  1. One of y friend did the k-3 visa, married in mexico, and now she lives in chicago while her husband waits in Mexico for the approval for him to come to the U.S. As they waited for the whole process, my friend got preganant. Her husband was going to be a father.

But, the baby was due on Nov 13th. And yesturday the doctors at NorthWestern Hospital found no heart beat from the baby as they monitored her tummy. Unfortunatly, the baby was born dead. It seems like he drank fluid from the mom. I'm not sure how is it called.

Can the husband come to the U.S., and some how obtain an emergency visa? The hospital already send a letter to the husband explaining what happened. What can he or she do for him to come as moral support and at least see his baby boy and they plan funeral services.

Please let me know if someone knows, it's a sad story and situations like this should allow some breaks in the immigration system.

Sorry for your loss, unfortunately they do not expedite cases due to pregnancy, as me and my husband just had a newborn and they were unable to expedite it due to pregnancy.

  2. Last night i e-mailed The American Embassy In Pakistan on their Inquiry e-mail asking about sending my k visa packet i needed some info before sending it but insted of replying to my question i got this reply insted

""Please contact us after December 15, 2008, as our office is updating the processing of the K visas. Thus the applicants are being suggested NOT to submit documents at this time. Please check back with us after the above date."" can anyone confirm this and tell me i am really upset please confirm. I hope it was the wrong guy telling me wrong information

    Please confirm.

    Thanks

    Tom

Call the Embassy, don't e-mail, you will get a better response

  3. I am unable to work because I am taking care of me and my husbands newborn child. I do have a co-sponsor who makes decent money, so since I am not working but do have a co-sponsor will this badly effect my husbands interview / case?

It should not - many folks (even many on VJ) have been successful in a similar situation.

lawyer also said it shouldn't be an issue!@ im just getting nervous as his interview approaches

  4. Well were going on our 7th week of not receiving Packet 4. Islamabad embassy keeps telling us the same thing everytime we call and e-mail them, that they have received packet 3.5 and have not reviewed it yet. A worker at the embassy told my husband that they will give our case to a supervisor since it has taken so long. Regardless i'd like to write a letter to my congressman.

Are there any templates for a letter to send to my congressman? I'm not very good at letter writing.

  5. I know someone who's case was denied even though she went with him. As Lisa said, you can not go with him inside the actual interview. I think you should go for support though-if you can afford to do so. I think the same thing will happen whether you attend or not. These days they are issuing AP to most all of the Pakistani individuals....both male and female. I am going to try my best to go with my husband when and "if" we ever get approved just for support. But, if he gets AP I will realize it was wasting money to travel there and not be abe to return home together. I think you have to make yor own judgement on this circumstance. Didn't you just have a new baby? Are you planning to take him/her too? If so, be very careful traveling that far with him/her.....you know the health precautions there are far worse for babies. Good luck!

How long is AP if one is placed on it?

  6. Well, there ya go....call them :)

I found this on their website... quote it when you call :P

The beneficiary, who then becomes the "Applicant," is sent a "Packet 3.5" which consists of information, forms, and requests for documents. When we receive the Packet back from the applicant (through American Express Travel Related Services – with prepaid return) with all the forms completed and all the required documents, we will schedule a visa interview within the next few working days.

    FEW WORKING DAYS!!!

boy, i wish I would have read that 5 weeks ago!

    thanks!

I will tell my husband to quote that when he calls, and if he can actually get a live human to talk to this time!

  7. they respond some time same day and some time not reply

I mailed yesterday and Recvd Reply same day

SO it totally depends on Consulate section.

I M telling U the Best way is Call them

and u get Immedaite respones at the same time on telephone

    AUthentic way is Voice Contact..

Becase i also HAdnt recvd my packet 3.5 and request them On phone and got my Packet 3.5 very next day

my husband says anytime he calls the embassy they do not answwer!!

I dont know about your embassy, ours(Amman) usually responds to mine in a few days. Thats just for general questions though.

Im all about writing congressmen(se emy signature lol). I just think that they will be more inclined to help you if you show that you tried to "do it yourself" first.

Do you know how long it usually takes at your embassy for the packet 4? I think I just read somewhere that someone never received it and had to get the details from NVC,maybe?

    I'll go look for a link :)

    Lisa

sorry your case is taking so long!!!!

  8. Is it better for both of us to go to the interview? Would that help chances for approval? Would me attending my husbands interview when and if he ever gets the date help lessen his chances of being put on Administrative Processing? We have all the documents lined up perfectly because he hired a lawyer, so missing any documents won't be a factor in holding us back.

    Thoughts?

  9. We have not received Packet 4 from the Islamabad US Embassy for almost 6 weeks now. The Islamabad US embassy did send us an e-mail after inquiring saying that they did receive Packet 3.5, but have yet to review it. I am in a hurry for my husband to come because we have a newborn baby and I need to start working so I can start making money for our family!

Do you think I should write a letter to my congressman asking what the hold up is?

    Advice please!!!

  10. Tell her to tell him that she wants to have kids, and see his reaction.

Tell her to say she wants kids right away.

I have been to Morocco, and let me tell you I had a very bad time there and bad experience with the people. I am sure not all Moroccans are bad, but from my experience I do not trust them. Hopefully your sister is not being used.

I know one Moroccan man who married a US citiszn and he is still married to her after he received his citizenship.
