Hi to all VJ members.....Can someone explain to me the process of medical exam in SLEC Manila for a child 10 y.o. girl and will be turning 11 this march? Im just curious how they will examine my child? What are the procedures that will be done for her? We dont have interview yet but i just want to have knowledge about this. Pls.....give me info on this especially from those who had their medical exam with their child. Thank you very much your replies are greatl appreciated...GOD bless.....

my son is 9 years old,and he undergo 1st the TUBERCULIN SKIN TEST,and the next day we will back for his X-RAY,just because he got positive result but i guess all the kids was positive in skin test base on what i see in my batch with there kids.and the next day,we got the result me and my son together,before that my son got the vaccines:

MMR(measles-mumps-rubella)

HEPATITIS B

VARICELLA

dont worry your little boy will be ok.very easy and be sure bring some snacks,gawan mo diskarte hindi makita nang guard.

SPUTUM CULTURE is a diagnostic test used to detect and identify the pretense of bacteria or fungi with in the lungs or airways.and also it will be collection involves the patient coughing deeply to expel the sputum,if the patient is unable to cough deeply enoughto expel a sufficient sample,a suction tube or needle maybe used to collect the sputum sample.

and it is place in 9 sterile container containing a substance that promote bacterial and fungal growth,however if no bacteria or fungi grows,the test is considered to be negative.

as what i observed during my medical last week,it's alot who undergo SPUTUM,its hurts to accept,but we knows that u.s.embassy doesn't allow us to go interview as soon as were positive in X-RAY.

because this is transferable disease, but also curable as soon as you follow your doctor advice and everything will be ok.but of course for me,it's very worse waiting 2 months and if you positive you need to have 6 months medications here in the philippines. and x-ray again and if everything is okay you can proceed to interview.

to those who had or will have sputum test. what is/are the reasons why you have to undergo sputum test? what is this sputum test? is there an additional fee? how do they know if applicants need to have sputum test? its bad that you will have to wait 2 months. can we prevent it, if so how?

Yun can pay non-refundable visa fee at designated BDO branch. It costs $131.

You can go for your medical exam as long as you had your NOA2 just like some VJ members do. Bring the confirmation letter(NOA2), appointment letter send by the call center(If you already set an appointment for your interview), passport, 3 visa pictures, money (for payment 213.35 pay it in peso), black pen.

Hi, I would advise that you go to SLEC, for your medical if you already have your appointment letter for interview. I had my medical last Dec. 18,22 and I met different people there my seat mates while waiting for my test to be done.Some of them went with their medical without their appointment letter for interview just their approved petition NOA2 and the scanned NVC Letter they were allowed to have their medical but during the releasing of results the US Counter will get their Appointment Letter so they will know when they are going to forward the result of their medical to USEM, they want specific date when they should forward it .
