  1. When my husband had his interview. I bought a round trip ticket for him in advance of the interview and set the departure date about a week after the interview. If you have to then you can simply change the flight. Book the flight orginating in Peru and returing to peru. You can choose your seats with most airlines. I just went online and selected two seats next to each other. After he got to the USA I canceled his return portion and got a credit for future travel. good luck with the interview!

  2. Is there anybody living in Texas?? I'm having a hard time trying to renew my driver's license bc they won't accept the extension letter. How am I supposed to renew my license then?? I'm trying to get an infopass but it's not showing anything on the website. If anybody knows how to renew let me know please.. My green card and drivers license expires on Sunday =( Thanks Juliana

Make an info-pass appointment and have them stamp your passport. You may need to tell them you didn't get your NOA1. They seemed hesitant to stamp my husband until we explained to them that we didn't get NOA1 and have no proof he is in the country legally. The stamped passport was accepted in North Carolina and we were able to renew my husband's drivers license.

  3. So i'm going to send everything I sent the first time again, get anyone who has ever seen us together that I can think of to write a letter for me, if I can get like 20 letters from people attesting to the fact that we're legit and that isn't good enough then I guess we'll just move to England

You could always invite them over for tea! hahah I assume they would interview you if they didnt find the evidence as sufficient and I am sure after nine years of marriage they couldn't stump you in an interview!

  4. I filed for removal and the response was that they needed more evidence of 'Significant financial responsibility' for the term of the marriage.

Did you file as divorced or with your wife?

We had joint medical and car insurance, joint phone contracts, joint car loan, files our tav returns together to show all this, and they still want more? So i managed to get copies of our joint bank account statements to send in, will this be enough on top of what i sent before?

It could be that they lost your financial documentation. You may want to send copies of what you sent the first time along with joint bank account statements. Did you have joint credit cards?

I don't get why the immigration service see commitment and a healthy marriage in a financial way - its very annoying! If thats how they view it, anybody could come into the US and just get joint financial responsibilities, and viola! you're in! It sucks!

Well if it's a fraud marriage most people are not willing to comingle their finances. That is why USCIS asks for proof that you are living as a real couple.

  5. My husband did a walk in yesterday in Raleigh, NC and they didn't even look at the date or question him as to why he was trying to do biometrics 2 weeks before his scheduled date. Someone asked the same question about early biometrics in San Francisco and it seems they were able to do it. Click here

I don't think it affects your application negatively. More likely it helps you get your card sooner. Good luck.

  6. They threw it out?!?!? I would've been scared :P

Yea after one year trying to get a green card it was a little upsetting to see them throw it out so haphazardly. Anyway we completed our early biometrics today in Raleigh, NC. They never looked at the date or asked us why we came early. I sat in a waiting area while my husband completed his biometrics. This was our second trip there and again it was empty. It took about 30 mins and only because they had computer problems. I did see a security officer ask a woman with a crying baby to leave, but other then that everyone was very pleasant and helpful.

  7. My husband and I had an infopass appointment today in Durham, NC. We only waited about 5 mins and everyone was very helpful. At first they did not want to stamp his passport, but we explained that he will loose his license in 3 days and has no proof of legal status and finally they stamped it with his I-551 which grants legal presence for one more year. We were able to take his passport to the DMV and get his license renewed, but still no NOA-1. We learned at the infopass appointment they had the right address for me but not the address for him, so they have been sending our paper work to the wrong address.. Not really sure how they did that when they are the same address....

  8. That's exactly the point. It "so happened."

It wasn't chance. I spent a long time studying immigration laws both on this site and off. My case was very straight forward we married for love and no other reason. We had many things in common and nothing to cause red flags. There was no reason to deny it.

  9. As you said that everyone in your family is just at poverty level, I am assuming you have no cosponsor. Immigration does not care if you have a college degree. You can sponsor your husband, but you need to go out and get a job or 2 until you meet the income requirements. You need to prove that you make over the required amount to sponsor him. Right now you need to be making over $18,387 to sponsor your spouse (required amount for 2 people). You need to earn more than $1530 a month. So work a full and part time job. Save your paystubs and you can use them to prove you make enough to sponsor your spouse.

  10. yes. when i had mine yesterday, i wore a jeans, a blouse with collar and a very comfy shoes B-)

I have seen people go in jeans and a tee shirt. However, my husband wore a suit for his interview.

  11. When I was applying for my husband I was working 1 full time job and 2 part time jobs. I took 3 months off durind the year to get married so had to make up for that income. In 2008 I just made enough to sponsor my husband (I mean like $100 over the line). However, I sent evidence that my salary for my three jobs was double the amount needed to sponsor my husband. I had no problems.

So as long as you make over the amount required to sponsor your spouse and can show that you are currently making enough you should be fine. I don't think they care about your work history and how many jobs you have taken and left as long as you can show that you are employed and make enough. Hope that helps.
