  1. hello all.

just thought i'd introduce myself into this forum. Need to do the same in the April filer's forum if i can find it. My official NOA1 date is April 22.

I'm Alan from Oregon, and the lovely lady is Onkamon from Hua Hin.

Welcome Alan and we really mean it. You have some homework to do but pretty much everything past NOA1 is in this thread. Spend a few hours on it, the FAQ and guides and we will be more than happy to hook you up on any question you might have. We are a pretty tame bunch who for the most part are at the final interview stage. Stay tuned and you will see some pretty cool information posted in the next 4 weeks.

  2. Also for the board. I saw the posts about needing to follow up with booster shots for immunization vaccines depending on time frames. If my Fiancé does so, does she need to bring the entire medical package with her to the hospital or can they just give her a letter that she can attach to the package?

Chada just did this 4 hours ago (interview in 13 hours). I'm almost 100% sure she did not take the sealed envelope to the Bumrungrad. She took the extra white printed document which I believe they updated and also gave her 1 or 2 more things to prove she had the vaccination. Remind me tomorrow and I will let you know if this even came up.

She has pulled 3 all nighters while working 10 hour shifts to get everything ready. I can safely say she is exhausted. She didn't do great on our practice interview session (10 minutes ago ) but its easy to understand why. Hopefully we will get 1 more practice run tonight right before her interview.

This whole thing has been pretty surreal. Its one thing to read it and quite another to experience it first hand. I cant really imagine how intimidating it is for the girls...

  3. We just learned something new on the Thai forum. If you got your medical early and its time for one of the booster vaccinations you have to get that done before you get the visa. Chada is working till 8pm tonight and will have to go to Bumrungrad do that when she gets off. She picking up the 200 photos of our trips today at noon. After that all that is left is to study the documents, interview questions and make the appointment.

    27 hours to go...

  4. Man its quiet around here...

Well we are 34 hours away from our interview (not that I'm counting or anything). We have both been burning brain cell's and the midnight oil to get everything ready. Its coming together but we will be going right to the wire with this. Hopefully Chada was able to get Wednesday off. If not I don't see how she's going to make everything happen. I am thrilled to get the chance to interview but when I think about how many people could go from sending packet 3 to an interview with 2 days notice it blows my mind. I feel very fortunate we got everything completed on my last trip / pre NOA2 in March.

We will be getting feedback from someone who is doing a K1 interview tomorrow and I will be sure to let everyone know Thursday morning how our turned out. Hopefully our interview debriefs on VJ will be of help to some others.

But when you sent in the packet 3 you told the embassy (form DS2001) that you had all documents and were ready for the interview!

Good thing you didn't wait for packet 4 before getting the medical exam!

Best of luck on the interview!

    John

Good Point! I think we were lulled to sleep thinking we had another 2 - 4 weeks after the embassy sent packet 4 or an email.

  6. "There is no rhyme or reason in the order people are getting interviews. After all this BS about missing documents and them not sending me a NOA 2, then all of a sudden an interview is scheduled? I wonder what is up their sleeve for the interview?"

It certainly seems like the embassy got another interviewer or direction to hit some statistics? Its just crazy everyone getting delayed and then all kind of slots opened up after the scheduling last week. I've never read anything where the embassy makes first contact and asks you to come in for the interview the next day.

Isn't Hillary Clinton supposed to be attending the ASEAN Summit in Thailand in July?

Maybe they want to clear the decks of all our moldy old files that have been stinking up the joint, before the boss shows up.

Exactly. I just keep thinking about the VJ FAQ section where the former USCIS guy said it was all about stats...

  8. Is it possible to go to the embassy and ask if they received the documents or is only emailing permitted? I know they received mine on May 23rd due to sending it registered mail but they have chosen to lie that they haven't even though I have the tracking number and know who signed for it. I don't care about whatever stupid reason they have for lying, probably to mask their incompetence, I just want them to acknowledge they have it.

They got our Packet 3 on May 12th. Last week they told us via email we had missing documents email and then POW the interview is scheduled for Thursday. Its a total ####### shoot but you could here something soon. It seems like everyone is getting interviews now.

  9. Thanks to everyone who sent us good wishes. The whole system seems to be huge roller coaster ride and quite unfair to so many people. Because of that I almost didn't post the info because of the what everyone on has been through. I really do wish we all get through without more problems.

Things are really hectic for us now. We have like 48 hours to get our 200+ emails and 200+ pics printed. Thank god I sent the 14,000 entry chat log before we sent in packet 3... For those who think its overkill I agree with you. What's different about Chada and I is that July will be 1 yr for us. We don't have near the time in relationship that 90% of you do so the "proof" is us doing the best we can to mitigate what the interviewing officer might be thinking.

With Chada working the next 2 days there will be little time for her to prepare for the interview questions. Between that and potentially missing something I think our chances of getting a 221g are quite high. The good news is we should have a list of things needed to get the visa by 6AM Thursday.

This is going to be one crazy week...

  10. OH MY GOD

The embassy just called Chada and asked her to come in tomorrow for the interview. Chada said she could not because she was not ready but she didn't want to miss the chance. The lady told her to come in this Thursday at 1:00pm window #5.

Can you believe this? We went from "we will contact you in the near future with a list for more documents" to scheduling an interview 2 business days later. Oh man we are not prepared for this. I'm not for sure how to pull off getting ready in 2 days...

    What is going on????

  11. One point that had been noted once by a member, I apologize for forgetting who, was that approximately a year ago around the same time, there was a significantly longer wait between the embassy receiving the I-129F and scheduling the interview.

Part of the reason I was lulled into believing that the longest leg was from NOA1 to NOA2 is that the K-1 Flowchart here on VJ states it's about 1 week from returning Packet 3 till the interview date.

My father told me today "Don't even begin to feel a bit of concern or anxiety until you say the words 'I do." then get ready for the stress!" I love the way dad puts things.

I think all of us were lulled into thinking the same thing. I remember being ecstatic thinking about having her here 10 weeks after NVC. Man on man was I wrong.

Thats an awesome saying from your father. VERY well put!

  12. I just read the new Packet 3 instructions on the embassy website. At the very top it says its OK to have the documents in Thai or English. Any other language needs to be translated. If that is the case why does everyone need to get translation and new seals?

:innocent: Because the MAN is Amrican can not read Thai and his assistant is blind can't find any document in the envelope

    ROFL. Thats a good one!
