  1. Question to everyone on this thread: When you found out you're in AP@NVC, what exact words did they use - "Administrative Processing" or "Additional Processing"? The reason I'm asking is that there seems to be a difference between the two confirmed by both NVC reps and attorney I spoke with.

    It's definitely the same thing.

    As for the letters, as much as I remember, we also never received any letter/email/anything saying a word about AP being completed. Even though they, of course, promised to do so. We did, however, get a letter saying nice things about the case being forwarded to the Embassy before we even knew about AP.

    As for the news - I'll be flying next Saturday. Still haven't packed and don't know where to start. :whistle:

  2. Pakiranje.. ne ide. Imam dovoljno kofera (5 komada za mene, s obzirom da nas putuje cetvoro, u dva navrata, a svaki moze nositi 2x22.5kg), ali ne znam uopce odakle da krenem. Mozda cu ovih dana spakirati zimsku garderobu i sl. (stvari koje mi nece odmah trebati, ili sto vec), u dva kofera koja ce mi donijeti brat i sestra, koji putuju pet dana nakon mame i mene.

    Uopce ne znam sto bih, osim garderobe, nosila. Cini mi se da je 5 kofera dosta, a da robe nemam ni priblizno toliko... al' vidjet cemo. Imam jako puno knjiga i CD/DVD-a, ali to jos necu nositi, osim mozda po nekoliko najdrazih. Za to se moramo raspitati i vidjeti koji je najlaksi nacin prebacivanja. Stvarno je puno toga. Ovo drugo.. aaaaaaa, ne znam. Nemam uopce ideje sto mi treba. U neku ruku se ponasam kao da ne selim, vec idem na dugo putovanje pa, ono, mogu me stvari na policama i ovdje cekati. :unsure: Sve mi se nekako cini da, barem za sada, ne trebam pakirati stare foto albume, salice koje sam dobila na poklon... slike sa zida... ma, joj, stvarno ne znam.

    Sto se svi vi, koji ste vec tamo, nosili sa sobom? Sto niste ponijeli, a voljeli biste da je sad s vama? Sto ste kasnije prebacili?

    Sve se bojim da cu dan prije puta histericno trpati stvari u kofere. Grrrrr.

    Obavila sam neke osnovne preglede kod doktora (vadjenje krvi, urin, ginekolog), tek toliko da vidim jesam li zdrava prije puta (eto, jesam! :)). Ostaje mi samo jedan mali karijes kojeg mozda necu stici popraviti, no nije nesto sto ne bi trebalo izdrzati do prvog povratka u Hr. Vidjet cemo jos, napravit cu sve sto mogu da uguram taj posjet zubaru drugi tjedan. Nekako. Jos moram prevesti uvjerenje o diplomi i to je to, sto se papirologije i slicnog tice. Dobra teta u ambasadi (koja nam je vodila postupak) mi je dala dobru ideju za prijevod rodnog lista - umjesto da platim 200-njak kuna za ovjereni prijevod, platila sam 44 u maticnom uredu, a trazila medjunarodni izvadak. Vrijedi vani bez apostila. Izvadila sam i medjunarodnu vozacku.

  3. Thanks a lot! I was never really clear on that part, and I'm probably one of the rare people that actually wants/needs to wait a little bit before she comes here because of my current situation. Thanks all.

    It's not so rare, even though I admit I see people travel pretty much the day they receive their visas.

    First, we managed to postpone our interview by an entire month, pretty much. My visa was issued on April 8th and I'm still here in Croatia, just about now getting ready to hop on a plane (in a couple weeks). There were many things that needed to be settled here, before my moving to the States.

    Zuri mi se malo sad pa ne stignem puno o osiguranju (poslije cu), no znam da Allianz (a vjerojatno onda i drugi) ne daju putna osiguranja na vise od, mislim, 3 mjeseca. Moze se uplatiti i na koju godinu, ali da bi polica bila valjana, moras svakih 90 dana ULAZITI u Hrvatsku. Standardne putne police (do 3 mjeseca) su nekih 18-19 kuna po danu. Zapravo - skupo ko vrag.

    Trcim sad, tipkat cu jos poslije.

  5. Vjencanje je 28.08.

    Ali, enivej... danas nam se, valjda, dogodilo neko cudo i uspjeli smo, i to preko naseg Generalturista, upecati povratne karte 13.08.-02.09. za 5872 po osobi. Tako da sestra stize, a s njom i mali brat, ako mu daju vizu, ali on kao ucenik srednje skole ne bi trebao imati nikakvih problema.

    Mama i ja putujemo 08.08.

    Vristi mi se od svega ovoga, luda sam skroz!

  6. Ma ne ide mi sestra najvjerojatnije nikamo. Odugovlacila je s vizom i cime sve ne i sad su karte preskupe van svake pameti. Uglavnom je rijec o skoro duploj cijeni povratne karte koju je mogla nabaviti prije otprilike mjesec dana. Onako, otprilike od 10,000 do 12,000 kuna. Prebolesno. Ostatak rodbine (a ima nas, i to samo najuze) nece vjerojatno niti ici vidjeti mogu li dobiti vizu. Preskup je to sport.

    A meni se i dalje ne leti avionom. I ne pakira mi se. Uhh.

  7. You apply for the EAD and AP at the same time as the AOS because then it's free. Otherwise you'll have to pay separately for the two documents.

    AP can be used in cases that isn't an emergency too. It takes roughly 8 weeks. If there is an emergency though, you can make an infopass appointment and expedite it and receive the emergency AP on the day.

    I've posted this elsewhere, but my grandfather died yesterday suddenly; I'm looking into getting emergency AP but apparently am not eligible as we haven't yet applied for AOS. I'm trying to get my K1 re-validated by the consulate so that I can go back to the UK and then use it to re-enter, but it doesn't look good.

    My condolences, Gemmie. I hope you'll get it all figured out so you can fly to UK and back.
