So we are waiting for our NOA2 still and have about a month to wait at least. Then we have to add a few weeks for NVC and then some more time for Embassy to process. Then the Jamaican timeline for an interview is between 60 to 90 days. But we are pregnant and the baby is due in August. I cant stand the idea of having the baby without him, it is the first for both of us. Does anyone know if we would qualify for an Emergency Interview in order to try and insure his arrival before the baby's? This is what the US Emabassy in Jamaica's website says about emergency interview
The Embassy’s guidelines are very specific regarding what constitutes an emergency. These reasons are:
Serious illness or death of an immediate family member (immediate family members are the applicant’s mother, father, brother, sister, husband, wife, son, and/or daughter).
Emergency medical treatment. We will consider emergency requests for the patient and/or the immediate family member who is required to travel for support.
Short-notice business travel: Please provide a detailed description of the nature of your business in the United States, why it is necessary that you make the trip on an urgent timeframe, and an explanation of why you were unable to anticipate the travel and schedule a timely appointment.
Does being present at the birth of the baby qualify as immediate family member who is required to travel for support?
Feels that way to me!!! Anybody know anything about this?
unfortunately, the odds of this happening is nil to none....i know this first hand as me and my husband have 2 and a half year old twins and we tried to expedite and were denied.....i had a horrible pregnancy and was very sick and in hospital for last 2 months of it and still was not a reason for them to approve....i will try and be positve and say good luck in trying but also want you to not get your hopes up 100% just to be shot down.....

what exactly does it mean that my petition is with an adjucator??? perhaps i will have an NOA2 soon????
-
Yes, others have gone through it - although both were a K1 who then married and filed a CR1 - one of them is already here in the US - I'll get her to come halep you - my advise, file NOW so that by the time his ban is up he will be near to interview.
yep listen to Sus....def file NOW! and i am one of the vjers she mentioned.....but i am still awaiting a NOA2 on our CR-1.....our ban was up last october on the K-1.....as for going back to same doctor well i say no but my husband insists on going back to same one.....fingers crossed it works out that way

back to FB to await ricardos request

I am not trying to burst your bubble but it may be a little early to get the police certificate.....I am not trying to be a negative person, just real. You just started the visa process and someone please tell me if I am wrong in stating that the police cert is only good for 6 months.....we got our police cert a few weeks ago and we are just at about the 5 month mark and nervous we did it to soon.....plan on your fiance being in kingston ALL waiting......i know we were to apply and then my husband was there all day to pick up and still wasnt ready and had to go back the next day.....
-
im STILL awaiting the bottom of my timeline to give me any sort of idea of when case may be adjucated! still says not enough recent approvals......my filing date is around the time of alot of recent approvals LOL.....does anyone know why mine wouldnt say any date at all??? does it go by CSC vs VCS?
i pray VCS is moving as fast as CSC.....would love to have an approval before I leave to go visit hubby next week for our first anniversay......that would be the best gift ever!
hang in their june jult sept filers.....your approval soon come!
-
i am very stressed that i still do not have a date of possible approval on my petition.....a million other people have dates of when their case may be adjucated that filed when i did but why dont i??????????
-
Canadian_Wife got here and delivered a great response. I was out late with my 7 cousins last night and woke up 1 hour ago.
hahaha sounds like fun night was had by all!
-
thanks for the replies......
so all these things I will have to submit will have to be ORIGINALS???? can I just get certified copies of each of them with exception of police cert? I would prefer to do that so I still have originals to have hubby take to interview. (birth certs, marriage certs, passport pages, etc....certified copy would be having my notary sign copies of my original docs and JOP sign hubbys copies of original docs correct? I would assume, but have learned to NEVER assume LOL.
Thanks!

Hey family!
Ok so we are sooooooooooooooooo close to NVC stage (fingers toes eyes crossed anyways) and wondering if anyone can please respond with a simplified list of what is going to happen who has just gone thru this process, step by step, forms needed (we have the DS-230 part 1 signed already waiting to date it), documents needed (originals or certfied copies?). What has to be mailed? What can be emailed? What besides the DS-230 part 1 do I need my husbands signature on so I can have him sign while I am down there? I know there are many lists and posts out there but honestly having the time to search just doesnt happen for me with the kids and work LOL......
I am leaving for jamaica in a week and would like to get Richard's police record while I am there (do you think its too soon?)
I have started photo copying paystubs, bank statements, etc (how far back should I go? I will most likely need my mom to co-sponser so what docs will she need? For the K-1 we did a year of bank account statements and 6 weeks paystubs and employment letter.
I know this question has been asked many times but if someone could reply one last time it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!!!!!! I will assume Sus or Ricardo will be my first repy LOL....you guys rock!

Yes, this process sucks overall. It's not fair to those who have been waiting more than 5 months since they filed...but at the same time, those people who have been approved early are not at fault either. I think it's safe to say that the amount of time one has been waiting for an NOA2 does not reflect the amount of time one has been waiting to be with their loved ones. For example, it's only been 3 months since my NOA1 but I've been with my SO for almost 4 years now, and we made 6 months married the other day. These 3 months have just been additional to the 4 years I've been wishing things could be different...wishing that we could have been in one country since the beginning. If someone gets approved after only 3 months, good for them. Who knows how long they have been together in a long distance relationship, praying for the day the could live in one place. They somehow got lucky, and others didn't.
I gave up trying to understand this system I feel for all of you who have unjustly been made to wait longer, but am honestly happy for those breezed by. In the end, we all deserve to be happy
couldnt agree with you more well said......me and hubby are going on 5 years now, married for 1 year, and 2 beautiful babies who miss their daddy to pieces....even though i wish i were one of those approved in a month or 2 or 3, I am so happy for those were lucky enough to have the approval that quick! we will all get through this and the support of VJ is incredible! i have made and met some amazing lifelong friends here in my portal and honestly most of them is what gets me thru this!

morning vj family.....ok so why i am freaking out over this now i dont know but i am......
when i filed the petition for our CR-1 visa i filled out all the paperwork using my maiden name but have since changed to my married name legally and that is now what everything is under (banking, license, paystubs, ss card, etc) with our petiton still sitting at VSC awaiting approval do i need to do anything to change my name?? i am just nervous that i have now messed everything up and will slow things down even more once we get to NVC stage.....
if anyone else has ever been thru this can you please let me know what i need to do??? perhaps nothing needs to be done but most of you know the hoops i have been jumping thru for 3 years and to be this close to the end i do not want one single thing to slow us down further.....
thanks! have a great day!

how many of you that filed for your spouse sent your last 6 months paycheck stubs to NVC???? i was under impression you didnt need to and i am seeing someplaces to send them, other places no mention of it......so if any of you that filed please let me know whether or not you did send them in......got all my docs together except those for me and my mom (co-sponsor).....we are sending tax transcripts and not actual filings and W-2's....which if i am not mistaken is ok......ughhhh why am i making this more difficult than it needs to be???? ughhh i think i am just worried and nervous and over analyzing......somebody put me in check LOL
