Hi Everyone,

I am new to this forum. I recently got my 10 Year green card and eligible to apply for citizenship.

I plan to send in the complete citizenship package by 3/1/2013.

I will be traveling to Costa Rica for vacation for 7 days on April 19th to April 27th. I believe I will get a Bio date somewhere around March 3rd week if I send my papers in on March 1st.

I need help with the following questions:

1) Can I travel after applying for Citizenship ?

2) What is average processing time to get an interview date from the time of applying. I will be applying to the Dallas, TX office.

You can apply for citizenship 90 days before 1 year.

Nope, you can't travel while you're in the process for citizenship.

As of now,processing time in dallas takes 5 mos but maybe faster than that.

Hi has anyone here underwent treatment outside St. lukes hospital? I really dont know how to start the process because according to my father when he went there yesterday the nurse was on the rush and just told him he is going to have 6 months treatment, my father told the nurse he cant do the treatment at st. lukes coz he is working and he is from Mindanao. According to him the nurse didnt say any details as to what to do if he does the treatment in our local hospital.. I am going to call later but any suggestions would be great.. Thank u..

Hi! Unfortunately, your father has to stay near in st.Luke's clinic if im not mistaken he needs to go their everyday to take medicine and to continue the treatment. I hate those people working in SLEC, its their job to explain the whole process to their patient not leaving them hanging and thinking and asking themselves like WHEN or HOW?They should try to consider things like the distance, job, health and convenience.

I agree with you, waiting feels like forever. Am glad i am working at least i helps a little bit for not thinking too much this whole process.

I think both... Because when i got married my husband put my name on our utility bills, we bought a house and we both signed it,car insurance, health insurance, joint account and etc. my thoughts to you is submit all your proof of evidence,

I agree with all the advices here, filipina's are too emotional specially dealing with problems and family matters.All the filipina i knew including me,are guilty. lol!!!During the time i was on K1 stage, let me tell you i was so stressed,depressed and upset because i dealt with so many things but my husband was always telling me just look at the bright side always... Thinking too much the difficult things or situation made you depress and stress.

Hi!!! I've been in the same stage, i understand your frustration but thats not gonna help at all just think positive and always look at the bright side. Believe me it is really worth to wait when you are in each others arms. My husband ( fiance back then ) he almost give up and loosen hope , we got approved after 4 and half mos waiting (k1) we were so happy that it didnt take that long but things happened after my medical cuz i have to do sputum test and waited 2 mos fir the result, that was the time the he almost give up and so was i, but we just prayed chat everday, he cheered me up and i did the same thing to him, untill the result came and thank god it was negative. Then, interview for VISA i was so confident to get approve and be with my husband finally, but you cant predict whats gonna happened, i wasn't approve the consul need something from my husband a hand written letter explaining about the situation which is none of their bussiness at all, not related of what we applying or filed. Anyway, 3 weeks after interviewed got my visa on hand. At this moment i am still dealing this waiting stage but in another category. My advise to you is never ever give up, cheer each other up, always look at the bright side, dont ever let your partners down. Goodluck girl....

In my case I waited till I got married to get my SSN so that I could use my married name and it took me less than 2 weeks

My friend has a similar case,she was denied on her AOS,she did biometrics 3 times. The difference is she got married on her 90 days to be exact, filed the AOS after a year and I think that was one the reason why she was denied. She's been here in the USA for 4 years with no legal papers or whatsoever, as a friend I tried to help her told her about this website but she doesn't seem interested,they tried to fix it now by the help of one of our friend's husband.

Employers of course won't look at your ex

piration date because they have many more important things to do. However, as a legal permanent resident and an employee, you should notify them about your status. Dont let them find out it some day and suspect you work here illegally. It's not good!
