we sent the I-129 in august and I stayed from oktober until jan. in the states and we weren`t engaged at the time we sent the petition in. everything went perfect and I got my Visa a few days ago!!

I don`t know if it will help you, cause I can only tell about the german embassy, but packet 3 was a letter that just told me to look at the homepage of the german embassy and to follow the steps... and packet 4 was a letter with the interview appointment.

it's been a week since I arrived in washington! it was pretty easy to get in, only the question who I'm gonna vistit and if he's a us citizen.

so now I'm here in alexandria and I love it. but the best thing is to be with my schatz!!!

the funny thing is, that we still sleep on an airmatress, cause we moved into a new apartment and have to buy everything new, but it's really not easy to find a good bed!

so I hope everybody is doing well and let's look forward, only one moth and maybe we'll all get an awesome christmas present!!!

ps: we got 2 touches, but I guess we only got them, because we changed the adress

Ok let's try to understand his point of view. Does he have a choice on whether he gets deployed or not and when? Will he lose his job if he does not follow orders? Try to find out if he has YOU as his top prioritity. Sounds like he's trying to fit you and the wedding in accordance to what is convenient for him. I find it hard to believe that his superior / employer will not be considerate about making some timing adjustments to allow for this important phase in his/your life. It's the same concept as filing a vacation from work. Isn't he allowed that? The whole operation will not shut down without him. No one is indispensible. If you go through with the interview, you would be able to join him very soon and file an Advance Parole to follow him wherever he is assigned... in about 3 months. And he's asking you to hold on for years! As I advised above, do not go through with the visa application if you are not 100% sure he is treating you right. You will feel even worse if you went through the paperwork (and expense!) for nothing. From the NOA2 date, i heard that you are given 4 months to file the visa. You can schedule the interview near end of the 4 months. Then the visa is valid for 6 months by which time you need to have entered the US.

sorry, but it's not that easy! If you have a relationship with a soldier then you have to understand, that the army comes first. always!! if he gets deployed then he has to go! no chance to get out of that!!!

I know a lot of people who married before the deployment and got divorced after, cause the wife cheated on her husband or the other way around.

I got my flu shot yesterday... does anybody know if I still have to get the chickenpox shot, even when I had the chickenpox when I was 5 years old? (in here the shot costs 350 euro, that´s like 470 $)

oh thanksgiving turkey... I made my first one last year and it was huge. we don´t have thanksgiving in germany, but we should! on christmas we always make goose or duck.

I´m so happy and thankful that I can spend thanksgiving with my honey and I feel the pain of those who won´t be able to be with their love! only a few more weeks and all of that (stupid) long waiting has an happy end!!!

I´m new here and I hope I´m not to late to join the family of august filers.

I´m from germany and my fiancé is from Houston. we met in my hometown, where he was stationed as a soldier. happy us he got out of the army in aug 08. so now I don´t have to share him anymore

we sent our file at the 25th of july (from germany) and we got our NOA1 at the 13th of aug and got touched at the 18th of aug.

it´s so nice to know that here are so many nice people going through the same and share all the feelings and be there for each other!
