  1. There are a lot of homophobic/ignorant posts in this thread, but nonetheless what the soldiers did clearly violated policy & they should have been punished. Personally I have mixed feelings about gays in the military but even it were a straight porn site the soldiers would have faced charges (conduct unbecoming at the very least).

  2. Are we still trying to ease the pain by regurgitating Palin?

Hey Libs..... YOUR HOUSE ON FIRE.

Palin it tomorrows problem, today you have bigger fish to fry.

The original reference was totally on point... I was actually complimenting Brown by favorably comparing him to Palin. Your boy Joe is the one that derailed the train so if you want to blame someone for taking the thread :ot: point your finger at him. As for "easing my pain" I'm an independent & I vote for the better candidate, not by party lines. Again I know little about Brown but my initial impression of him was positive, so if I lived in MA I may very well have voted for him.

It had nothing to do with Palin, but theyI heard her name and started foaming at the mouth and shaking.

    Fixxored that for you Joe

  3. Lets see if i got this right, we can point out Bush's political incompetence, cause he is a dude, but if we point out Palin's political incompetence, we are being hypocritical? Have you looked in the mirror lately?

Or check out the 3862 Obama Sucks threads in the OT forums... they are rife with personal attacks & questioning his intelligence. However this thread is about Scott Brown so lets get back to him.

  4. You libs know this has nothing to do with Palin and justifying anything other than your own hypocrisy.

Palin was brought up because I said Brown isn't like Palin & of course you tried to say I'm being hypocritical by calling Palin a nitwit, which I don't consider a personal attack but an opinion. As for being a hypocrite I'm pretty sure your picture is beside the definition in Websters B)

Still talking about Palin when it had nothing to do with the topic at hand?

Your attempts at taking the high road are just plain silly, but OK lets get :ot2:

  5. I don't know why you even try to justify calling the woman a nitwit to someone like Joe. Being unable to answer simple questions makes one a tad 'light' politically but you will not get the fan club to recognize that. I guess it's love (L)

Joe's reputation precedes him & trust me I know I'd get a better dialogue with a turkey sandwich than him. As for Palin she is an attractive & entertaining woman & like W I'd knock back a few drinks with her if given the opportunity, but I certainly wouldn't vote for her.

  6. To get anything done we now require 60 votes instead of a simple majority. Its much easier to get a majority to agree than a super majority, and it ends up giving to much power to too few people who will bend it to whatever political agenda they have.

Republicans have showed little interest in solving problems we have, just interested in obstructing any attempts by the Democrats to do so and the filibuster power that they are abusing, gives them way to much power.

Yup each party is more interested in screwing the other party than making changes to benefit the average American. If the Republicans regain power I have no doubt that the Democrats will do the same thing the Republicans are doing now (i.e. facilitating failure). We're imploding just like the Romans did.

  7. Sure was tried during the eight years of the Bush administration, now exactly sure how you tie liberalism or conservatism to any political party. But did hear some republicans state that they better return to being conservatives again if they want to be reelected. And the democrats are suppose to be war mongers, not republicans.

I really don't know how you can tell the difference.

Same #######, different party. Bush (and by extension the GOP) blatantly disregarded the wishes of the majority of Americans & his approval ratings ended up around 28%. Obama (and by extension the Democrats) tried to cram healthcare reform down the throat of Americans & it looks like that may very well fail. Mix in partisan BS & obvious attempts to facilitate failure (both parties are guilty of this) and what you end up with is a steaming pile of fecal matter.

Anyone that can't see that both parties are responsible for the current state of affairs is oblivious to reality.

  8. So if her regular doctor here does the TB test and seals the envelope, this should satisfy the requirement? I thought it had to be a civil surgeon

My doctor did the exam and referred us out for the chest X-ray. The results were sent directly to them & everything was accepted. They (I don't recall exactly who "they" were) did want us to come in & have their docs do the tests but it was inconvenient for us. I hope this info helps.

  9. Does the civil surgeon HAVE to do the entire medical? My wife only needed the follow up TB test which he did. The problem came when the staff said he would not seal the results unless he completes the entire exam for $200.00. I am seeing many many reports of nothing but problems with these civil "surgeons" . Anyone out there able to get just the TB re-test done?

    Thanks

Based on our experience the follow up test can be done by any doctor (we had our civilian doctor do the test & we forwarded the results). It wasn't a full blown exam, just the TB test & a chest X-ray.

  10. You can't lead by the fickleness of polls. Americans at the time of the election were overwhelmingly in favor of health care reform. Negative and doubt are much more effective persuaders to voters, especially in the context of our economic woes. Once health care reform passes its final stage and is finally signed by the President, which I'm still hopeful it will, voters will direct their frustrations over the economy elsewhere. Just look at how the Tea Baggers have tried to make health care reform a threat to our already troubled economy. Obama needs to sell this home to the public until it is reaches the finish line, but he's having issues within his own party from both the liberals and conservatives.

Believe me I understand how misinformation, fickleness & political agendas are more powerful variables than truth & doing what benefits the greatest number of people & the term "politics" has a negative connotation for good reason. However to be a successful politician you have to understand the game & manipulate it to get what you want.

  11. I agree, however, health care reform will help boost our economy. More Americans filed bankruptcy over medical bills last year than any other economic reason. Not addressing health care reform right now is ignoring the elephant in the closet.

Politics is about pleasing your constituents, not enacting controversial reform that roughly half of Americans don't agree with. Once you please your constituents (e.g. fixing the economy) you can tackle the controversial reform (e.g. healthcare) that you want. By doing it in reverse you jeopardize both.

  12. All he has to do is to stick with ideas he campaigned with, do his best to see those materialize into policy and he and the rest of the Democratic Party will be fine.

IMO Obama should have focused on the economy first, then foriegn policy & then healthcare. Once he got the economy turned around it would be easier for the other two to fall in place, since the economy is by far the most important issue in the minds of Americans (based on several polls I've seen).
