  6. I will be there for only one week. We will have been apart for 1 yr 2 months, we have some catching up to do

The Dead Sea....I was there and took some beautiful pictures! It was the only place in Jordan I saw a camel.

Ya'll got anything good for breakfast? Pass it down the couch plz.

Hmmm- definately go to Petra-- we saw a ton of camels on the way there---open range camels_-- hubby couldn't figure out why the camel crossing signs had me soo ecstatic, I told him we have signs like that only there is a big COW on it... or a deer or elk-- then he was really confused! LOL!

Having turkey ham with scrambled eggs and khubz.

    wanna try? lol

Hey maybe you know Jackie... You know that meat, its kinda the consistancy of bologna, only I know it can't possibly be lips and ash holes! We ate it with breakfast int he family home... and those sweet creamy butterl/cheese type sauces... do you know what any of that is???

  7. ARNICA IS AMAZING! I took some on my trips to Jordan with me--- I knew I'd be walking a lot (something I was rather un accustomed to) and I would have sore muscles and feet by the end of the day! Popped a few arnica and rubbed down my sore muscles with the the gel, and Life Was Good! WE use is as an every day pain killer as well, instead of taking asprin or otc pain killers=its great for those montly cramps, and efectively stopping small children from crying after a bump or fall! Even takes the sting away after waxing! lol! And makes the bruising go away a lot faster! EVEN helped my brother-in-law who got in a car accident while we were th ere. He endedup with whiplash, and couldn't sleep till I gave him my bottle of it--not sure he didn't just down the bottle, but hey-if it helped!

Be cautious using it around stiches and open wounds, it can burn, but usually doesn't. That caution is more because you can use a lot of things topically with no reaction, but if it gets into a wound, you may find you are allergic, and then you have 2 whammies to worry about! Take caution and look at the website Lisa suggested!--Amy

  8. Yes I am truly a text away!

hmmm, I'm not a rhomboid shape (learned that word selling tile ;) I am too short to be a carrot. I think I am a sweet potatoe.

I'd definately give you that description! sweet! And good for you till you add all that butter and sugar and well in our cases--no more marshmallows :crying: @

Still no word on the passport-I'm sure he'd have called if it got there today! There's still a week to go b4 we start buggin them!

  9. This is my 5th trip to Jordan. I really just wanna go to Mecca Mall :P

I'd like to go to Jerash again to take pictures. I want drink coffee in Amman at night in the outdoor cafes. Oh I just can't wait! I wish it was tommorrow!

    jJ

How long you gonna go for? GOSH sure can't wait till we go back to visit! There are a few places around here we'd like to touch first! Hubby had never even heard of Yellowsotne, OR the Grand Canyon- I have never been to Yellowstone, so we'll do that first I think--he seems to not mind sleeping out under the stars!=he'll protect me!=but if he asks about the bears and their furrrrrr--I might have to laugh and scare away all the wild life around us!

Have you been to the Dead Sea then Jackie?

Lisa--- I LOVED umQuis. It was so peaceful and beautiful, we sat on the "stone couches" only they weren't couches, but broken sarcoffigises(really didnt' spell that right)! Kinda gross to think about now, but we were living in the moment--- If I could figure out HOW to load a picture into vj, I'd show you ours! Give me some time some things in this website still surprise me!--Amy

  10. awww-Tina You like my pig songs! LOL Thanks for your sweet comment. Hang in there... the time will be here faster than you realize--

Jackie---Im still sitting on the couch with ya--well ok- I visit from time to time, but I really do appreciate knowing you are only a text message away!

Star--in shape? What shape should I be? A rectangle or a rhombus--afraid this girl looks more adn more likea malformed carrot! LOL  Its a good goal to have- I Did then I got a full time out of hte house job and am trying to keep up with hubby in another country and my three kiddos and their schedules as well!! AHHHH!--the only shape I'm in is stressed for time! But I'm young still- I live.

:thumbs::thumbs: ok girls... here we go on another Wednesday! YAY!:dance::dance::dance::dance:

  11. In fact now he's hoping to stay in AP til June :(

On a brighter note....we are counting down the days til I fly to Jordan. He asked me today if I want to see Petra or Aqaba...I said....I really want to go to Mecca Mall :P

Tell him YESSSSS!!! We did both... on our honey moon! Then we did Jerash and UnQais... VERY VERY BEAUTIFUL!

He told me today that his grandfather died lastnight :( so I asked him how they do a funeral??? I have seen three VERY different Muslim weddings(mine included) but have never been involved in a funeral. He got that grin on his face-that smirk, like "I can't believe she doesn't know how to put a body in the ground" and he explained... "we wrap the body, take it to the cemetary and bury it. Then we come home and people come visit to give their regards." I said "Oh! You mean like a wedding!" and he still smirked(I can HEAR IT!) and said, "ahem! Yes sweetie." (with that OH MY GOSH IS THIS WOMAN FOR REAL?! WHAT A TWIT!-tone) LOL! He's sooo cute- even with sad news he manages to be lighthearted when he talks to me! He's really patient with all my questions, and so sweet with his answers... I LOVE THIS MAN! WITH ALL MY HEART!

Hang in there JJ! BUT really go to both They aren't that far apart, Its like 4 hrs to Petra from Amman, and then another 1 1/2-2 or so to Aqaba... There's a back route to take that is WAY faster, and more senic-VERY pretty countryside! AND FREE RANGE CAMELS!

  12. I feel defeated.

    tomorrow is another day.

This living day by day in hope is really exhausting! Tomorrow is another day, chin up (F)

We're all here for ya girlie! I would ordinarily break into song, from a childhood movie/book- "chin up, chin up, everybody loves a happy face, chin up chin up... SPARKLE, TWINKLE, let a lil sunshine in, you'll be on the right side lookin at the upside now up with your chinny chin-CHIN UP!" Ok  I digress--Everyone will forever remember me as the girl who sings "pig songs" LOL! Have a Great Tuesday!-Amy

  13. Hi All,

Wanted to share the good news with everyone! Today was Moh's interview for citizenship and he was approved! We had the interview in K.C. It was veyr simple and very easy and only took about 15 mins. He was told the oath would be 1 to 2 months but we would get a letter. We are almost done with this whole process! It was the new test. He was asked 6 questions, was told to write one sentence and had to read one sentence. They went over his paperwork and had him sign a form for his name change. It was quick and much easier than what we thought! Long day but well worth it. The people at the KC Dept of Homeland security was nice and friendly and was so quick and easy! Been a very long journey but its almost completed!

Wanted to share the good news!

    Lisa and Moh

Golly we're just having Good Days all over MENA!!! MABRUUK! I'm so happy for you-- Talk to ya soon!-Amy

  14. Shrewdgal - I see on the other forum you passed the interview!!!!!!

Congratulations - come and tell us all about it!

    yes yes!!

    we passed!!!

    It was sooo easy.

I attended and they took one look at my passport, asked me 4 questions and NONE to hubby and said "thank you maam for coming to the interview, that makes it easier on us and easier for you, congratulations"

    :)

so now, we are just waiting for the VISA to come :)

 WHOO HOOO! That is AWSOME!!! I'm very happy for ya! We are in the same boat girlie... waiting for the passport-- fingers crossed it WILL be less than two weeks from the interview! Hangin' in there! Talk to ya soon!-Amy

  15. Ok- Well Lisa.... I have been to Jordan twice- Oh and once again lastnight in my dreams! LOL! Umm- twice in four months! It was FANTASTIC both times... I have never felt sooo safe and looked out for! My husband and his many brothers would definately take on the masses to protect me--- It was funny on my second trip there... Went to Egypt...It was amazing, and smelly-sorry kids-I'm a bit snobbish when it comes to smells! ANYWAYS, we decided to save some dinar while we were still in Jordan and waiting for the ship to take us to Egypt. We slept out under the stars in the harbor in Aqaba! My husband and his brother were right there with me EVERY second-minus when I was in the WC! LOL! Then hubby was standing there waiting for me to get done with the morning rituals of potty! LOL!! ANYHOO, I never heard two men cluck sooo much at everyone else! Somone would brush me with their luggage and one or the other of my "body guards" would start that incessant clucking till they made room... what is it with the clucking?!

STAR---I can TOTALLY 100% relate to most family issues... I have a sister still not speaking to me, who calls and when I answer the phone she hangs up! GRRRR! Stay strong and Rest easy-- your time is coming...

And Jackie and Lisa and everyone else sitting on the couch== TECHNICALLY I'M still here! Still no sign of the passport, but I am hopeful it will be soon!

Mohammad--how's the fort? Ya wanna some falafel? How bout some knafa?! --- K- well I'll jabber with ya'll more later- this turned into a BOOK!

  16. July 14th is the first day I can take vacation time......yahooooooooo I can't wait to see Jordan with him. I've already put in my order for a/c ;) I can pee in a hole, but I need A/C for sure.

omg, i SO couldnt do it jackie! i learned in a few short days to use the br b4 we left and to bring tissue for when we were lucky enough to be somewhere with a toilet heh

will you guys rent an apt, hotel or stay with family?

Actually Lis- you figure it out pretty quick when your bladder just won't hold anymore! I tried and tried to do what you said, but we would be gone for HOURS soemtimes all day-- moist towellettes worked GREAT too! It gives you that "fresh feeling" after you just squatted near the floor!--might be a good suggestion for July there Jax--and HAND SANITIZER!! lol--Depending on where you are I guess Hotels can be chaper, but usually it is the appartments that we occupied! A nice place all to ourselves, we could do laundry together, and watch tv, and well.. .you know! LOL OOOOKKKK! I hope your trip goes well, and you'll be with Ibrahim very soon!-Amy

Ya, I still just cant do it. I would rather hold it until we got home.

Suit yourself! LOL You must have stronger kidleys than I do! I still come home from trips and it takes me two weeks to level off so I'm not up 3-4 times like a lil ol lady! I decided my last trip that I would just go and deal with life as it came--made things MUCH simpler-but watch out for the subway in Egypt if you manage to get tehre--- YUCK! AVOID those toilets at ALL COSTS!!!!! Toodles!

  17. Morning MENA!!! Gosh- I can't believe how quickly time flys by! I know people say that all the time, but GOLLY! Thanks for the pastries... I'll pass on the coffee and have some chocolate rasp bliss tea and cream if you please  Amazing how i was never really much of a tea drinker... now it's like m y life line durring a rough morning, and I don't drink the caffinated kind?! WEird huh?

Waiting to hear from the other half weather or not he's heard anything from Amarex... He is sooo waiting by his phone, like a little kid wanting to unwrap his Christmas presents! He's just toooo cute!

Hope evveryone has a Beautiful day-- looks kinda grey outside here today, and I know its gonna be COLD!!! I think I may have even just heard thunder???? Very strange. I'll be in the office by myself to day, but that doesn't mean much- as my boss only has dial up, so there will be no surfing from the office  Ok-take care Talk toyou all later! :star: Amy
