  1. I mailed my I751 on Aug 29th, they received it on Aug 30th, however the check didnt clear my bank until Sep 21st... on the back of the check I can see that it was deposited in California in a different bank than mine therefore the delay on clearing my bank account.

The check wont clear your account until your bank receives it from the bank they deposited in... it might take a few days depending on which Federal Reserve we are talking about.

  2. I tried ginger in various forms, but it's absolutely disgusting to me. I've pretty much tried everything everyone's recommended, but have found very little relief so far.

Oh, well...at least my baby is doing well

Isnt it funny when you get advise from EVERYONE and nothing works? I felt like a freak when I tried so many things and nothing did the trick, I had to get some medication from my doctor when it was getting to the point where I couldnt take it anymore. So glad your baby is doing fine!! :)

  3. Thank you maguilart, MandR, and Vi!! Luis and I are so excited about this pregnancy...but I've been so sick, it's hard to enjoy it at the time :crying: I'm sure it'll get better soon!

Vi, if it makes you feel any better, my husband gets very depressed about being away from Peru, too. He's making the adjustment well, but he never had any desire to live in the US. So we have our bad days along with the good.

Hang in there...you have a lot of support from your Peruvian/American friends here

Tracy, have you tried the ginger? i hate it... but some people swear it works...

  4. Felicidades TracyLuis

I'm so feliz for you guys!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Your good news made my day.

I'm a little bit sad 'cause my little sister left last saturday, you know how sad is to say good bye, I cried all saturday, we really miss her at home I got so used to have her here with me. She had a great time in NYC but she said that she can't see herself moving to the States, it's too diferent to Peru.

My hubby sees me really depressed and he says that I should go back to visit my family for a month so I can recharge my batteries, I found an awesome price $463!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! round trip and all the fees included via Lacsa, with a few stops but I don't care, I need some family time  the only problem is that my green card expired on July 3rd and I still waiting for my 10 year green card, it can take up to a year :crying:, of course I can't leave without being sure that I can come back to the States.

    That's it

    have a great day amigos!!!!

    Vi

Vi, i think if you have the noa1 with the greencard extension you can fly with no problem... sorry your sister left already... :(

Any of you had parents go for tourist visa interviews in Lima ?

What did they ask, what did they look at ?

    Hi,

My mom got a tourist visa on 2005, that was the first time she came to the us... they asked her where I was living, when I moved here and if she had any other daughters/sons besides me... they looked at her pay stubs and that was it.

Is your mom coming for the delivery? Does she have a visa already?

    How is the pregnancy going??

    Hi Melissa

Thanks for getting back to us.....

Rossy is actually in Lima for a weeks rest and buying baby clothes. It will be her last time there before the baby arrives until we all go for Christmas next year.

The pregnancy is going just great........amazing to feel him moving around and at times alot.

Rossy's Mom is coming for the delivery. She has never applied for a tourist visa before. She is retired, receives the retirement that the government gives, owns her own condo/apartment and has some monies in the bank. So I hope that will be enough evidence for them to see that she will return to Peru.

They are both so nervous that she will not get it and not be here for the delivery.......

I hope you are all doing well and that you have recovered from all that you went through

Im glad she is there with her family, it is so exciting!! Im sure they all are thrilled just by seeing her being pregnant... :)

Tell her to go to Casas & Ideas, they have really cute stuff for babies, I got some gauze diapers really cheap there and regret not getting more!! I hope it isnt her case, but I got a stomach bug when I was there pregnant... I think my body got used to the water here... tell her to eat mostly cooked stuff... ;)

Rossy's Mom got her Visa. They only gave her 6 months, but at least she got one to be here when the baby arrives.

Out next step in the ongoing process is filing for the I-751 removal in March '08. Just hope they move along with that process as our entire family are booked and paid for a weeks cruise in July '08 and Rossy's card expires in June '08

That is sooo cooool!! Im so happy for you both and the baby!! Having both Grandmas around makes a huge difference... :)

Where are you going on a cruise?? When is the baby due again? Is it a boy or a girl?

  6. Hi guys!

MandyR you asked about the visa process for parents, my parents got their Visas last year, they told me that was pretty easy but they got a little nervous. They brought as many documents as they could but the guy who interviewd them checked just the letters from my parents jobs and an invitation letter that me and my husband sent. Some people told me not to do that but we went for it anyway and according to my mom that helped alot.

My parents got 10 year Visas and my brother and sister 5years (they are students).

Mucha suerte for you mother in law  does she have an interview date?

    Saludos

    Vi

    Hi Vi

Thanks for the info.... the interview date is this coming Tuesday Sept. 4 at 8:00am. Don't know if thats the greatest day to have it after them coming back to work from a long labor day weekend. We'll just keep our fingers crossed that she's able to get it.

  10. Hola a todos!

MandyR, how funny, we've decided that if we have a baby boy we will name him Sebastian, I love that name, and if it's a girl is going to be Sofia. Let me know if you come to NYC.

Melissa, I always check my hi5 and I have to say that your baby is the cutest little thing, and you are right, looks just like daddy.

Tracy, how did your hubby enjoy his trip to Peru and how is his brother doing?

    Saludos

    Vi

Thank you Vi!! I am going to miss him sooo much when I go back to work... :(:crying:

  11. Thank you!! I am surviving, that is as much as I can say, I had to go back to the doctor yesterday and some of the stitches are still giving me problems and PAIN!! I know some of you might disagree, but I am very dissapointed with the healthcare provided here in the U. States...

By the way, who has the hi5? Mine is http://maguilart.hi5.com, I have tons of pictures of little Christopher there... :)

  12. Hi everyone,

I am doing ok, our little one is doing ok... I will go back to work on Aug 23rd, I am suffering so much about it!! But you have to do what you have to do, right?? :S

My mom left on the 27th, so it has been a huge adjustment, when she came, she took over the whole house and the baby... I dont know how she did it!! I miss her sooo much. I am hoping I will be able to go to Peru next February... Im a little bit worried about taking such a long trip with the baby though.

MandR... I am sure Rossy will have a great time with her family in Peru... she will be spoiled rotten!!! I hope her mom can get the visa and be able to come when the baby arrives, it will make a huge difference for her.

Vi, Im so happy your sister is here and that you were able to take time off... make sure you enjoy it!!!

Better go feed little Christopher!! ;) Can you believe he looks just like his dad and nothing like me?? That seems amazing to me, specially since(in theory) I have the strongest genes... like dark hair, dark eyes, darker skin... but this little guy has light brown hair, very light skin and it seems he is going to keep the blue eyes he's got!!
