When sending the application to remove conditions, do we have to send one a certified copy of our son's birth certificate or can it be a plain copy?
-
I guess I will have to wait and pay the fee...

Hi everyone,
My temporary GC expires November 16th... so the 90 day window before the expiration date would start around Augut 16th... can we file before the end of July?? Do they really reject the packet??

Would like to hear from Maguilart on how her new little addition to the family is doing
Hi!!
We are doing ok... trying to stay cool during this heat wave that just hit the west coast... yesterday it was 28C by 10am and 40C by 5pm...
Little Christopher is growing so fast, he is 6 weeks now... I am not doing so well though, it was a VERY rough delivery... had to stay at the hospital for 5 days after delivering, lost too much blood, got anemic(my hemoglobin went down to 5!!), didnt even get to bond with my little one until 4 hours after delivery because they had to take me to the OR to stop the bleeding. To top things off, three weeks after delivery I had to have my gallbladder removed... that was 2 nights at the ER and three days at the hospital after the surgery...
I am still home, got 12 weeks for maternity leave... honestly, I dont think that is going to be enough, I am still in pain... my mom is staying with us until the end of July, she is making things SO much easier!!
I wish the doctor had decided to do a c-section instead of a "normal" delivery being that my baby was so big and that I was in labor for 19 hours and not progressing... I guess that is what we get when we dont know the way "things work" here...
Christopher Alejandro was born on May 29th, 2007
9.59pm - 8lbs 6oz
Sorry I poured all this on you... I felt like venting!

Hi all
have anyone traveled to canada as a permanent resident? Do you need to get a visa for Canada?
I wanna know because we are planning travel there and someone told me I will need a visitor visa for canada because I have a Peruvian passport.. is that right???
Check with the Canadian Consulate in your city, you might need to get a visa, it depends on the country you are travelling to... We went to Cabo last year and they said that normally I would need to get a visa because I have a Peruvian passport, but being that I am a permanent resident I only needed to bring my greencard.

I responded yes... keeping them doesnt mean reading them... I think we all have things that sometimes we dont even remember we have!
-
Hi Doyle, nothing to add to the replies so far since they all sound good. I'n curious about your RFE though. What did you submit and what other documents did they ask you to send in the RFE?
12 months worth of statements?? Seriously?? I was thinking about sending just 3 months, that packet is going to be huge!!!

Try contacting the USCIS to find out if they redeposit the checks or send them back to you. If they redeposit the checks that bounce and there is money to cover, you are fine. If they send it back to you, you should receive it in the mail soon and will be able to re-sent the payment.

I am applying to remove conditions on my residence this June after our baby is born... so far, it seems it takes around 8-10 months to be approved and receive the 10 year GC... we are considering visiting my family next February... will I be able to travel then while waiting for the approval?
-
Awesome! Congrats!!
Now... what is the next step??
-
Congrats!! Your NOA1 is probably on its way!
-
If I remember correctly they only took my right index fingerprint... which I think was more comparison to the fingerprints that they had in the "Antecedentes Policiales/Penales"...
-
Vi,
I am sorry someone has made you felt that way... I wont say in the two years that I have been here no one has ever made me feel that way, but when someone tries I take it "deportivamente" like we say... and sometimes dont even try to explain myself because it isnt worth it.
One thing I find really entertaining... is some people's faces when I tell them things like "I miss my maid, every afternoon around 4pm, she would make sure I had my afternoon coffee"... it is funny!! I only say those things when I know I am around people who still think that people in Lima wear "polleras" and use llamas for transportation!!
----
About the checks "debate"... some people find it safer to pay with a money order than a personal check... I work at a bank and I have seen MANY cases of identity theft because their information got stolen when they made a payment with a personal check, not to mention cases of "washed" checks.

Thank you!! We will include Chris' mom and a mutual friend.
Vi, we are still waiting... 2 weeks to go!!!

When putting together the packet to remove conditions on Residency... who is best to have write the Affidavit about the couple's relationship? A friend or a family member?
If it is a family member, would it be ok to if it is the USC mother?
-
OMG!! Kearinne, you are already on that process! Awesome!
We will wait to have our baby so we can submit the paperwork...
Nice to hear from you!!!
-
Better to be safe than sorry... You will be thankful you have a copy of everything you sent to the USCIS, with all the "pressure" coming along with the interview some details might be blurry and could be a red flag for the interviewer.
Good luck!

I was wondering if anyone could help me with this problem:
My fiance will have his interview soon and we are still working on proving our ongoing relationship. I have called him many times on calling cards. When I called the calling card company, they told me I could subpoena the calling card company to get calls from a card or cards, but then the lady from the legal subpoena office of the calling card company told me that since those cards are prepaid and throw-away, (the kind I bought form a grocery store,) that they would not have any record of my calls -- even with a subpoena.
I heard that there was a woman who posted on visa journey at one time who obtained proof of prepaid calling card calls, and she bought her cards from a gas station. I have no way of accessing her posts. Does anyone have any ideas about if I can access the calls I made to my fiance with pre-pay grocery store calling cards?? Also, does anyone remember seeing her post and know how to access it?
I would focuse on other type of proof, like emails, letters, cards, pictures... I havent seen the post you are talking about, maybe you can try on the "other side" by that I mean... proof of received calls.
When we went through the process, we didnt provide proof of phone calls at all.
