  1. guys, thank u for ur sympathy and effort advising me what to do... u guys are right, calling the bus company didn't solved it but going there in person did.

i went to the hk airport and headed to the cityflyers bus co. , from there, i sought for the co. officer and explained to him what i have been through. without hesitation, he went inside the lost-and-found-room. when he came back to me, he ask for my passport so i handed it to him. then he went in again and when he came back for the last time, wwwwaaaaaaaaaaalaaah!!! he was holding our visa packets... dang i was shouting!!!

he said the call center agents are not able to tell me that they have found my items bec. the items are not at the service center yet. it was due to be turned over on Friday. that's how the cycle goes. had i not gone there, i could have been contacted on Saturday and i may have probably had flown back to phil. or canceled my flight this Sunday by then.

lesson learned. ill be guarding these docs with my life. hope u do too... u don't wanna go thru the stress and tension i went, trust me..

again thank u guys for reaching me out. u helped me a lot!!!

I just read this forum today and I'm so happy that you were able to find it. I can totally understand your stress when that happened coz I also thought that I ruined the packet when I received it. I was sleeping then when my cousin called me to inform that I have a delivery from Delbros, so I got up immediately and signed to received it and the delivery guy was teasing me that I finally can go to US. My cousin was so then excited for me offered to open it for me...I was so stunned then when i received it so I let her open the envelope...after that she showed me the warning not to open. I was so mad then thinking that I made a mistake and blamed myself for letting my cousin open it. Eventually after reading the information here in VJ, i just did right coz I did not open the brown envelope.. just the transparent envelope.... I was a nightmare for me....

That's my story of the stress just waiting for that final packet to come.

But all is well now.. so just celebrate that everything ends well.

    Have a great life!

  2. We went to CFO at St. Marys it took 2 total hours, No problems, no requests for pics, etc.

I had heard CFO at PRISM was like a interrogation, so we passed on that place......

Hi I think I saw you in US embassy Manila when I was processing my papers too!! I envy you then coz you're with your honey ( I went there alone).

When I attended the CFO seminar at St. Marys' and had my passport stamped, everything went A-Okay.. I was just wondering who conducted the counseling and and asked the rude questions for those who had bad experiences.

The staff assigned in St Mary's are nice, the lady who showed the videos and also the other lady who conducted the one-on-one interview.

For the FOREIGNER husbands, don't worry about the interview. The people there just want to make sure that Filipina's wants to be with you for the right reasons which is LOVE and not for any other crappy reasons. They present the worst and the best scenarios for Filipinas who married a non- Filipino and made sure that these Filipina's are ready to face a new adventure in their life- being married in a foreign land, that is.

That's really great!! I'm glad that you will be getting your EAD soon. I also submitted my AOS almost the same time as yours but I got an RFE.. I hope I can get mine too!!

  6. Apparently you forgot to submit Form I-864 for your original sponsor that petitioned for your K-1 visa (your husband/wife).

If you have a co-sponsor, you always have to submit Form I-864 for the original sponsor as well - even if they don't have any income.

    Hope that helps.

We already submitted the I-864 Affidavit of support which my husband did. I guess we have to submit the I-864 again. I only have my husband as the sponsor. We don't have co sponsor. They may think that we have a different sponsor aside from my petitioner/husband.

    Thanks for the advise!!!

Just send what they ask you for. I got a rfe a tew weeks ago for stuff that I sent when i filed. Anyway when I called USCIS I was told to follow orders. JUst send it out A.S.A.P. MY RFE was recieved on Oct 8th and it was approved on the 13th. I got my letter of approval in the mail today.

Thank you so much for the response. We'll have it photocopied and we'll send it as soon as we can.

  8. Hi everyone!!

I am just new here and have a question about my AOS application. We submitted my I -485 AOS and I-765 last Sept 21st. We got the NOA for both application and had already my FP last Oct 17. However we got another letter which is the RFE for the affidavit of support which we already submitted.

I'm just confused if we need to submit the same papers all over again or they are asking for more evidence. The yellow letter only stated "to submit a completed and signed Form I 864 Affidavit of Support for petitioner/sponsor listed on Form I-130 or Form I-129F. Even if a joint sponsor will be used the petitioner/sponsor must submit Form I-864, whicj we already did.

I tried to call NCSC 1800-375-5283 but I can't get hold of a live person.

    Please advise!!

    Thanks!

  10. I believe its perfectly fine to use your married name, I did. Haven't recieved any RFE's yet. Seems like applying in your maiden name would just end up being a hassle later because you'd have to change everything like your EAD and green card.

You should have included a copy of your marriage certificate in the package, so they will see that you are still the same person that's listed on your birth certificate.

Just a note though, when you go for your biometrics, bring your marriage certificate because if you still have your maiden name in your passport/ID then they will want to see that and photocopy it.

We did send our marriage certificate with the AOS and EAD forms. I guess they did follow the name that I have on my passport which is my maiden name. Because I used my married name on the EAD forms but still they used the maiden name.

    Thanks for the advise!

  11. Thank you for the responses.

I really wanted to use my married name. But as per the instruction of the operator when I called USCIS, she said to use the legal name which is the name reflected on my birth certificate so I used it on the AOS form.

I hope its not too late for me to change it. I will just send a letter for the changes that I wanted and hope that they will grant it. I want to change it now, for the hopes of not filling the I-90 for change of name.

This forum really gave me a better insight on what to do with my papers.

    Thanks a lot!!

  12. Hello Everyone!!!

    Good Morning!

I already sent this question to the other members here and I am very thankful for their responses.

I enter US through the K1 visa and we are on the process of adjusting my status.

We recently submitted the I-485 Forms for my adjustment of status. I wanted to use my married name on it however when I called the toll free of the USCIS the operator said that for the name, I should use the name reflected on my birth certificate. I am also a member of another forum and one of the moderator there said that I just have to use my married name on the forms and my maiden name on the blanks that asked for " other names used". However, there in I 485 form, only 1 name is required, and there is no blanks or spaces to be filled up for " other names used" so I used the my name as reflected on my birth certificate which is my maiden name.

But on my G-325 Biographic Information and on my I-765 Application for Employment Authorization, I filled it up using my married name ( since there is a space asking for " other named used".

When we recieved the NOA for both I-765 and I-485, all the names reflected is my maiden name. Will this be alright? Do we have to send a letter to the local office ( provided on the NOA) that I wanted to use my married name instead?

Since most of the members had already gone through this process, I would like to know their advise about this issue. I wanted to use my married name so that we don't have to apply for a change of name.... I just don't want to encounter any problems with regards to names being used on our documents.

Your help will be much appreciated. Thanks!
