Our interview was initially scheduled for Jan 7. It was rescheduled to Feb 11 so about a one month delay.

We had a very easy and succesful interview/test yesterday morning. We already have our scheduled oath ceremony: Next wednesday, 2/19/2014.

Almost done with USCIS!

^{4.5 years and all is well. Picture is our daughter and one of her cousins when we visited the Phils last spring.}

Well... after being the first in line we may be the last ones to get to an oath ceremony. The interview was supposed to be today in Detroit but with all the snow and extreme cold it was not worth the drive (3 hours one way with clear roads). I was not going to risk driving my wife and 2 year old in such bad conditions. The Detroit office was actually closed yesterday and I was hoping it would be closed again today. Who knows, we could have drove all that way and not known that they decided to close again today after we left home.

No biggie...Its not like we are waiting for a visa. I assume it will be at least 60 days before we get a rescheduled date (we have to mail the original appointment notice and a letter of explanation to the Detroit office).

Finally received our interview date: 1/7/2014.

Can someone please update our status? I haven't followed this thread much lately and I'm not sure some lines are now in red.

You can be in line for more than 90 days too. It depends on your local office and the their current speed. The 90 days does not apply to the inline status. For example Miami is currently processing close to 2 1/2 months behind. So I could be inline for 75 days before it goes to schedule. NY city is even way behind than Miami.

So it all depends on your local office backlog.

So why do they tell you to call if you are past 90 days? (The 90 days apparently does apply to in line status)

"On July 29, 2013, your N400, APPLICATION FOR NATURALIZATION was placed in line for interview scheduling. When scheduling is complete, you will receive a notice with a time and place for your interview. If you have not received the notice within 90 days of the date above, please call customer service at 1-800-375-5283 for further assistance".

It seems like who ever receives your call could look up you case and tell you the status. We were one of the first of the July filers to get placed in line.

So we are past 90 days since being placed in line for the interview. As suggested when you check your case status online I called the 800 number to report that we are over due.

The first guy we talked to put us on hold a couple of times and then said he needed to transfer us to an immigration agent. The recording said the estimated wait tme was 87 minutes! There was an option to leave a call back number which we did but they did not call back.

Is anyone else past the 90 days in line without an interview date? What else can we do? Thanks in advance.

For those that had their interviews were all the answers to the questions in the book they give us at biometrics or should we be studying extra material too?

There are only 100 possible questions which you already have - nothing else to know regarding the civics test.

I would agree with the "zero issue" sentiment. Although I did attend my then fiancees interview, they did not ask for ANY proof of an ongoing relationship (only one prior in person meeting). Of course we had a lot with us and everyone should, but one meeting in itself is not an issue and doesn't mean more scrutiny.

Can she get the CFO sticker at a CFO office AT MANILA AIRPORT by showing her class certificate? Is that a possibility?

Or will she have to head over to the Manila office? She would arrive at the office at maybe 2 PM

There is no "CFO office" at the airport.

I found this old post that was very helpful.

And now I understand why others have said to get your U.S. passport right away, especially if you plan to do any travelling since you surrender your green card and you surrender your USC with your passport application!

Then you learn you even have to keep your foreign passport if you want to enter into your home country.

Why would you need your old passport to enter your "home country"? Once you are a USC and have a US passport, why would you need your old one (you won't keep renewing it I would assume)?

My wife (then fiancee) paid the travel tax when she left the Philippines for the USA the first time in 2009. She didn't think she paid it when she left after visiting in 2010.

She is there now and is returning to the US in 10 days. She is still a citizen of the Philippines (US green card holder). Will she have to pay the travel tax when she returns?

I am so confused now! lol Ok, I am American and my fiance is British. We applied for a fiance visa for him to live and work in America. So what am I, the petitioner? I just recently moved back to America from the UK and he is in the UK waiting on the visa. We just got notification that we need more evidence. Does the information need to be mailed to me or him? We are traveling back to the Philippnes next week to visit family and show off our daughter (22 months old).

In the past its kind of a hassle to exchange dollars for pesos (at least at a bank) as they need to record every serial number on the currency you are exchanging. Is it any easier if you bring traveler's checks?

Also, is there a lot of WiFi available or will I have to use an internet cafe's again? I know my phone won't work but I'm hoping I can get data if WiFi is available.
