Hi Everybody,
I checked the USCIS site today aaaaaaaaaaaaannnnnnnnnnnnnddddddddddddddd we were approved yesterday!!
I never got the email so I'm happy I checked the site. Finally Daisy and I can start planning our life in America together. I appreciate everybody's support that got us through the last 4 1/2 months. I don't know what I would have done without VisaJourney....seriously.
Good luck to everyone else that is waiting...stay the course and keep the faith.
Nate and Daisy
Hello,
goodluck to the both of you and i wish you happiness forever...May god bless you always
-
Your post and your title don't match up, your title implies you will get your VISA in 3 months, and your post says just the NOA2 in 3 months... but luckily for you there is a good chance the title is right, you are probably about 1 - 2 months away from getting a NOA2, from there the interview is usually only about 2 months out. There are no gaurentees in this process though, you could end up waiting an entire year as some others have, it's not likely but it happens. I'm an august filer too though I'm late august and filed at CSC instead of VSC so I'm probably 40-50 days behind you in terms of processing times.
hi,
Oh sorry for this post and title did not match up,am newbie here. But anyway, thank you for sharing..Goodluck and tc..

I understand how frustrating it is to wait for this.
Remember that USCIS says the processing time is approximately 6 months, so you still have a bit of a wait before they will do anything for you. Our petition was approved 5 months to the day after our NOA1 and while we were at our interview the other couples who were doing K1 interviews were shocked that our process had been so "fast". Good luck on your journey
hello,
thank you for sharing and wish you all happiness forever..tc

OMG!!!!!
Hello august filers!!!My fiancee called up the USCIS yesterday asking about our case which is getting 3 mos next week...According to the woman who answered the call, she said that we have to wait for another 3 mos to get our NOA2...
Was very sad when my fiancee told me about it and we found out also that our case not being touched by checking our status online...we need advice guys!!!
Our case will be at three months next week too. We have only received one tough 2 days after our NOA1, which was surely just putting it in a box or wherever it goes.
Also, if you look at the official USCIS timeline right now, it says that it is taking 6 months right now. So that is probably the most logical answer for the USCIS to give regardless of whether it could happen sooner or not.
Don't freak out! You are right on par with the rest of us; there are several forums for Aug filers where they keep tight watch on who's been touched, etc, etc (kind of like block parents...er...). I dont have the link, but maybe someone else could post them, because they can be comforting, knowing that there are tons of people with the same timeline.
Hello,
Thank you for sharing...
Hang in there!

Don't worry davra... We are on the same boat. We just have to sit back and wait. The most painful part - THE WAIT. grrrr
yea..too bad we cant do nothing but to wait!!!

i understand how hard it is to wait but most k1 get noa2 between four and six months so ur not really out of time line yet.........try to do things that keep u busy and communicate a lot with ur s/o
sara
Thank you for your advice...
They will definitely not entertain anything as the processing times is 6 months for 129F petition for K1. You can check the USCIS timelines for guidance.thank you happy dancer..

Perhaps the American men will find these more humorous than the Filipinas. Guys, be prepared for some change in your life when you get here home....
You may be married to a Filipina if...
While this has circulated on the internet for quite some time, I have no idea who originally wrote it, though there can be NO doubt that the fella has a Filipina wife...by the way, this is all in good fun, so I hope no one is offended by some of the broader generalizations here. Some of these items I didn't understand myself, but most struck a familiar chord, and my wife enjoyed it (well, most of it), so I figure it's safe for public consumption.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
You may be married to a Filipina If... (written by an American guy who loves his Filipina wife in spite of the numerous irregularities):
* Your refrigerator is always full but you cannot find any food that you recognize
* Instead of a dowry, you got the whole bill for the wedding and honeymoon
* Most of the decorations in your house are made of wicker
* You are expected to be able to read her mind just by watching her eyebrows move up and down and by the way her lips are pointed
* All her relatives think your name is "Joe"
* The instant you are married you have 3,000 new close relatives that you can't tell apart
* Your house isn't really on fire, you've just got a very charred fish on top of the stove burner
* All the desserts are sticky and all the snacks are salty
* She eats her fruit with giant salt crystals and her fried chicken with ketchup
* Even the ketchup tastes weird...very weird
* You throw a party and everyone is fighting to chop the leathery skin off a dead pig
* All your kids have 4-5 middle names
* Your in-laws take 10 years to acknowledge your existence and to call you by something other than "that white guy"
* You try to call her up on the phone and someone tells you "for a while" and you want to know "for a while, what??"
* You are trying to go to sleep and she keeps asking for the comFORT'r, and you ain't got a clue what she's talking about
* Your first Christmas present is some funny looking, baggy, see-thru shirt made out of leftover lace doilies
* Your phone bills are composed mostly of international and calls that average 3 hours each
* She sweeps with something that witches usually fly around on
* Her idea of classy, expensive champagne is Asti Spumante
* The rice cooker is on 24 hours a day and uses up 50% of your electricity and food budget
* On your first trip to the Philippines, you have 18 giant boxes that weigh 1000 pounds each and your "carry on" luggage requires a small forklift truck
* The same luggage is over filled with things that cost an average of 15 cents each like old magazines and M&Ms -- the worst part is when you get off the plane, the same stuff you've been hauling around half way around the world is available in every store in the airport for half the price!
* All her pajamas look like they were worn by the Dalai Lama until they got too faded and he discarded them
* The first time she's pregnant you have to go out at 4:00 in the morning looking for some weird type of greasy sausages, green mangoes and bagoong
* You buy a new $500 freezer so she can store 200 pounds of SPAM and CORNED BEEF that was on sale
* Everything in your house was bought on sale, even if you don't need it ... that it was a "bargain" is all that matters
* She gets really excited by sucking the fat out of pig knees
* Your daughter gets her ears pierced when she's 2 minutes old but your sons are not circumcised until they turn 21
* All your postage bills instantly double
* You hire a Ya-Ya because your wife ckeabs mirrors with soap and a sponge and the Ya-Ya seems cheaper than a divorce
* The only "white meat" she likes is YOU. And that's if you're lucky...
* Her favorite sauce is called "patis." Americans call it turpentine
* She actually thinks that bowling and golf and billiards are real sports and are more important than baseball and football
* You were married 5 years before she explained to you that "ARAY!" doesn't mean "ooh, baby!"
* She prefers bistek to beef steak
* Her idea of new upholstery is rinsing the bagoong stains out of the slip covers
* She can eat and talk at the same time; in fact that's her specialty!
* Her favorite meal is leftovers, her favorite fancy dessert is Jell-O mold and for something REALLY romantic, she'll offer you a halo-halo with 2 straws
* You still don't know the difference between manong and manok
* She and the kids are always saying "Daddy made utot" and you still don't know what it means, but they think it's pretty funny
* Other than eyebrow raising and lip puckering, her next most expressive form of communication is grunts and pssst's
* She goes to the movies just for the AC
* Her homeland has more Megamalls than islands
* Before every holiday and visit, her sisters fax you a 10 page "bilins" list which says "suggestion only"
* Your kitchen table has a merry-go-round in the middle
* All the vegetables she buys at the Filipino store look like they were grown at Chernobyl
* Her friends are named Chinky, Girlie, Boy and Bimbo and NO, you are not allowed to smirk
* Her home economics course only taught shopping, eating and siesta; cooking, cleaning and sewing were not electives
* Her idea of edifying reading is gossip magazines
* All your place settings have the silverware backwards and there are no knives
* She washes her hair with a bucket and her car with a broom
* Her favorite book (she has 3 copies) is "1001 New Recipes for Pig Parts You Were Gunna Throw Out"
* You are the only family in a 200 mile radius with 2 Betamaxes, 3 televisions
* She's done her best job planning a surprise party for you if she manages not to tell you about it until a week or two before
* She "cleans" her closet by throwing all the ####### into your closet
This is just partly true and partly not.. Some of them are different than what other people think of.. I dont think this post is funny.. it is more kind of humiliation..
I agree w/ you..i dont think its funny..

Hi everyone!
I thought of making a record of the US whereabouts of each VJ member from the Philippines. This will give us a idea which member is living close to the city/state we are in and maybe we would want to meet each other in the future. After I gather the information of all members, I will make a table by city and state for everyone's reference. Are you game?
I'm starting with mine:
City: Mesa
State: Arizona
fredericksburg,Virginia..

Hello VJers,
Out of curiosity, as this comes up every now and then.
Awhile back I heard a report on CBC radio that multi-lingual people think faster than unilingual people.
That their brains have learnt to compute and solve problems quicker.
Interesting.
What I like about being tri-lingual, with bits and pieces of a few other languages, is how that opens one up to the various cultures.
What say you?
Hello to all the member's here,
Aside from my own language,i can speak japanese and english...I wish i could speak more....lol

Distance cannot, and will not hurt a bond between two people that is based on mutual respect, trust, commitment, and love.
Although you may feel like you are losing faith in your relationship at times, hold fast and trust your heart!
I, like you, truly believe that love & relationships are what make your life special, and that ones built on love & understanding are always worth preserving, regardless of the miles that may separate two people.

hi!!!Any filipina here na nsa states na w/ husband..If you guyz na may step daughters, please give me some advice on how to handle it specially to the 11 and 13 years old kids...Your advice is truly appreciated...
I'm a step mom of a beautiful 7 years old. My advise don't get involve in term of disciplining with kids leave it to bio parents if you have concern about how the kids treating you talk to your husband cause sometimes kids can be mean and very manipulative. I belong to other forum also about step parents it helps me dealing with my step daugter you can PM so that we can exchange note.
thank you so much for your advice..How old r u?am 28 years old,so honestly,at this point i still dont know how to handle this kind of case..The only good thing now is,we have a good communication,we talked often by chatting in yahoo after i'd talk to my fiancee. But still i dont know yet what will happen when i get there, cuz i didnt met the kids in person yet..

P.S. Sa totoo lang, nahirapan akong magtagalog. Sana bisaya na lang, ipagpaumanhin po
