hi everyone,

i missed you all!! just checking in. as for my updates, i got my nevada driver's license on april 11 and yes, jamesnrei is right, it's a good year for us. USCIS has been pretty fast. i mailed off my AOS and EAD on march 10 and on march 21 i received a NOA for my biometrics sched. i had my biometrics april 10 (alone lang ako kasi big girl na ako sabi ko kay hubby, hehehe...actually coz we're not early risers, he works vegas time so, i didnt wanna bother him) then on april 25, i recieved a NOA for my interview which is slated on june 11.

i received my EAD on may 7th and immediately the day after, i went to the las vegas SSA and brought my EAD. i didnt try applying for a SSN without my EAD coz when i went to a SS office here in henderson (a few days after i arrived here), the filipina who assisted me told me i need to have my EAD first and it will be processed in the las vegas office. i got my SS card from the mail on may 15th, as stated in the letter they handed me when i applied, it will be delivered in 10 working days.

regarding SSN, my hubby didnt wait for my SSN bec he wanted to file on time kaya ayun ang $500 lang refund nya kasama na stilus dun. supposedly daw if i had my SSN then and na-file nya ko, it would be about $2000. malaki din so, sayang! so ping, what u did was right. did u pay for filing late?

btw, jamesnrei, how did your interview go? did u even go thru interview? tips naman...

you mean, automatically they send you your SSN? i went to a local social security office, hinahanap nila yung EAD ko befre they can issue daw a SSN for me. hindi din ako maclaim ni hubby bec wala akong SSN. sayang din yung refund. kaya hinihintay namin ung response ng USCIS. march 10 namin finile yung AOS and EAD, wala pang notice til now. and chicago lockbox din.

and wala pa kong nakikitang celebrity except for the NASCAR drivers, heheh

About your question, I have my SSN 1 month after i got my I-94, remember the officer did not attach ours on our passport when we arrived. I just sent our AOS packet last March 3 thru USPS. The Chicago office received our papers on the 5th, they cashed our check on the 12th, and today (that's 14th) I received our notice of receipts (AOS, EAD, Travel Document). Kaso may sabit,at first I insisted that my 3 y/o son needs an EAD (I-765) for his SSN but my hubby firmly believed that he does not. so in short naniwala ang gaga so without confirming it i sent our packet without the EAD application for my son. Then last week I checked VJ (ewan ko ba kung bakit di ko ginawa from the start) and stumbled upon a post re SSN for K2, K3,K4 visa holder and andun yung link for the guide. So un nga my son does need EAD for him to have a SSN! sighs... same goes for you too trinidad-lohner. so I called the SS local office and they verified even a 3 yr old boy needs an EAD before they give him a number. I made a call also to USCIS office and they told me just send my son's EAD form together with the copy of Receipt notice i received today. Hopefully wala nang sabit after that. The notice says next step is to have our biometrics taken and wait for the appointment letter. I don't know how long it will take for us to receive the EAD. This process is so confusing sobra, sayang nga di ka maclaim ni hubby sa tax nya, halos 2+ din un. So wait ka lang ng 1 week.

hmmm updates... I have my SSN now after the delay of my I-94. It was not stapled to my passport when I arrived, so I went to Homeland office to get one for me and my son. So now I have my SSN card we opened a joint bank account yesterday, and like nbfsb I have been reviewing too, I might apply for driver's license once I had my exams done (thanks minang for the tip), and I'm still waiting for my hubby's ITR to complete our AOS papers. So far that's it. I hope all is well with the rest of the gang.

Nag-apply ka na ba o kompleto ka ba sa requirements mo? Hindi automatic yan sa K1 holders. Sa CR1/IR1/CR2/IR2 automatic kasi.

hi manny, naconfuse ako sa mga posts dito...bakit nakakuha na sila ng SSN and they're on a K1 visa?

im on a K3 and a week after i arrived, we went to a local SS office and they were asking for my I-766 or I-688B (i think this is the EAD???)

i cant apply for a SSN daw without this. nabubuwisit na nga hubby ko kasi di nya ko maclaim sa tax refund nya eh dahil nga wala pa daw ako SSN. what do i do? kasusubmit ko lang ng EAD ko with my AOS nung march 10

i just submitted my AOS nung march 10 coz i just had my 2nd shot of varicella a week before that and we're hoping to have the a[[roval of my AOS after sept 25 (our 2nd weeding anniversary) para IR na makuha ko (hopefully).

well, like stephnria, malaki din nagastos ko sa vaccine kahit pa sa department of health ako nagpavaccine. 1st visit $245 for the Tdap, MMR and Varicella then 2nd visit $111 for the 2nd varicella shot. tapos, $30 ung transcription fee ni dr. arnold.

it's very much different here in vegas or nevada. medyo maluwag. since day 1, ive been driving with my international driver's license and 2 weeks after i got an instruction permit na without an SSN. di kailangan sa DMV dito. but binulungan ako nung taga DMV na i can still drive using my international license kasi the permit allows u to drive lang if u are with someone with a Nevada driver's license and i cant survive doing that kasi si hubby lagi nasa work. i went to DMV ang passed the written test, 2 mistakes!!! (yabang!!) then, i was scheduled sa actual driving test ko feb 23, 12noon bumagsak ako. hahhaha.. it's easy to learn but really hard to unlearn habits...###### ang examiner ko. di pa nagsisi,ula mainit na ulo. gutom na yata kasi 12 noon ang sched ko. im scheduled for my 2nd actual march 30th. wala ako advice kasi it's different per state at examiner at tyempuhan din daw sa mabait na examiner kasi ung friend ko dito halos bumagsak na sya sa poste nung 3rd take nya eh pinasa pa daw sya at nakakuha license.

ping, jamesnrei, may SSN na kayo? how fast na-approve EAD nyo? how many days from the time you filed it til the approval? did you submit it with your AOS? mababaliw na ko. gusto ko na magwork. bakit may nagpost dito, si minang yata, she's on a K1 visa pero after 2 weeks nareceive na daw nya yung greencard nya at SS card, tama ba?

do i just wait now? i've submitted my AOS, I-864, EAD, G325A, I-693. did i miss anything?

kasi now, im going thru the veccination requirements, i dont need to get another medical exam, just the vaccinations but i dont have the records with me (it's part of the packet you hand daw sa IO mo sa POE mo)...ewan ko kung ok lang sa civil surgeon na wala siya reference ng medical record and i read in some other forums na usually the dept of state forgets or doesnt forward your medical records to USCIS thus the consequence of a delay in the adjustment of status or an RFE (you will then have to ask a copy from SLMCEC again)...super worried ako...

pinglocalhostess, yes, im here november 30th technically coz my flight from HNL-LAS got delayed, arrived 12:10 am (30th), supposedly arriving 11:35pm (nov 29th) and day 1 here, i was already driving around...woke up and realized my hubby left for work, he left some money and car keys so, im off the road day 1, hehehe...btw, i didnt have a hard time at my POE (honolulu, hawaii)...i was just asked by the filipino immigration officer two things (how long have you been married and what's your husband's name)...i was thinking, yun na ba yun? then he wrote A1 on that blue card he handed me (the one you fill-out) and told me that i will have to go thru agricultural (same experience you had but, they didnt open my luggage or something, my luggage were on TSA locks so i really dont know if they opened them or what)...come vegas, my hubby was already there and we were wondering if that's it for me coz i told him about the A! on my blue card..he said, maybe that's it coz the moment you get out of those doors you're in vegas and the moment you got in honolulu technically you are in the US...tama ba? parang it was so easy for me, feeling ko tuloy may na-omit ako process.... :worried:

guys, does anyone here know what's next for a k3 visa holder (though i'm checking other forums later pero syempre consult muna ko sa pamilya )..my hubby and i went to SS office here in henderson, nevada and we were informed that we need to file the EAD and the SS office worker (a filipina) happens to not know specifics..she just told us to call the US Homeland Security about it but she's sure that i will be needing my BC. MC, passport and employment authorization form...batorney (este, attorney) manny? ano ba suggestion mo? i can't wait to work!!!!!

sorry, i've been away for a couple of days....errands and family matters...i got my visa afternoon of november 21st, friday...4 days before the visa got delivered which means four days of staying home and waiting...so, come my visa, rushed and did my errands...di pa din tapos til now...i'm not going to make it for thanksgiving...i begged off kay hubby coz i lost all my weekdays to do my errands and i need weekdays for all the transactions i need to make...plus my final pay will be released next week so hintayin ko na siya, hehehe...

im flying on saturday, the 29th, pero hirit pa si sister na dec 1st na lang at long weekend daw...i havent booked but based on my travel agents, pinakamura na talaga hawaiian air....and pinakamura magbook online...so, im booking my flight MNL-LAS on the 29th or dec 1st via hawaiian air (at about $620 MNL-LAS) online....so to those flying MNL-LAS (christian's gem, i remember you asked, hawaiian air is the cheapest), i suggest hawaiian air with 4 hour stopover in honolulu...ETA in LAS 11:30 pm...

pie, good for you, ako shipment at delivery center pa din...my hubby asked me to call delbros so i did then delbros asked me to text their hotline. hotline response: VISA PACKAGE FOR MNL***** WAS RELEASED BY THE EMBASSY AND WILL BE DELIVERED SOON. hello, kelan kaya yung soon?! kagabi ang text saken ng delbros, preparing for dispatch na...gulo!!! pero hoping pa din ako na today..sayang kasi oras eh...nagempake na nga ako at ayaw na makipagnego ni hubby na after christmas na ko umalis, gusto niya talaga monday or tuesday latest...nagempake nga ako, 50 kilos each yung luggage ko take note at hindi 50 pounds each, wala pa shoes and bags ko at kung may mga pahabol na pakidala...grrrr.... talag!!!! ulit na naman ako!! sabi ko sa hubby ko i-shopping na lang ako at undies na lang yata madadala ko sa total 50 kilos...sagot saken, wag ka na mag-undies!!! hahaha....hahabol talaga kami sa marathon kay bevs :lol:

kaya pagdating na pagdating ko kagad dun, asikasuhin ko yang bakuna na yan para naman ibang injection na yung mga susunod :lol:
