We got AP approval via snail mail and EAD approval via USCIS website. Then a week later we got the ComboCard. Now waiting for interview appointment! what do you think? another 3 months?

Got our cards on Friday 77 days from NOA 1 and 99 Days from when package was mailed. Good luck to all those still waiting!

Same thing happened to me. Yesterday we received written approval of the AP in the mail. We did not receive written approval of the EAD - that was only updated online, while AP was not updated online.
My concern now is I spoke with my Lawyer and he suggested that my wife not travel with the AP due to overstaying her entry visa by more than a year. I thought the Matter of Arabally and Yerabelly specifically say that in our situation you CAN travel without causing the 10 year ban to be enforced. currently searching the forums and online for clarity - fingers crossed.

So I just checked the USCIS page and for the EAD receipt it says " On January 13, 2017, we approved your Form I-765, Application for Employment Authorization." To be honest we are really waiting for the AP approval, which is still unchanged. If i understand correctly the card itself, once printed, is for both EAD and AP - is that correct? We are excited to see the EAD approval but are now nervously awaiting AP. Also, would it be possible for them to approve EAD but not AP?

Gives me hope - that's what we are doing as well.

My 90th day from date they received (October 18th) would be January 16th (next Monday), correct? My wife was supposed to travel home at the end of this month - we had really hoped the EAD/AP would have been processed by now. Should I open a case / inquiry? or is it too soon? I don't want to slow the process down any more but would love to give it a little nudge if possible.

Do you think the election result will have any impact on October AOS filers who would be likely interviewing after the changing of the guard?

We submitted on October 13th via our lawyer. Waiting to hear next steps
We received our NOA on Friday the 4th

Ok Maybe I am a little slow, but can someone clarify for me...
I married my wife in june of this year in Mozambique. She has never been to the US before and as of right now we have yet to begin the visa process. should I file jointly? She makes 100usd a month so it isnt a money issue but more of a will this help me when we do start our visa process? Also if by filing jointly I will have to pay less taxes then I am all for it.

Do you really think it would be better to do a CR-1? It seems like to me from what I am reading here that because I am going through VCS which is taking a VERY long time to process I-130s that this would be an instance where the k-3 does what it is supposed to do and make it faster than the older cr-1 process.....am I confused about that???

Hey everyone.....So I would like to start by saying thanks. Everywhere I looked made it seem like this process would be very difficult to do alone....now I have a little confidence that I actually can do it on my own. I ve a few questions though from the first few documents I am preparing. question 15 on the I-130 asks about current employment.....is that my current employment (petitioner) or hers (alien)???? Also it keeps asking for a Alien registration number....where does that number come from???? and what should I put????
Thanks again

Hello Everyone,
I am new to this forum so first off I would like to say hello to everyone, I am really happy that I have found this place. I am an American who is living in Boston and just got married to Virginia (my mozambican wife) on June 7th. I am getting ready to officially start the k-3 visa process but was wondering, in all of y'alls professional opinion, if you you think it is worth it to pay an immigration lawyer to handle the paper work? The one I am looking at is Allen Lolly of www.visa-fiancee-k1.com. Does anyone know anything about them good bad or ugly? I am looking at doing it this way because I know I can sometimes be easily confused by backwards government documents. Is it worth the money or is it really not that hard to do on your own? I guess what it comes down to is that I am really nervous about this whole process and just want to get to be with my wife again as soon as possible. If these same exact questions are posted somewhere else I am sorry for cluttering your forum. Thank you all for your time to help this "Newbie" get started.
