Yelena_USA reacted to amberlynnloves in K1 INTERVIEW QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS
Word of advice: we went for my husband's AOS interview Tuesday. He was so nervous! Poor guy. But the interviewer said she had a few more checks to do after we left so we didn't get an instant approval. On our way home about an hour later we got an email saying we were approved and his card was in production.
Nervousness is the biggest thing. Some nervousness can be expected. Your life revolves on their decision. But be yourself, be polite, professional. Dress professional. (This shows them you are serious about your intentions). Know your information. Know your fiance's information. If your fiance is going with you, that's even better. Show mutual intentions.
Good luck. Don't overanalyze questions or think too hard. Gut instincts are good.

Another place would be your embassies feedback and review page. Also I agree with amberlynnloves, it could be anything. Just make sure you are not nervous and everything will be ok, after all you are not trying to scam anyone Good luck

Yelena_USA reacted to HK12 in CAN HE ENTER AMERICA WITH K-1 VISA BY SHIP, NOT BY PLANE?
Actually, I know there are at least two other members on here that I have talked to who immigrated by cruise ship, and I met three people on my cruise ship who were immigrating at the same time as me. So it really is not as uncommon as it might sound. I really enjoyed my cruise - it was such a relaxing and wonderful way to travel, so if you and your fiancé can take a cruise ship, by all means do so! There are sometimes really good deals on repositioning trips by the way. Or search the Internet for good deals - you can save quite a bit of money that way. Good luck on your visajourney!

As long as its a cruise that she can embark where she is
its ok Miami port is a border port well equipt to handle
all levels of immigrants procedures, however as someone
suggested confirm with uscis. POE does not affect where
you arrive , you just have to confirm address GC should be
mailed to , Many ppl go through immigration in Miami then
connect to where they R going..a legal USA document of travel
is accepted at all ports.
Have fun on the cruise, don't over-eat & make sure she's not
prone to sea-sickness...anyways the ship doctor has remedy for
that.......dude enjoy

Yelena_USA reacted to spectec in WILL MY FIANCE BE ASKED TO SHOW MY DIVORCE DECREE AT THE INTERVIEW?
Chances are they probably won't ask for it and they did not at our interview however they could ask for any document. Its recommended to bring a full copy of the original application and documents to be safe.

You sent it with your I-129F petition to USCIS. The embassy should have your entire file! So, No they won't ask..
Good luck!

Yelena_USA reacted to Darnell in WILL MY FIANCE BE ASKED TO SHOW MY DIVORCE DECREE AT THE INTERVIEW?
I guess 'it depends'.
1. you sent certified copy or original document, not a photocopy? I-129F doc requirements are photocopy only, for the submittal.
2. it's great if all of the additional documents stay with the casefile as it travels from uscis to nvc to the IV unit. sometimes, that doesn't happen, things are discarded. rare, but it happens.
for certain, on interview day, must to show certified copy of divorce document. if you have a buddy back at home, can get it for you, send it to you or your foreign fiance. usually gotten at the county courthouse, the clerk's office (or whatever equivalent for your state), same day request when one goes in person.

A&B, that's interesting what you have found. Thank you for searching!
Leon & Mylen, maybe they should reopen it . I just like to travel by ship, and that's my personal preference. I like going on cruises, and I thought I can take my fiance with me. It can, in a way, be like our mini-vacation before getting married, like a preliminary honey moon .

I don't mean to be the bearer of bad news, but your fiance is coming from a MENA country and may very well be put on administrative processing for a lengthy period of time. I would hold of making any arrangements until he has his visa in hand.

I entered the US by ship on a J1 once. It was the first time I'd used the J1 so I had to hand over the envelope and everything. It was the same as by entering by plane. It was no problem. The port will have CBP there just the same as airports do.

I entered the U.S. by cruise ship through the new York seaport and didn't have any problems. Maybe contact your port of entry's CBP and make sure they are knowledgeable enough to process k1 visas.

Well, why not? It is a nice and convenient way to travel. There are people out there who are scared of flying, and that might make it easier for them (it was for me). Also, when I came by cruise ship, I could take as many bags with me as I wanted to, which made moving a lot easier.
Everyone does whatever they feel most comfortable doing.
