My wife's interview was just a few days before our 2nd wedding anniversary. The CO (Islamabad, Pakistan) told us she was approved but that he would wait until after our anniversary because it would "help us". I told him we don't mind continuing as a CR-1 if it means she can get her passport sooner but the CO said sorry, they need the extra time to process because this is Pakistan. He just contradicted himself right there, lol! If they need extra time to process why would he wait to start processing until after the anniversary date?

Checked her status last 2 days and it's still "ready" pending interview.

Anyone else experience this issue?

Yes he gave us white slip with check mark on AP. How many days usually its taking to complete AP??

Did you wife's status updated after interview ? Don't worry brother it will be issued within a month. Majority of female applicants are going though final security checks Thats the reason they give a month time though my wife case passed one month but still no updates besides two change of dates after my emails to the embassy.

My wife had interview on 02/24 and i wAs with her, after 10mins of interview CO put us on AP and kept the passport, CO really grilled us, and asked a lot of questions, he said it will take 1 month to complete the process, he also kept a form thats has my social media account username and phone numbers.

Issued.... 2/25

After 2 months of AP, visa issued today.

Congratulations, is this for you or your wife visa and why you guys being put on AP for that long.At the time of interview they ask your Location where you supposed to collect your passport , it doesn't matter from wher you send the additional documents but on te safe side It will better if you call the embassy and Inform them. I have a question. How long do we wait until we hear from embassy? Also, the immigrant lives in Lahore, and that's what we indicated where we would like the passport sent... but we sent the additional required docs from karachi AEG services center., we were required to create a profile on their semi functional website where in order to complete the profile we had to select "Karachi" as the location where we would like to receive the passport from. So now, will our passport be delivered to Lahore or Karachi?

Again... at interview we asked to deliver to lahore. At time to submitting additional paperwork after interview, we indicated karachi but that was only for AEG's website. So what do you guys think?

Every time someone at the embassy even looks at your case file, your status date will get updated. If you send an email, they will open your file to check and you will see an update date on your case online. So its really hard to say if there is progress on a case or not. If you saw a date update without your inquiry then it could be that they opened your file to work on it.

I saw updates whenever I emailed and the reply was always useless ( Its in processing, check back in 2 weeks). Last update I saw was on Feb 11th without an email inquiry and a week after that update the visa was issues. Keep your hopes high, inshaAllah you will be issued soon. For your congressman, you'll have to get in touch with their office and see what they can do. It really depends on your district and if they have time to look into your case.

Interview was on 23 feb , status updated rite away after interview to AP, den today it's updated again AP.. Its Cr1 case

To contact a congressman, you should search for your local congressmen. They all have websites which give you the option to send an email to their office. Send the email and ask them for help with your spouse's immigration case. Depending on your locality, the office usually contacts you for details.

Hi Shazam , could you please elaborate on how many times did your status of dates updated and you mentioned you email the embassy almost every week so does these dates updated because of your emails to the embassy or its updated because of case actual progress. Did you received any reply back for your emails. Also I did involve my congressman so can you tell me how I can get back from my congressman about my case status? My case date is updated today for the first time since January 21 but idk is this because of my email to the embassy or its the real progress. Thanks

When ur wife had interview, mine was on 23 February 1 day ago . & they gave mY wife white paper with AP & what u think shld i contact congressmen now or later

Yeah we're thinking to talk to the senator again next month. Oh nd I never knew about the calls from the Embassy! Are they gonna call for the visit more investigation nd queries or just to collect my original documents nd passport!??

Nd as far the timeline. My interview was held at Islamabad on January 26th 2016. First update was on feb 1st. Second update was on 11th feb. Nd till thn no more updates. How about urs!?

I have heard people saying that when they send an inquiry through congressmen or senator their case update date changes. But mine doesn't change after senators' inquiry

Filed i-130 in December 2014. Approved in July 2015. Interviewed at Islamabad embassy in January 2016.

The interview was quite easy. Some random questions about his parents names how we met and his job. After the interview the CO asked your case needs ADMINISTRATIVE PROCESSING nd gave me a white form. I asked how long will it take he said it can take a month. And then I asked can it take longer than that he said it can".

They kept my passport my original birth certificate and our original nikah nama. Now its been 3 weeks nd they have updated my status twice without me sending any inquiry.

We are so frustrated nd helpless. Please please someone help nd reply me please!!!!! It'll be so helpful for us!

Just checked my status today and it says Issued It took exactly 4 weeks from interview to issued. You should send an email to the embassy and inquire. There are currently 250 cases in AP in Islamabad. If it takes another week, call your local congressmens office and get them involved. I emailed the embassy almost every week and last week i got the local congressmen involved. Maybe thats pushed the processing. Best of luck guys, I think iA you will get issued too.

Don't be too worried brother , mine interview was on jan21 n was told approved n collect PP in month but still no updates since interview date , hope we get issued status soon inshaAllah. Prayers are the answers.

Yes I was interviewed in islamabad , in my case the CO says congratulations and to collect PP in a month which is almost here now , my status changed once on jan 21 and till now no updates . I'm going to wait one more week n then my husband is going to contact the DOS n the senator office hope it solved before getting to that point. Did you got any slips? We're you returned all the original documents ?

Hi Aliya, my interview was on the Jan21 and sill in AP no slips were given and was advised to collect the PP in a month, so be optimistic and we will get it soon Insha Allah, di you CEAC status changes to AP and when exactly does it changes to AP? could you please share. Now in this process I'm sure you know how things work by now ... The USCIS, NVC and the US Consulate have procedures that they have to abide by just like any other organization and in your case you are not the only one that has to wait even after the interview. There are thousands of other husbands and wives out there and out here on VJ. 3 things - Hope, faith and patience carries a lot of weight and goes a long way .... trust me on that .. no one wants to be upset but that is your choice. You cant beat US Immigration so it's either you choose to think positive and look to be happy and enjoy your everyday life somehow or think negatively and stress and upset yourself.
Spend time with your close friends and family there in Pakistan as much as you want and can because you have a whole lifetime to spend with your husband.
VJ is a good pass time and you learn a lot from the people here and from their experiences.

You have come a long way so can do this!.. remember that we are not tested beyond our capacity...

Exactly soon after the interview which is on Jan21. Till then no updates.

Salam Brother, Sorry getting you back late as i was out of town for a while, unfortunately mine status still showing AP and not even any dates updates. SO how was your wife's interview and did she got any slips and what time did the CO says about passport collection. Did you noticed any dates updates and when exactly your status changes to AP?

I got an update on Jan 21st, 22nd, 25th and then 27th. It hasn't updated since then. It changed to AP the same day of interview.

Sorry to here about your situation, my wife had the same day interview and the CO said congratulation to her and said one month to her and haven't been given any slips(221g) but till date the status shows AP. At least your case has been updated but mine is same as 21 January. Please update brother if there any change in your status, one brother Rahim wife already been issued visa having same date. Please remember in Prayers. Hopefully we all will get approval the same time inshaAllah.
