1. She should have no delay at all...they know what to look for in her passport. It shouldn't take any extra time. If it is her first time flying just make sure she knows about what she can't pack in her carry on, and if you wont be with her give her all of the info she will need to fill out on her I-94. You guys make a beautiful couple! Congratulations!

  2. Since you are married to a Jamaican citizen you are entitled to be a Jamaican Citizen through that marriage. If you go to any Jamaican Consulate's webpage it will tell you as such. Different ones serve different areas of the US, the one in new York serves my state, their website it http://www.congenjamaica-ny.org/ so you would just need to find the one that serves your area. I know there is one in Chicago and Miami. If you go the New York Consulates webpage as an example they tell you to apply for citizenship you need the citizenship application (which I had to mail them a self addressed envelope to receive) notarized copies of your and your husbands birth certificates & current passports, copy of marriage certificate, a police record, and two passport sized photos. The application costs J$7,000 which is like $80US so compared to what we have paid for our husbands we get out cheap! I am sending in the paperwork shortly for myself so if I have any updates I will let you know. I have been talking to a woman at the Consulate in New York and she told me once I git my certificate of citizenship I can apply for a Jamaican passport. PM me is you have any other questions.

So your copies of your passports need to be notarized? Do they do that?

  3. Good Morning Everyone,

Well I had an excellent Birthday, My Husband suprised me with a a candle light dinner and a bubble bath with floating candles it was beautiful then we went to the beach. I also found out yesterday that I am pregnant since it is so early I am not posting anything on Facebook so if you are on my Facebook please please dont say anything (I just had to tell all my VJ sisters)

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend and have a Blessed Day

AWE Kj I am sorry to hear that I hope you get well very soon.

Congrats! I'm pregnant, too. Will be our second child together. Ours was a little bit of an accident this time around, though. We are still happy anyway!

So, can you apply from the US? The website says you have to apply to Kingston, and I am also curious about the police report...Is it a police report from Jamaica? I haven't lived there so I can't imagine why they would want this...but I haven't heard of anything comparable from the US.

It's very easy to get. If I hadn't made my money order out to the wrong agency, I would've gotten it on the first attempt. As it is, It's still sitting here on my desk. Haven't made it to the post office to get my refund yet.

Were you applying from the US?

What did you do about the police report?

Acrow, you can download the form from this site http://www.pica.gov.jm/content/home/.

He needs to complete it and have it notarized along with 2 passport pictures( only 1 photo to be notarized) take these along with his expired passport to the passport office.

There is a 24 hr service which I think cost about $7000 and a 3 day service for about $6000.00.

    good luck

    wow thanks! That's quick

  6. anybody know the easiest way for my husband to renew his Jamaican passport? He is down there right now, but only for a week and a half.

Philly, can u post names of ur family members because in the middle of the night on CNN they were posting peoples names of folks trying to notify family in the US.

The situation in Haiti is so tragic there aren't even words...I am so sorry for any of you that might have family down there...I hope and pray for you

  7. Let me ask you guys this...what is the deal with rubbing alcohol? I told hubby last night that I didn't feel well and was all stuffed up last night so I crawled into bed. Next thing I know he is coming at me with some rubbing alcohol and rubbing it all over my face and head. LOL I really don't think it helped but he swore by it.

Anybody else tried this or heard of it? I think it actually made my face break out since I have a big zit on my cheak today.

Yes, this is common I think. It is menthol alcohol, right? My husband kept putting it on my feet when they were swollen from my pregnancy, and I have seen other girls due this, too. Also when my baby had a fever in Jamaica my husband pat him down with the alcohol and it actually helped to bring his fever down and helped him sleep. It is menthol, too, so it can help you like vapo rub.

I don't think it helped my feet though.

I am pretty sure just about every Jamaican household has this alcohol in it.

  8. Is there any possible way for me to file for my sister in law? If I file an I 130 will it be denied because she is not an actual sister of mine? She is here right now on a visitor visa and I love having her here and she wants to stay, but I am not sure how to go about it.

    any help...?

  9. :ot:

I don't know how everyone feels about this...but I'm so disappointed in Tiger Woods. I mean I know he's only human and a man, but dang...his wife just had a baby...you out here on top of your game but out here running around with trash....I just don't understand. So mad at him!

I don't blame his wife for getting in that a....she should have beat him down!!!

Sorry but I'm mad about it like it was me or something...dirty dog!

I know and he hooked up with the mistress the first time two months before his baby was due!

  10. Hello and CONGRATS to everybody that has been approved recently! Seems like a lot!

Right now my husband's sister is here visiting from Jamaica and my hubby is so happy to have here here. She cooks Jamaican food so much better than I do!

I hope everyone is doing well this morning

Good morning Acrow! Some good Jamaican food sounds so good right now.

Yeah she even brought saltfish with her from Jamaica and cooked us a yummy breakfast

  11. my husband loves the wii...its controls are really intuitive. He also loves WWE (why???) but he doesn't try to wrestle with me...thank god.

    Hey Yardies....

Sus, how did things go with the car.

Irie, I love Tierra's costume. She is so damn cute.

I'm going to buy myslef the Wii since it went on sale. lol maybe hubby would like that instead of trying to wrestle with me all damn day. Putting me in head locks and #######. This will give him something to do. lol
