how was your interview?
It was my wife's interview. Probably one of the first of the day, really relaxed. The only standout thing that might help others: don't forget to bring all of the passports you have used since you moved to the US.
-
May 1st ceremony for us. Crazy!
-
Are you guys bringing anything to the interview?
-
Congratulations! That oath date seems fast.
-
wow, Spokane must be quick.. hope to have that kind of speed on my app
Must not be too many new apps up here. We were thinking sometime in May so this was a surprise.

Nope! you are past the inline stage! An interview has been scheduled for you! The inline notice wording would read.. On Feb 19,2015, we started the interview scheduling process for your form n-400 ...
We checked the mail tonight - interview scheduled for March 26. Thank you for the reply! Good luck everyone.
-
On February 19, 2015, we scheduled an interview for your Form N-400, Application for Naturalization , Receipt Number xxxxxxxxxxxxx. We will mail you an interview notice. Please follow any instructions in the notice. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address.
Guess this means we are in line?

Same difference. Replace one with the other, its still valid. Way to help out though.

With USCIS anything is possible. There isn't really a reason (that we'll ever know) why these things happen.
-
Biometrics scheduled for Feb. 13th. Notice date was Jan. 23rd.
-
just got my NOA. Can i ask what is the yellow paper?
Could you describe it? We didn't have anything other than the NOA in our envelope.
-
File the moneyback claim for postage. Sometimes Fedex can be late to delivery the package.
It was USPS not FedEx, that's the problem. USPS is minor league when you actually need something to get somewhere on time.
So, we received NOA - USCIS Received Date January 14, Notice Date January 16. Now we just hurry up and wait.
-
I hear you about USPS, we stick with FedEx whenever we send something important.
Our check was cashed on the 20th.

Monday was a federal holiday.

did i make a mistake by sending a money order from usps?
usps really sucks, their website are archaic, and dont reveal anything about money orders
here i thought sending a money order would actually be better due to the funds not bouncing
Why is this so important to you?
You have a case number, if the money order wasn't any good they would have sent everything back to you.

You said all of Brasil...two more options here (maybe):

My comment was meant to be rhetorical and there isn't really much snide or vague about it.
By getting a sponsor you are asking someone to be responsible for YOUR wife until she has 10 years of creditable work experience. Next, look at timelines like yours. Your case could be adjudicated within a month or two at the most based on trends. With jobs being what they are why would you leave one now and assume you can step right back in to another 2 months from now?
The K1 process makes people a little crazy. We waited much longer than almost anyone that filed when we did. I was tempted to say screw it and go to Brazil and get married. People don't always think straight when USCIS forces them into situations like this by not processing their case for whatever reason. All I'm saying to you is step back and think big picture before you do something rash.

We just sent everything with FedEx today. Package will leave for Phoenix on Monday the 12th. Spokane WA is our closest field office.
Good luck everyone. What will we do without USCIS?
-
That Pakistani flag under your ID is probably part of why it is taking so long. When we filed I watched the same thing happen to other people. People from certain countries get to jump through more hoops (even if USCIS doesn't admit it).

So if your plan worked, how would you pay for her ticket here, other moving expenses and your wedding plus the cost of AOS?
I know being separated sucks but asking someone else to be on the hook for your future wife and blowing a hole in your finances (which already sound week) might not be the best idea.
-
If you completed it at approximately age 18 it is "comparable" to a high school diploma here, but probably represents having had a better education than someone with a typical high school diploma would have received in the US.

I did have an interview on February 6 with my local immigration office because they thought there was possible fruad which is not the case.
Why would they think this? No matter who you are or how may years in the military, this will make life tough. I hope things work out for you, waiting (and feeling helpless) is miserable.
-
I would suggest finding something else to focus on while you wait for the approval. We were in a similar situation (so I know how miserable this can be) and the approval came through eventually.
I wouldn't want to complicate the process by marrying and then going the AOS route but it is really up to you. Good luck whatever you decide.
