  1. Maybe just the email notification about the transfer to Csc but delayed. Has online tracking changed?

I got a weird email from USCIS today that didn't really make much sense to me?

Ohohoh karri, that just means csc received it! Read the first sentence carefully.

  2. I just edited the spreadsheet, I arranged it by date & color, it's easier to track, I hope you don't mind. Please try to insert a row on the right place when you are entering your data

Very OCD of you :P Just Kidding, looks great!

So wait, is there an explanation of the color system?

Edit: Nevermind, I worked it out, colored by date. I actually put my NOA date in wrong, so I changed my color and date. :dancing:

  3. TRACKING FOR I-485 JUST APPEARED, TRANSFERRED TO CSC TODAY, NO INTERVIEW! SCORE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:dance::dance::dance:

Wait just a min. Does that 100% mean that you have no interview if it's transferred???

Got my official transfer letter in the mail today. Am I the only one transferred so far from July? I dunno if I should feel special or nervous lol.

Hey Karri, since we're doing Bio 2 days after you would you mind posting a review/synopsis so we know what to expect, where to go etc? Thanks!

No problem. I'll even throw in the part about me being nervous finding the place!

Karri, I have yet to find a case on VJ that was transferred to the CSC AND had an interview, and I've been looking for a while. So I'm assuming yes.

And thanks for keeping us Clevelanders posted!

    [

Someone was making it all pretty as I was filling it out!

LOL that's funny how it does real-time updates like that, I was watching too :P

  4. Hi Everyone,

I am coming to join you guys. My Package arrived June 26th however my NOA's were dated July 1st so I thought I'd belong here more then the June filers :D

I already did my biometrics almost 2 weeks ago now. Very simple, 15 minutes in and out.

Oh just a quick word of advice, don't wash your hands or use those hand sanitizers, apparently it makes it harder to get your fingerprints!

Wishing us all good luck in the coming months!

Also I saw the other months have spreadsheets, do we have one I can add myself too?

    - Star

OKOK, here's the spreadsheet. Everyone add yourselves!

  5. Huh? Sorry you lost me. That's not how you get email updates. You get email updates by going to the USCIS website, adding cases to your portfolio to track and then turning on email options for those cases....

 I have email turned on but have not received any e mails. I just see the updates online then get snailmail. Just in case it is going to spam and lost in the 500 spam per day I get what is the @xxxxxx.com addy they use please? TIA

Just keep trying it a few times a day. Not that I am OCD or anything  Eventually it gets on the system.

    The email is uscis-cris@dhs.gov

I've been trying to track twice a day every day, but I don't really expect anything until he does biometrics. At least if it is transferred we'll get a snail mail.

  6. Got my official transfer letter in the mail today. Am I the only one transferred so far from July? I dunno if I should feel special or nervous lol.

Sigh. I'm hoping we get one of those soon... should be just a couple of days behind you. But we didn't put an email address on our application so we're not getting email alerts. DOH! :bonk:

Huh? Sorry you lost me. That's not how you get email updates. You get email updates by going to the USCIS website, adding cases to your portfolio to track and then turning on email options for those cases....

Ah, so you've got tracking. Our case can't be found so I can't add it. Suckage. For some reason I thought you'd said you put your email in the email box next to the Firm section on the I 485. Doh.

  7. You are preaching to the choir! I just keep telling myself "this is only temporary" to get me through it. I surely could not continue to live like this for long! We are barely making ends meet every month - even if he was working a minimum wage job, we would be MUCH better off. He feels like a house-husband, and I am the bread-winner...a position neither of us want to be in! Now, I wouldn't want it to be the reverse either - just want to both be contributing in all ways. Soon I hope!

That's EXACTLY how my husband feels! I enjoy having a house-husband to do the chores, but I'd rather have him earning ANY money to help make ends meet. We just spent most of our weekend figuring out how to stretch $200 to buy enough parts to make a new computer (we're technicians). We're using the euro he brought over as a supplement but that'll end soon enough if he doesn't get his EAD in September. :stressstressstress:

Well the good news is we are now in the on line system. The bad news is that it tells us there is an RFE on the I 485 :(

The letter was supposedly sent on Friday so I guess we will just have to wait and see what sort of idiotic mistake we made on the form :P

I swear you go word blind checking it 45 times and miss stupid stuff - oh well - time will tell.

hxxr - it seems it is just the way it is here, I don't know what else to say other than keep smiling. Anyone that goes through this without being a genuine couple are truly mentally ill

Wow, I'm sorry about the RFE, but you know, that means someone is actually looking at your case, so it can't be all bad!!! :star:

We should have our husbands meet! We are both in Cleveland, after-all! They could have someone to commiserate with...and someone to get together with while the wives are away at work! :)

We're on the near east side-where are you?

Olmsted, but I can bring him into work one day if they want to meet, I work at Case :) BTW, Karri's in Cleveland too, maybe we should get all three together, or the six of us could meet up for coffee one day!

  9. Just reading up at all the stuff Julia and I are talking about with the joint accounts and whatnot... Does anyone get annoyed that you have to do all this ####### yourself just to prove you're legit, and to top it off your spouse can't even help you? I mean, I get so crazy mad thinking about all the ####### we have to do just to prove we're a real couple, meanwhile he's sitting at home not working, going stir crazy, we're broke as a joke because of the cost of AOS plus supporting two people on one income, and I have to take days off work to run around and do paperwork at places that aren't open on Saturday. And I wouldn't have to go to those places anyway if it weren't for stupid USCIS! ARG! I just want to be able to live our lives together in peace.

    That is all. :sigh:

  10. Well, the only "red flag" I see is that my husband is from Turkey, a middle eastern country: "If the alien spouse is a Middle East male, expect tough questioning or worse."

Probably the reason he was in AP for 6 months too. They say his name was "red-flagged" in their system which required them to submit him to more security clearance/name-check.

We don't have the much in the way of joint accounts right now, as he does not have his EAD yet and I am the one working and paying the bills and rent. Maybe we should look into opening a joint account where we'll keep our savings/wedding money (we're having our big wedding in Sept.) Can I put his name on our utility bills easily? I'll try to see if I can get his name on our rent contract too.

Yeah I'm not surprised really at much profiling they do at USCIS. I guess it's your own fault if you get burned and you don't do anything about it... tough for legit couples tho.

As far as joint accounts, my husband and I opened a joint bank account and it was super easy, there was no minimum deposit and it only took about 10 minutes. You should at least check into it, and putting your wedding money there sounds like a great idea. I also added my husband onto one of my credit cards. They will give him a hard time if you go for "joint" as opposed to "additional user" though, if he doesn't have a credit report. As for utility bills, sometimes it's easy, sometimes it's not. You should check online first in the bill pay area, if you use online bill pay. If you can't find it there call them. Utility companies typically are a lot easier to deal with than a credit card company. But don't be surprised if they say the bill needs to be in only one name. It happens. Just do your best to get as many on the list as you can. You have a few months so don't stress too much. Be sure to take lots of photos with you and him together, preferably with your parents/kids/relatives, or identifiable places/things in the background. For example, We visited Niagara Falls and took a photo of us in front of the falls together. Kind of hard to deny that we were there together, you know? Or if you went to a theme park, take a photo with a roller coaster in the background.

And hey, you never know, you might get transferred to CSC and it won't matter anyway! :star:

  11. From what I've gathered they don't interview about 50% of K-1's. I'm not sure why, maybe because our spouses have already been interviewed once? No, you definitely shouldn't worry! At an interview you should take tangible evidence of your life together as a married couple along with a copy of your entire packet-

A lease or mortgage agreement or signed affidavit of someone stating you live together

Wedding photos, holiday, family, event photos

    Joint Bank/credit card statement

    Utility bills in both names

    Driver's licenses showing same address

Joint Bank/credit cards with same numbers different names

Both Birth certs and passports for each of you

I read somewhere the kind of questions are usually pretty basic, similar to the Embassy interview:

Where do you live? Where do you work? Where are your parents? When did you get married? Who was there? That sort of thing.

Just to add to this, here's a standard interview summary: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=182281

And I just found this: including a list of reasons for suspicion http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=154623 Julia, perhaps if they can see that you have no red flags you get passed off to CSC with no interview... seems likely to me.

  12. Hmmm. Is there a transparent reason that some people don't have to interview? Should you worry if you do? What should be expected at an interview? Should probably start getting prepared...

  13. yes, as far as I can figure, that's correct.

So Karri, from what I can tell, you won't interview. I've been looking at filers in past months and comments and some people were transferred way before biometrics to CSC, so congrats! Hope they transfer us soon, as we should only be a couple of days behind you...

So if you aren't transferred to CSC you interview, but if you are transferred you don't? I think I signed up for email alerts and we haven't received any.
