being a good leader....why do you think that they had to pass the par condicio law? I lived in Italy under d'Alema's administration and under Berlusconi's and let me tell you, there was definitely a difference....

  5. Yeah, I saw it. What do you all think about the message at the end, that parents treat their children like friends and spoil them because they are lonely?

I think that sometimes parents look to find in their children the affirmation that they can't find anywhere else.

  6. My husband and I are hooked on Dog Whisperer and just had to see what South Park was going to do with him...omg how funny was that :lol::lol:

Those nannies were funny.....I liked the reverse psychology from Cartman.

Oh yeah, nanny Joe and nanny Stella....but they had Cesar Millan down to a T.."I am the dog whisperer":lol::lol:
