  1. I was wondering if anybody knows the answer to this. My Fiancee's cousin told us

for her Medical and interview they mailed her the appoiontment dates. She didn't have

to call them to shcedule it. Has anybody else had this experience ??

She said they got the letter from the Embassy telling them the date and times to be there.

    Thanks,

    Charles

You can go before the schedule date for your MED Exam. My wife just flew to Manila from Cebu 2 weks prior to her Visa Interview, go any weekdays not FRI cause its 2 days exams. Ingat! Make sure you have your NOA2 or Interview Letter, ID Card and passport and Php 10,500 thats how much she paid.

  2. Hi VJers,

I just want to know if can my husband(USC) bring my mother here in the US now? Im still in K3 visa and didnt file for adjustment yet coz I will file adjustment later...

    Thanks for the help... :)

Hindi puede yan kase kailangan ikaw ang mag file sa kanya. Pag meron ka ng citizen or hreen card holder duon puede mag request sa mother mo. Goodluck and for mother maybe 3-5 years waiting time when you get your green card.

  4. Hi,

question number 21 on the I-130 form ask: If filing for your husband/wife, give last address at which you lived together.

I was going to write this in: RECENTLY MARRIED; ONLY HOTEL STAY, DURING MY TIME IN THE PHILIPPINES

We were just married there on 3-30-09, so we never really lived together, only the weeks at the hotel together.

So, should i list the anser above or would it be better to just put N/A, or something else?

    Thanks much

    Steve

THATS WHAT I DID WE STAYED IN HOTEL W KITCHENNETT FOR 30 DAYS BECAUSE WE WANT TO HAVE SOME PRIVACY OF HAVING TO KNOW EACH OTHER; NOW MY WIFE IS ON HER WAY TO THE USA FOR GOOD. AND KEEP THE RECEIPT YOU WILL NEED THAT FOR AOS LATER. WISH YOU LUCK

On Monday 13 Apr and Tuesday, 14th, my wife went to St. Lukes Extended Med Clinic and a couple of hours ago she told me that she passed her Medical Exam with flying colors. Now we are only one step away, her interview is on 21st APR, pray for us and wish her goodluck. It will be close to a year when the last time we seen each other. All of those stressed that she worried about medical was now in her back, she felt 10 lbs lighter. They took her passport, pictures, and fee of about PHp 10,500, and today gave her vaccinations paper and everything will be forwarded to the USEM. I will post a follow up on these one after her interview on 21st, April. Between now and Tues she will review and organize her documents again. Thanks to those who guided us... to many list to thanks.. will UPDATE...

Today my wife got up about 345 in the morning to get ready for her Visa Interview. She got there about 6 am, got in the line, inside, given number, filled up the form, waited to be call and when she was called by her name, it took the CO about 5 minutes to do her interview. She was told that he (CO) thanks the armed forces for doing what they do, told she was APPROVED, given the pink slip and she then paid Php 220 for Air21 and jumping and yelling to get in the taxi. She called me right away after she got home to her friend's house where she decided to stayed instead of the hotel. The money I gave her to pay for hotel used to MAG GALA or visit the Manila which I told her to do. Glad she did now waiting for May 8 and we will be together again. I bought the 1 way ticket in March for $ 910 but she told me she could have got it for $ 775 but HEY as long as she gets here, $ 200 more is worth it for the fare just to be with her.

I thank GOD for everything, thank everyone here that supported me and gave me guidance. Thanks all, you know who you are.... MMW,que, merle, happy, and the rest of the VJs. For those whos waiting, there is a light in the end of the tunnel... it will be good to know that our 1st Anniversarry we can spend it together.

    congrats!!

btw, did you pay for the vaccine or is it included in the Php10k?

and any idea what questions were asked??

Thats one of the reason the fee webnt up because of the MANDATORY vaccines. What question to ask, medical or interview? If its medical they pretty much like ROBOT, they do everything for almost everyone... nothing you should worry about unless you tetsted positve on TB or other stuff or x rasy need to be redo.

  6. any thoughts guys? :unsure::unsure:

hello all,,, I just got this off the DOD website

    "Document requirements

Please obtain the original documents or certified copies from an appropriate authority (the issuing entity) for yourself and each family member who will accompany you to the United States. All documents that pertain to your petition are required, even if they were previously submitted to the BCIS with your petition.

Note: Do not send any of the documents in this section to the National Visa Center. You must submit them at the time of your immigrant visa interview.

has something changed recently..?? or even though they say dont do it,, but we can still send the rest of the docs? any thoughts people :unsure:

wow..thanks for the quick reply.. :) yes, actually my sister sent in AOS forms, and fee is also paid. I just got confused a little b/c on the NVC website they mentioned that don't submit the docs with ds-230, bring them to your interview..so I wasn't sure what we are supposed to di  thanks though :)

    hello everyone,,,good morning :)

I hope someone will be able to clear out my confusion. I have read the guides but still...

okay..first of all, my sister (who is US citizen) applied for my other sister (married, husband and a kid) who is in India.

So far they have sent choice of agent, I-864 to NVC. Now they are ready to send out ds-230 to NVC (from India)

below are the questions that I had..

    1. on the ds-230 instruction it says dont send any documents along with yr ds-230 while some of the posts here ask about what to send with ds-230?

    2. there are two parts to this form. Do they just need to fill out part-1 and leave te part 2 empty and sign it when they go to their interview..??

or they need to fill out both parts and not sign it.(section 35)

Any clarification in this matter will do great...!!!!!

Thanks for your help in advance...

Before I can help you I need to know how far along you are. Have they generated your case yet.

Yes page 2 dont sign cause you sign those in front of your interviewer.. stated under oatht that was the person. You send the DS230 along with the forms that is needed with it, here is my example... because if you send one at a time, it will take longer and u will be ask for RFE, Req for Evidence.... goodluck! Why sending eveything from India, choose the AGENT from the USA, make it faster and easy to do paperworks and save time.

  11. Ok so I purchased the pin, which you can use a lot more than 3 times, talked to the operator and she tells me you do not even need to buy the pin because they schedule your appointment and put the date in the letter that they send to the beneficiary. So why not tell people this so we wont waste 20 bucks? Anyway I would just like to know how other people got their interview date, because I have been told I can not call and schedule.

Yup, you just spend your 4 value meals from Burger King, anyway of course they wont tell you that, thats how they get some money from us. I have friends that paid Document Verification fee in DBO which is no longer required cuz she filed for CR1 but she paid and its nonrefundable fee.

  12. Hello everyone!

Last week I've paid the IV bill and today when I called the NVC center, the AVR said that on april 16 they've sent the instruction package to the beneficiary. So my question is can my wife send the DS-230 with all supporting documents before she receives the Instruction package? Also I haven't mailed the AOS (I-864)package yet, because I'm not sure if I can do it as soon as I paid the Choice of agent bill or do I have to wait a notice from NVC when to do it?

Does it matter if i send just the employment letter, copy of last 3 years tax returns, copy of W-2's just for 2008, but no pay stubs? Are they going to ask for RFE?

    Many Thanks .

@@@ Send your PACKAGE only if your case have been GENERATED, if you send it to soon, it will take longer because they have to put it manually and find the right desk. Having a barcodes make it easier for them to place your case in the right person!

Why are their sending packkage to your benificiary, she didnt choose the agent? If the benificiaru chose the petitioner as the AGENT, it saves alot of time. You can e mail the Choice of Agent to the NVC...

  13. What does it mean? Anyone else has ever had a similar experience?

hmmm have u ever given a petition for anyone before? its prolly just a glitch in their system i was bared for like two months cuz they said i had logged in to many times took them a long time to figure out thats because i been WAITING so long.

    sara

You mean it may take two months until I will be able to login to my account?

@@@ its just a glitch unless you forgot ur passowrd. Goodluck!

  14. I sent the I-129F last Thursday by FedEx. According to their site and using the tracking number it was delivered next day at 10:30 AM. Today I wanted to print the receipt where it shows the signature of the one who got my package, somebody called A.Stanley. All ok until that part. By checking the printout I notice that the package was delivered to a place called St. Jebans instead of St. Albans. I wrote the delivery address correctly so I don't know how this happened. And after a search I didn't find a place called St. Jebans in Vermont.

Probably I'm being mighty ignorant here but I sure am worried. Did Fedex probably sent the package to the wrong address or is it maybe a typo on their website? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

    PEACE.....

@@@ Its misprint... STANLEY also signed for my documnets, I am now waiting for wife flight here to US. Shes done!

  15. Hello Everyone! Thanks you in advance for taking th time to read this and helping out if you can. My boyfriend came here from Guatemala in 1999. He was deported in 2000 and returned illegally in 2001. I don't need immigration lectures so please only helpful advice thanks! Anyway, we have a child together and want to get married. We saw a lawyer and she said get married here and we will apply for the waiver. I was always under the immpression we should marry in Guatemala, but the lawyer said it doesn't really matter. She said she has always been approved, but my big fear is that he will go to Guatemala and not be able to return. I am so terrified of this. I am willing to go to Guatemala for awhile to be with him, but because of my daughter and all I have heard about Guatemala lately I am terrified of this also. Anyone know how long he will have to stay there and if there is a chance he won't be allowed to come back??

We want to do whats right but I am scared of losing him.

@@@ Both of you stay in the states as if he retunrs to Guatamala, he is ban from entering the states for at least 10 years due to the deportation and now here illegally. Get a 2nd opinion from other immigrant lawyers that have experienced on deportation issues. Goodluck!

  16. Has anyone ever requested for early expedite approval for family medical emergency or anything else? I just called NVC and they informed me that HCMC approved my request for early expedite service. I asked the NVC operator if they have my interview date yet she said no. She informed me that what they will do is forward my case to HCMC and they will contact us whenever they receive the case (she said 2-3 days I guess electronically) and we will have an interview date set by the consulate as soon as possible. My case was complete at NVC already anyways but they haven't set an interview date yet and they told me if my request for expedite wasn't approved that I would have to wait the second week of may for them to schedule my interview and it seem from what I see from this board it would probably be in June. But now since they approved my Early Expedite request do you guys think I'll get it early May? I had a medical emergency in my family so I expressed to them how I needed my wife and I to come home as soon as possible and I am glad they approved. I am so glad to am about to come back home to US with my wife and see my sick family member. Anyone been though this before?

You must as well get your medical exam out of the way and get your fee paid if ur K1 so it will be less hassle. The way it works is for you once someone cancel their appointment for an interview and there is no one else in front of you in the same case ( med ) they they will let you slide in to that appointment.

Get your MED EXAM DONE, PAY YOUR FEE so when they give you interview your not walking around like a headless chicken!

  17. I apologize. What I meant was, I received an I-797, request for initial evidence. It stated that I had forgotten to awnser a question. The question is not my concern however. At the top of the I-797, Request for Evidence, it states that it was originally mailed on Mar 13, 2009. This was after I had just PCSed (moved to a new base). I had no address to give them, because my new mailing address was not on my orders. Instead, I had to first inprocess with my new base, then get the new mailing address. From there, I called USCIS, and changed my address online at their website. They told me that because the 10 day wait period was not up, I'd have to wait to request the mail again after the 10 day period. After the 10 day period, I called, they told me they'd send the letter again. And so they did. However, they remailed it ON April 15th, 2009. The due date for me to return this letter with the missing evidence was April 15, 2009. It is now, obviously, April 21st 2009. Would they cancel my package over this? I was wondering what the consequences of sending it now would be.

Or hoping that it may just be a mistake and the date wasn't changed.

    Thank you.

    v/r

    A1C Leslie.

When you PCSed to another base as I did few times, in your orders you have a forwarding address as you inproccessed. You could have used that address and they will find you in the base as you processed on Day 1. The best way is to call them again, tell them that you are in the armed forces and enroute to your new location. Call the Armed Forces liasion in the USCIS and someone there will help you out. Trying to talk to civilian that doesnt know nothing about military is sometimes difficult. Goodluck "AIR". If you have orders to go downrange or overseas they can expedite your case!

  18. Hi all,

For the DS-230, question 20 asks for places lived for at least six months since reaching 16. The first column heading says City or Town. Is it necessary to list the complete address or just the city/town for the first column? If we specify city only, what do you do if the beneficiary has lived in multiple address in the same city?

    Thank you.

We put all the proper address and got 2 PCC for the same city but different address;eventhough its like 20 mins drive diifferent.

  19. Today I called the NVC and the lady said it was ok if I didn't send in a police certificate as the station in Pakistan won't make us one til we have a letter from the embassy, and that my wife should take the police certificate to her interview.

BUT she said something which has me worried: that I need to send in the ORIGINAL birth and marriage certificates with my DS230 I+II. Really? The originals? That doesn't seem right. What has been your experience?

It says "original documents or certified copies of the documents listed in this section from an appropriate authority (the issuing entity)."

So if I have official translations of the documents, can I just send those?

We made a certified copy, send the real one to the NVC, when we have our interview we received the original back. Goodluck!

  20. Hi guys, I wanted to know if i have an address in the US, and a US bank account and a State ID, do i have to stay in the US, the whole time that I'm applying for the CR-1 visa for my wife. I was thinking, that I would apply for her then I could leave the US and go back to the country she's in and stay there a while, for example a period of 5 months or so. Then come back to the US a few months before she's expected to come. I'm using a co-sponsor, and after the i-130 form would be approved, I could have my sister send all the paper work required at that time to NVC by mail, since she would remain in the US. Does anyone know if this is fine? That the sponsor leaves the US for a couple of months while waiting on the Visa to come out?? I mean i think it should be no problem, that the US citizen leaves the country right?? Just that the Inteding immigrant is not allowed to enter the country while their visa is being processed, if anyone has any answers let me know thank you very much for your help.

You can do everything away from the US if you have someone doing your paperwork for you and have someone mailing you all the correspondences from the uscis and the nvc, dont forget the timeframe in each country.

  21. Hey guys...I know everyone is busy & excited about their own visa processes, but just wanted folks to know that I received the notification e-mail that an approval notice had been sent out on 4/20! I can't believe it! Now I can relax a little a get through the NVC process the way that I want to! Good luck to everyone!

    Congrats...

  22. hello all vj members..am hoping someone will help about my situaton cause i dont know what to do anymore...am really sad.

I had my medical and its already done and the result is okey but then on the releasing area they ask me about my daughter..isnt on the first day of the medical they gave us forms to fill out n one the the form ask"name n relationship of person travelling with u"so i wrote our daughters name cause i will apply certificate of birth abroad so its like i just assume that she will travel with me and they are confused about that..my daughtre is a new born,i gave birth last march 20 thats why her name is not yet included on my k1 application ..am still waiting for her nso birth cert thats why i havent called fedex to pick up all the requirements needed at the embassy..anyone who had the same situation?PLEASE AM BEGGING I NEED HELP..The girl on the releasing area said the baby might stay here in the philippines then when i get to US after our weding embassy will ask me to back home in the philippines n apply cr1,i dont know what is cr1..is that ryt?

*** Unfortunetely the daughter was born in the PHILIPPINES therefore the Birth Certificate need to be done in the Philippines. Also you need to call the NVC stated that you had a bay and was born last march so they can expedite or have the NVC ammend the cases to add your daughter. its not an easy fix thoug cause they will ask for your DNA nad the father. If the father of the daughter is not the PETITIONER, then they will ask for the fathers DNA and whereabouts, you can't bring children in the other country unless both original parents have permission to do so. Your finace should have call the NVC the minute you have a baby, this will delay your case due to new born baby and it wasn't file. Its complicated issue, yes you will have to leave the baby because it wasn;t on file yet was born by you. Start making call ASAP. And you may need to reschedule your interview, missing interview means you no longer wish to continue with your case. Is that baby yours and your fiance?

Oh sige pasenya na lang sa iyo pero talagang iba ang kaso mo sa lahat, mas mahirap sa iba. The other thing is I HATE to say this but I hate to say leave the bay to your relatives.... get a lawyer, even that still will take time.

Is the baby was born in the Philippines OR here in the states I may have misread that, ARE you in the USA, if you are, the baby was automatically US citizen by birth!

  23. @@@@ You need to cancel the visa and go the proper route, if you found lying about the case, it will be 10 years before she can even file to get to the USA. They just knowingly lied in their case. Goodluck and seek attorney soon!
