  1. hello!

I'm german and my husband is american and we started our k1 august 08, got the visa march 09, got married in april, sent papers for AOS in may, got EAD end of june and my greencard in september! more infos in my timeline. ;)

I got a job with a moving company here in dc, which handles international relocations. as much as i know there's no visa # needed to ship a container. just call a german moving company (I don't know if I can tell names here?) and tell them you wanna ship your things and then they send someone to your house/home to make an estimate. they will do all the paperwork for you and answer all your questions.

good luck to all of you who are still in the process!!!

  2. For those of you getting a DL......did you have to retake a driving test? or did you just take your issued DL from your home country to the DMV?

I didn't need to make a new test. not even a vision test...

I went there a week ago and I needed my NOA1 for the I-485, my passport with the I-94 (which was expired on june 10th), the lease, my german DL, my SSN and the marriage license and a letter stated from the DMV in Richmond that I don't have to make a test again.

  3. hello i don't know if this would help but i already have my MD driver's license..i went to MVA to change my name to my married name already. i just told them that i lost my driver's lic and would like to get a new card and have my new name on it..i just presented them my marriage license and in 30 mins i was out of the office. the clerk told me that i also need to have my ssn change to my new name and days after i was able to change my name on it without any problem.

so you had a drivers license before already?

how long did it take for you guys to check your files online on the USCIS homepage?

  4. That's so exciting! I wish I could send mine tomorrow but it looks like we have to wait until the 20th!!!!

My doctor cancelled my apt this week and the earliest I could get in is the 19th. It's the last thing I'm waiting on!

I didn't want to have to mail stuff twice so I'm just waiting.

ugh... that's the worst part... all the waiting... I'm so impatient!! all the waiting for the visa and now it goes on and on and... :(

we had to wait so long cause we didn't get the money together...

  5. Hi WAT - Welcome to May! By "evidence" are you referring to the evidence of your relationship? My list looks the same as yours, as I have the approved I-130 from my CR1 visa application. The only other difference is that I'm not including the tax transcripts and the employment verification letter. My husband is self-employed so I didnt think a letter from himself talking about how much he values himself in his current position would be all that convincing!

    hi rexalite!

yeah I ment the evidence of relationship. I thought we just have to show it at the interview...

I got the I-693 papers back today. They are in a sealed envelope. Do I have to send the whole thing? I mean I'm not allowed to open it so I couldn't make copies... The doc just gave me a copy of the first page.

Oh we'll send it tomorrow!!! I'm so excited!:dance:

    what you think??

    @kaye

I don't know a doctor in baltimore, but I have a good immigration doctor in alexandria, where I live. If it's not to far for you then you should call:

Dr. Imtiaz A. Choudhary, Travel Clinic

    6226 Old Franconia Road

    Alexandria, VA 22310

    Tel: (703)313-5060

  7. 1. The File number where it says "A" is where your alien registration number goes :)

    2. yes, you do have to send in a I-693 since you haven't completed the vaccination requirements yet. If one vaccination series is still in progress, they'll give you the "Insufficient time interval" waiver, so you don't have anything to worry about. When is your 2nd hpv shot due? Actually i think you only need one hpv shot to start the AOS.

Thank you for your fast answers!

I got my first shot in the middle of febr. so I think it's time to get the second one some day in april!

  8. hey everybody!

I hope I can join you April Filers soon! Our wedding date is the 13th of April and I try to get all the papers together...

I hope someone can answer my 2 questions... on the G-325A in the upper right corner it says "File Number" and then an "A". Does it mean my Alien Regristration Number?

I have almost all my vaccinations, just missing the 2nd (which will be done this month) and 3rd HPV shot... do I still have to to file the I-693??

Wish you all a nice weekend!! :)
